Been listening to a lot of different things the last few hours. Started off with...

y2kindiatechno0xn.jpg

*India Techno/Dance music. Have no idea what she's saying but
it sounds fucking bad ass. Just found this lying around after years
of thinking it was lost.

aeonfluxost6vb.jpg

All the great and outlandish music from the MTV Liquid TV
shorts to the entire 10 episode TV series. AEON's more
than the edge.

and as of right now I'm listening to...

gitsmegatechbody2bi.jpg

*Awesome Techno soundtrack from the Playstation game.

Seems I'm in a "Soundtrack" mood tonight. Just got done listening to...

ridingbeanost8ms.jpg

*Great Jazzy soundtrack + "Bad Girl" by Andrea Robinson
still kicks ass in 2005, though albeit on the slightly cheesy side,
but sometimes cheesy is good. Hard to belive this anime is from
1988 and this OST from a 1993 release.

As of right now I am listening to the soundtrack to one of my fave
movies of all time that doesn't get enough respect...

...and after this sucka' is finished, I'm loading up...

Been working on the Sega-Spetsnaz website offline while listening to the following...

metalgearost6ax.jpg

*Midi Music yes, but bad ass none the less. OST came with the "Silver" edition of Metal Gear Solid in Japan in 1997. Part of the reason I had originally bought it.

metalgearsolidost2ir.jpg

Great music to just get "in a Tom Clancy" mode in when writing a book, and while I love the Harry Gregson Williams stuff from the MGS 2 & MGS 3 I always liked this score a bit better for some reason.

baccaraih7ov.jpg

*An old girlfriend of mine from early 2000 introduced me to this heavily English accented duo from the 1970s. Guess their sound is comparable to stuff like ABBA but much better IMO. *They're song "Bad Boys" is hilarious to listen to, and the chicks were hot for the times. This is one of those CDs you can just put on for background noise mostly. I listen more out of nostalgia for a small period of Storm Riding I did with Azure and the old guard I ran with.

karenwells8tf.jpg

This woman sings in the "Folk Style" similar to that of Jewel only much more talanted IMO. She's local and I haven't seen her put on a gig in years, thus this might be her only CD. Good to mellow out to if you're not looking to destroy the house or get ready for a fight.

rookiecard2nf.jpg

long time M.I.A. NG.Com member Sklabah is in this group, and gave me a demo of their music during a PC-Engine / AES Cart trade we conducted. For the 4 songs on the disc, it's not bad still need to see if they've got a full album out.

Currently listening to...

duaneeddy0xl.jpg

Classic "Fuck You" instrumental rock by one of the legends right up there with Link Ray. His title song "Rebel Rouser" has got that southern twang on the guitar + some sleaze to it that guys in the 50's would listen to before heading out to a rumble. Fuckin' love this shit!

I'm listening to the mp3s I ripped awhile back from my copy of the Pixies' Sufer Rosa.

I must've been interrupted partway through because most of the album's encoded in VBR and the other part is in 128kbps.

As of 8:44PM Central time, I listen to that that matches the melancholy of my soul...

straydogost0vk.jpg

*A haunting musical score by composer Kenji Kawai, and hard to
believe it comes from such an odd film. Seems it would be more
fitting for a "Beat" Takeshi Kitano film, but if one has seen the movie
it actually is a perfect fit. Only those who understand true solitude
and how time has no meaning can feel this powerful score's message
even without having seen the film... and in some cases it might be a
good thing.

A 2CD-album by the band Morticians called Mutilation Recreation. Really good oldschool industrial/ebm or dark electro as most people prolly would call it today.

Haven´t seen any reviews around yet but Music non stop had a pretty good writeup. http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk/store/x35755.html

Well worth checking out for fans of oldschool dark electronics.

it's really good. listen to it in the dark w/headphones...

i gave it a listen about 2 nights ago, and it really did sound like something that would take a few listens to get into. i love the mellow parts, the guitar work and the drumming...which is set mostly to a marching beat. its almost as if it has a 'marching' feel to it....

almost as if it were made for a soldier marching into combat, ready for the unknown.

Tonight I'm in a more laid back mood, thus I'm going through some oldies but goodies as far a movie OSTs go. As of right now I'm in a Jazz mood and listening to the odd but nice score by Daisaku Kume for the 1989 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano film Violent Cop. Picked this sucka up from CD JAPAN back in '98.

Still in a Jazzy mood tonight. Just got done listening to...

hardboiledost8no.jpg

Awesome Score by Michael Gibbs + my OST was signed by
Chow Yun-Fat himself, so it's that much cooler for me. Seems like
another lifetime ago. What sucks is that Tequila's clarinet solo from
the opening of the film isn't on the CD... because that was actually
CYF playing it. Guess you can't have it all.

johnnyreno0018to.jpg

First learned about this guy in the Robert Rodriguez film
Road Racers, found out he's got a bunch of stuff out and he's
damn good. Jazz w. Swing + Blues.

Listening to as or right now: (below)

johnnyreno0022yq.jpg

*More "Swing" than Jazz on this one, equally good though.
