I have an idea. I remember once in school we had these DB15 connectors that had no pins and we had to cut our own wire to make the pins. I think it was brass or so.

Does anyone know where you can buy this wire to make the pins with? This way I can just make the pins a little longer on the NGCD ports.

These should be flat such as this guy... cause they have to sit flush.

I think those are also similar to the ones that someone had posted a guide for modding the old style sticks with.... (i'll have to search back for that one)

Since a lot of places discontinued Gold S-vid panel mount jacks this is another way to make one

    Gold S-video jack:

    http://www.minute-man.com/acatalog/S...and_Jacks.html

Part #30-618, get this and hack off the small tab.

Then use the nut from this:

    http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

So you are looking at a total of around $5-6 for the s-video jack. Not exactly economical but an alternative.

Found another place with possibly better stock:

$3.15 each but no multi discount, I don't know if that's all they have or their cart is just setup that way. Even at 100 units it's still $3.15

    Xian,

if you buy a bunch I will pick up a couple from you. The shipping is just retarded for 1 unit, like $7.50 shipped to my house (minimum).

Hmmm, thing is someone has to make sure behind that plastic is a removable nut like I'm hoping. If it is that would be perfect. You don't want to buy 20 and they're not.

    Who's in Jersey, Hmmm Soniku.

I am going to attempt to hack the monoprice s-video connector, worth a shot for me.....

and that plastic cover should be removable, how is someone supposed to solder to it with a wire??? I would be 99% sure it is possible.

    Sure thing...

Did you find those black screws you were looking for? I was planning to use some them as well and was going to head to the skateboard shop near my house... I can check to see how flat the heads are on those if you are still looking.

Please let us know how the RAM s-video jack is. Also, what black plastic DB-15 ports did you end up using using?
