I'm not too familiar with what's out there, but the best one i've seen have to be TFIV.

Panorama Cotton is awesome too.

Any more I should check out?

Hellfire: Some people love this game. I'm not one of them! Worth a try, you may well enjoy it.

Gynoug: This is a really fun, tough shooter. One of my favorites. Some excellent old skool Megadrive music too!

TF3: If you like 4 you'll enjoy 3 too. They both rank as my favourite shooters on the MD and are probably superior to TF5.

Gley Lancer: Fairly good hori, IMHO not as good as the above though.

Gley Lancer is MD's best shoot 'em up, IMO. But this is normally one of the expensives shooters, others you can get very cheap, like those which Martinov mentioned. Price tags are between 15-50$.

Zero Wing isn't really that good. The catch phrase would be the only reason, why I would buy it.

Yeah, it's always good to play (test) some of the gaming history. And that title is definitely one of them.

I quite like Verytex, Battle Mania & Gynoug. As for a non traditional shooter, Gain Ground ROCKS!

Oh, Battle Mania is also very good. I haven't played the sequel yet. It's kinda too expensive. But I have read that it's way more better than first one.

Gaires, Arrow Flash, Air Buster, pretty much anything by Rennovation.

No Eliminate Down or Musha mentions?
Wow.

Never played Musha. I would love to try that and Gley Lancer.

I like the music.

But it reminds me of R-Type... Two damn hard to appreciate.

MUSHA would probably be my number 1 pick

Others I really enjoyed were Gaires (very cool weapon system) and TF3 and 4 (Lightning Force in US I believe) There are tons of good shooters on the Genny.

The music is okay, but yes, I have to admit that it's better than average in older shooters.

RTS with shooting elements.

I'm pretty sure Aero Blasters is Air Buster on Genesis.

You are correct.

Awesome little game. Still one of my favourites.

I'll have to add Twinkle Tale and Crying (aka Bio-Hazard Battle).
