Looks like a stripped Mortal Kombat 3 cab.

Pretty sure it is. SNK didn't release any dedicated standard uprights for the hyper games here in the US that I know of. Believe it was only larger Megalos, and I've never even seen one of those in person. Only US hyper games to look for in dedicated cabs would be Roads Edge and Beast Busters. (Did the second racer even see a release here?)

Would still be a killer deal if you could get the cab for under 200.

Buriki One only used 2 buttons?

What the hell?

The joystick is used for attacks. It's the exact opposite of every video game you've ever played.

Hmm, that actually sounds pretty interesting.

Worth picking up? I know the hyper stuff is relatively cheap...

It's arguably a contender for SNK's best fighter. 2D or otherwise.

That good, eh?

I guess that will go on my ridiculously long wanted list now. Since you seem to know a good bit about it, what should I expect to pay for it?

Loose? No more than 80-90. It's not rare, but not as available as the other three fighters. But most times you find a hyper package for sale, all games are included.

Thanks, that sounds pretty reasonable. I'd want a rev2 motherboard correct?

If you can find one, yeah. They were only released in Japan so getting ahold of one is going to be a little pricier than a rev1. The best idea would be to wait until a member grows bored and wants to sell their whole hyper setup. A great deal of members have them, when Vektorlogic was still operating they sold tons of units.

check ebay once in a while. If you can't wait. Ravengames in the UK apparently has them in stock. Probably overpriced though.

Thanks again. I'll just wait it out until a member here puts up their setup. I watched some SS64 and Buriki videos and I'm quite intrigued.:D

Your conversion looked pretty badass though. Where did it end up? With a member here?

an issue that immediately comes to mind is navigating the service menu without C and D buttons...

that's probably for the super neo II, which a lot of the hypers were in back in 98. Each cab was for one player, and you would have them connected at the back for head to head competitive play.

I sold it to Obot 64 and lost $200 on it.

The only thing it's good for is a bonfire.
