Excuse me if it was already posted...

Anyone here digs/knows the PC shooters from ABA Games (Kenta Cho's studio)

They are simple, wireframe shooters, only for high scores. They are impressve looking, and have interesting bullet patterns. A good and fun training ground for shooter players in general.

We can exchange some high scores here ;)

EDIT:

Links to the games pages (in english):

Torus Trooper (impressive runner-shooter):

Tumiki Fighters (check out the "grab-the-enemy" system):

Parsec47 (insane speed):

A7Xpg (meh):

rRootage (boss fights galore):

Noiz2sa (my favorite):

Wok (arkanoid-type game, very addictive):

All games have a readme file in english, with instructions.

ABA was talked about a few times in the original All About Shooters thread, but its nice to have a separate thread for this.

Noiz2sa is my favorite as well.
Torus Trooper comes in at a close second.
A7Xpg is very good, I think (I see it as a next-gen Pac Man).
rRootage, to me, is the most boring/uninspired/overrated of the ABA shooters (that said, its still a very good shooter).
parsec47 is also pretty nice, mostly thanks to the Lock mode.
Wok is ok every now and then, but gets very repetitive.
Tumiki Fighters is good, but a little too gimmicky for my tastes.

Oh, and you forgot to mention "Masashikun Hai!". Also fun to play once in a while.

Some of my high scores :

Noiz2sa :
(All 10 levels cleared)
Endless = 9878780
Endless Hard = 6286630
Endless Extreme = 3266640
Endless Insane = 3451300

A7Xpg : 30560

Torus Trooper : Extreme = Level 101 / 1-16 = 6241776

I'll add more later.

Oh, a note to my fellow Mac users :
Noiz2sa, Torus Trooper, A7Xpg, Wok, Tumiki Fighters, and parsec47 are all available for the Mac.

Some of these (as well as a few other non-ABA games) can be downloaded here: http://shinh.skr.jp/osxbin/

My "innovation" (paraphrasing Mushiki) loves Tumiki Fighters ;)

Torus Trooper is my close second, too.

I digged the whole rRootage concept - boses only, mimicking a lot of other shooter styls (Ikaruga, as example). But the bullet patterns could be more creative.

Yes, I forgot "Masashikun Hai!". Cool concept. But I didn't took my time to learn the minigame controls, yet.

Since I didn't cleared enough stages of those games, so I'll post my scores when I have something better to show :p

I've downloaded Noiz2sa, Tumiki Fighters and Gunroar, but only tried Noiz2sa so far... ...and I really dig it a lot, it's quite "Cave-esque" with that slowdown button and collecting aspect. The music isn't too shabby as well. In short, a very impressive PC shmup release, given that it's free software.

Thanks for the links, guys.

It remembers me the Area2048, from another link post by Hentai Sama.
That's the same type of shooter? I dig that one a lot.

Gunroar is more like a mix between Warning Forever and Parsec 47, although it is still rather unique. Area 2048 is great too.

Current Gunroar high score : 6161533

I dont know if its me or my new mac but Noiz2sa just doesn't seem "right".

Also I need a controller, any recomendations for a mac? I wonder if an xbox 360 one would work...

As far as my favorites here they go

Noiz2as
Rrootage
Parsec47 (I couldnt get that much into it because my old computer didn't handle it very well)

And I cant even look at Torus Troopers because it makes me really sick.

How so? Is it the speed? The bullet patterns?

I've played both the PC and Mac versions quite a bit. I get pretty much the same scores on both.

I bought an X360 controller to use on both my Mac and PC, but there currently is no official Mac driver for the controller.
There is a 3rd party OSX driver for it here, but its still in the very early stages of development.
I have not been able to get it to work under Mac OS 10.3.9, but many others with 10.4 and above have reported that it works for them.
OSX USB input apps like Gamepad Companion and USB Overdrive do not recognize it without the driver installed.

Still, the controller is very good. Almost as good as the Saturn pads. Use it all the time on my PC laptop.

noiz2sa and torus trooper are now tied as my favorites, with gunroar coming in 2nd.

The enemy movement seems like its a little choppy to me in Noiz2sa.

I tested out Torus Troopers at my college first, only played for like 30 seconds and then I had the worst headache and felt really dizzy for the rest of the day.

Never noticed anything wrong with the enemies in mine. Maybe something in 10.4 slows it down...It can't be OpenGL since this game doesn't use that...Hmm...

Wow, sorry to hear that. I guess playing games like Descent back in the day helped me get used to stuff like that.

That's official: Hentai Sama is my second choice in marriage, losing only to Kenta Cho himself :buttrock:
