Final Fantasy IV remake for DS

OMFG!!!

I know we just got this on GBA not too long, but that port was pretty busted.
Hopefully with this one they can get the music right, along with all the fancy new 3D love. I dig the fuck out of the way Cecil looks. Of course, FFIV is my all time fave FF game so I guess I am totally biased. Oy vay.

The SD look is stupid for a game like IV, but whatever.

And why change the logo?
It's the sole reason I bought Chronicles in the first place.

I'd much rather prefer a normal looking Cecil than a dark knight with a bigass head, yes.
I think it's stupid to try and make such a serious game look cute.

And every FF game has 'emo' in it, I don't know why people think VII started the trend.

I was never on-board with the 2D FF games being remade into 3D, but once I saw FFIII on the DS in person, I changed my mind about the whole thing entirely.

I'll get excited about IV receiving the same treatment, that's for sure.

Although I'd prefer to see Chrono Trigger finally getting some portable love.

Remake or straight port, either would do just fine.

Please, God, if Chrono Trigger is remade please let it happen on a system that can actually make 3D look good.

FFIII on the DS was a visually-impressive effort.

Really a lot better than I would've originally thought the system was capable of.

So I'm not sure where you're coming from on this one.

I wasn't really impressed with how ff3 ds turned out, but I didn't really like the source material either. FF4 on the other hand is one of my fav rpgs of all time. I hope my last memories of it aren't of some half baked remake.

The only thing from FFIII that visually impressed me was the cinematic in the commercial.

And while I'd rather it not happen at all, if there were to be a remake, I'd want it looking fantastic, not like something out of the N64 era that happens with every other 3D DS game.

Yet again LoneSage in the minority about something game-related. It's a sad life, Joe. Pity me.

I love FFIV and all...but haven't we played it enough already? Is a fresh coat of paint really going to change that much about how the game plays?

That'll be my fourth copy of the game...and having it played so much, I can't see why I need to play it again.

Regardless, I'll buy it anyway.

I'm with you, for the following reasons:

1) I don't like that SD look either. What is that? FFIII DS didn't look as exaggerated as these screenshots.

2) There is nothing remotely visually impressive about FFIII DS.

However, what it lacks in visual polish it more than makes up for with charm. FFIII DS is just, well, a charming little game, and one of my faves for the system.

I'll probably pick up this version as FFIV Advance is probably my favourite GBA title, and, well, beyond Zelda, it's not like there is anything else of note coming out for the DS.

You should just put it in your sig to same time.

Or, put it in your sig and continue to say it in every post for further emphasis about your disappointment that the DS wasn't made by Sony (if it was I'm sure the lineup would be fabulous.)

I'm so getting stoned for this but I hate the 3d character style in thies screen shots. I love FF4 (4 & 6 are my favorite FF games to date) but i am just really not keen on thies screenshots. The next dragon quest for DS looks far superior but alot of that is because dragon quest art style allows for it to happen.

So I kind of wish they would just go psp with this one or drop it out right.

My first reaction was "How many times should we buy the same old shit, Square?"

However, the 3d job they did on FFIII was fantastic IMO so I think this one will be pretty sweet as well.
