Well I was playing it on my MVS just the other day when I noticed on the title it said 'Happy Birthday Robert'

Curious, I selected robert and he seemed to be constantly flashing.

Anyone know what it does? and what are the birthdays of all the characters?

When it's the player's birthday, they can do their super move at any time. Last all day, of course. :)

I noticed this at the arcades a long time ago...
it is a very nice
idea by the developers of this
game.

I never knew MVS cabs had an internal clock.

Cool.

Imagine if whatever time you played a fighter at the background would be time related, like Virtua Striker 2 on the DC, if you play at night it's night time on the game too. Very funky idea.

Yes, I believe it's primarily used for its internal bookkeeping.

That's neat.....even MVS machines can wish a character happy b-day? I might go off subject a bit, Mai's b-day is 1/1, I wonder if it's possible if MVS machines did that for her...

Taken quite well. You're right. And really, how could the AES know what the date is? It doesn't.

Yeah, that lack of a clock feature is kicking my ass.

Time to bump an old topic...

In one of the AoF3 threads, I wrote about the birthday secret in the game where a character can do unlimited supers/DMs, and ppl kept asking me about it.

Well, I have some new infos about it. Apparently, the correct birthdays for the charas are:

Ryo - 08/02
Rody - 07/24
Wang - 04/17
Kasumi - 03/29
Karman - 06/13
Robert 12/25
Lenny - 05/20

Set the current MVS date to one of the above, choose the right character and off ye go.

I don't know about the boss birthdays (Sinclair and Wyler), but there's a code to play them, so it may be possible to enter birthdays for them as well.

About birthday secrets on homecart/CD: Only the MVS has a calendar, so you won't be able to input a specific date in order to set a chara to unlimited energy. AFAIK, the birtday secret also exists in the home versions, it just appears randomly.

If you have more info about it, let me know.

According to Galen Komatsu, the Wyler and Sinclair MVS select codes are:

Wyler -
Put the cursor on Robert, then press C, right, C, right, C, etc., until the cursor is on Jin.

Sinclair -
Put the cursor on Jin, then press B, left, B, left, B, etc., until the cursor is on Robert.

If you did it right, you will hear their taunts. Afterwards, and arrow will appear, follow it to select them.

Someone said he had the happy birthday message on AES and a mc plugged in, after choosing Sinclair on her birthday. How is that possible?
