I use MAME. I also have it on Saturn and PS2 but the Saturn version has slowdown among other issues and the version on Metal Slug Anthology and Neo Geo Arcade Classics has significant lag and blurry graphics.

I actually never tried to 1 credit a game until i read the shmup forums. That it doesn't count until you beat it with 1 credit.

So far I only manage to on a few game but I am proud of my accomplishments.

Last game I was trying to 1cc is ASOII, actually 1LC since if you die, you´ll never get the powerups again.

I can get to the last stage, I just need more practice there.

Game throws lots of random ships + items at you, every play it´s a bit different than last one.

Good luck with that... Alpha Mission 2 has always been a game that just didn't click with me. I think things like stage 2 rubbed me the wrong way because I hated having to wait around for so long just to advance. There's so many slow parts but like you said the game is very unforgiving because like you said you absolutely have to know what to do in those later stages, because if you don't have the right armors then you're fucked.
