I would buy NITD converted just to play the game. Isn’t this what it’s all about, to play the game. I have been playing and buying NEO GEO games for a long time. Yes, I’m selling some now. But, I will buy it back again. Sure, I have the PSone, PSX 2, DC, and the Intellivision. But, I always go back to the Neo Geo because I love to bash buttons and not because the cart was original. People that care so much about the originality of the games are the same ones that go to Blockbuster and rent games to copy them. I’ll continue to send my games to Jeff to get them converted because my Thai ass is not going to pay 1,500 bones for Metal Slug 1 just to have the original and never play with it. I have my opinions about the US Metal Slug 3 three. I won’t say it because you already know it.

Pichai I have to disagree with your statements. It DOES matter if a home cart is original or not, a lot. While I actually totally agree with your statement about Metal Slug 1 (I had one converted by Jeff too), overall I would ALWAYS prefer to have ORIGINAL SNK PRODUCT, and not a conversion.

It matters if home carts are real, because each one is a work of art in a way. The insert and manual add a lot to the games, and if they're some fake shit made by clowns on their PC and printed on a cheap inkjet printer, they're not worth it. Now if they're really professionally printed, that's OK, but in the case of the fake KOF2K English cart the differences are noticeable and the ugly URL gives them away.

As for the English MS3, you can have your own opinions but I have the cart right here in my room, and I can tell you that it follows all SNK style/format 100%. I don't know why you can't figure that out, maybe you don't like Shawn for some reason but since you don't have the cart, I guess you can't really say eh?

For all the WHINERS here, get over it; the cart is AUTHENTIC SNK ORIGINAL, VERY well done, and its over. Take your toys home if you want to sulk, and in the meantime I'll gladly play with this AUTHENTIC cart and be happy!!

Chimpster,

Now, you know that I get along with everyone here. I have nothing against Shawn. Dealt with him before and it went great. I have my opinions just like you have yours. Nothing against you or anyone here.

Math is always a good way to put things into a perspective. Lets see 500 carts times 285 = $142,500
That’s a lot of money!! Now lets minus some expenditures and lets pretend:

$50 to make the games X 500 = $25,000 could be between $60-$70
$30 Profits to Shawn X 500 = $15,000 maybe $30-$40 markup or more
Crank up the factory = $10,000 that’s cheap
Workers = $40,000 for 6-8 workers at Japanese rate $40,000 might be way too low ($5,000 a person)
Miscellaneous = $10,000 art, ink, press machine, gum and .ect
That’s what - $100,000…SNK DID ALL THIS FOR US FOR ONLY $42,000

I know SNK is broke but, this will not help them. Sorry doesn’t make any sense.

You made a big mistake though. Cart production on this run is likely 2000 carts, not 500. 500 sets of English artwork, 1500 sets of Japanese artwork.

Not sure I agree with the numbers you posted about cart cost, production costs, etc. They don't sound too believable . . .

I think there is yet another aspect of this that keeps getting ignored. Retailers can choose to have their product DROP SHIPPED to their place of business. In other words, the product goes from Japan to NCS's doorstep (as an example). The shipment from Japan isn't receipts, it isn't contracts and it isn't some other "X" variable that someone hasn't thought of yet. The shimpment would consist of carts arriving at the purchasing entity NEVER having ever been touched by Shawn or anyone else that may be affiliated with the Neo Store.

It is true that US vendors did not take advantage of this option for the English MS3. In fact, the MS3 carts that were purchased directly by retailers were all international orders and I have no idea whether or not they chose to drop ship, however, the option was there for Slug 3 and it is still there for Sengoku 3.

Should a vendor choose to have the English version of Sengoku 3 DROP SHIPPED to their door, the item will go from Osaka to their business' doorstep. The sheer logistics of such a purchase and subsequent shipment simply forbid the possibility of Shawn, Apple or anyone else for that matter EVER even touching the merchandise.

Does this prove anything in regard to the MS3 release? No, however I sincerely doubt that The NeoStore would offer a drop ship option for MS3 unless such an option were not available. And like I said, the option is still present for Sengoku 3.

Oh, and Pichai, it looks like SNK is making home carts to me. Songoku 3 is appearing on the SNK Japan web page, and it doesn't appear to be the MVS version they are pushing. Zupapa seems to be the MVS highlight right now. However, I freely admit that I could be wrong on that as I cannot read the Japanese. Just an observation. Can you read the text in regard to Sengoku 3 on the SNK Japan page? I know you're not Japanese, but thought I would ask.

Hey this US MS3 does not smell like the original MS3 JPN cart.

What does this mean?

It looks professionally done.

Arrrh, I don't really care.
