I'm becoming less and less impressed with Dragonforce the more I listen to them. Sure they are fast, but as for composing there are much better bands IMO. Getting tired of the sound effects herman Li uses. They are fast for the sake of being fast. Nothing more.

Alot of people can shred:

take this guy for example of sweep picking master work

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7m3aIuGlUg

That's not what I wanted to highlight. I love their music not because it's fucking fast, even if it's part of the deal, but really because I find their soli really innovative and I simply love the music. I don't find that it's shred for shred. But I perfectly can understand that you think the other way.

Anyway, Hibria's a great band, the CD usually is in my playlist ATM.

Need I say more?

No, please don't say anymore.

If the above post was not a joke, you really need some help kid...

Sadly I am afraid that the below CD's that I have listed do not have the gun toting, Air Force 1 inspired lyrics of your current favorites. If you can get over this, then try these for starters: (The below albums actually feature real emcees, DJ's, and beats.)

Funky DL: The Classic Fantasy
Five Deez: Kommunicator
Five Deez: Koolmotor
Pase Rock: Bullshit as Usual
Buckshot: LeFonque
Talib Kweli & Mos Def: Blackstar
Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek: Reflection Eternal
Gangstarr: Full Clip, A decade of Gangstarr
Nujabes: Modal Soul
Nujabes: Metaphorical Music
Nujabes & Shing02: Luv Sic Pt. 1-3 (Singles)
Algorithm: Dawn of a New Error

Sting - Shape of my heart

Bjork - Venus as a boy.

Please don't laugh, those 2 songs are from my favorite movie in the world, Leon: The Professional.

As I opened this thread I was listening to the song "zeppo" from Santity on their myspace page - http://www.myspace.com/sanctity

It's pretty good, oldschool thrash.

Ha! You have no idea how much this both shocked and pleased me to see you post this. I've known Sanctity since before they were a band. The founder/lead guitar (Zeff) is one of my brother's best friends since middle school.

Really man? My friend actually saw them in concert with a bunch of other well-known bands. If you ever talk to Zeff, tell them they have a new fan in Oklahoma. I really dig their oldschool thrash sound. I can definitely see them maturing into a huge force in the metal scene.
