i think the coolest thing i've seen was this guy in an f-350 just stop in the middle of the street, and burn out so hard it was rediculous. the tire marks were there after like 5 months and the smoke was just covering the sky. it was so badass.
I saw a dude with an SVT Lightning do a fucking massive burnout a couple of weeks ago. Very fucking cool.

Question -

Favourite cars, ever.

Answer!
the 1975 international scoutII. for a car company that faded from making vehicles for the regular driver and now makes semi trucks international has lasted a long time. but one car that they made that has always stood out to me more than anything else was the scoutII. that car was large, brawny, burly, and intense in it's size. it was an early SUV that could have it's top removed and become a truck/convertible. it was a 4-wheel drive menace that had ground clearance enough to clear whatever you threw at it. and the international V-8 engine with more than 300 horsepower was something incredible for a car from the 70's. solid steel brick with the potential for greatness. sadly the line faded from existence in 1980, but to me the international scoutII will always be the car, the beast, and the true heartbeat of america, sorry chevy.

My bad - I meant "production" cars ;)
You still have to give me my Delta S4 since there are over 200 of them that were made for selling. And you also have to give me the 288 GTO Evoluzione since it was intended for mass production, but only 5 were made and thus becoming so rare that I bet it doesn't even have an actual value. The Enzo is also another you must let me have. ;)

And if you don't want me to have my Toyota Corolla WRC, I'll take the Toyota Corolla XRS. :D

Didn't you know that Ferrari > Mercedes-Benz? ;)

.fixed

I know, I know - but the whole Enzo "exclusivity" thing is stupid, and for some reason I am growing tired of that specific car.

Don't worry, I am still the Ferrari nut, but the amazing SLR has been growing on me, a lot.

1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL-1
Not exactly the pinnacle of muscle, but the pinnacle of muscle car era sports cars to me, the Corvette has always been a bit more about finesse than raw power but on this occassion it hides a beast under its shell. 1 of 2 built

2005 Lotus Exige
The performance specs on this amaze me, only a V6 (a straight 4 in the Elise) it outperforms 200k exotics on the track.

An interesting story behind this modified Lincoln Continental, also the car where JFK was killed

Not a fan of Japanse cars I'll be honest but this one amazes me.

you guys were supposed to pick a favorite CAR, not CARS. there was no S or wait...was there? i don't remember, but the fact is i feel like bitching and bumping the thread. let's talk for a minute a car i deem as a sleeper car but most deem as a minivan. the honda odyssey minivan. it's got 255 horsepower, a V-tec V6 engine, and yeah it's heavy, but lighten the thing a bit and you have a big, honkin, sleeper car, with plenty of power, and quite a few ponies under the hood.

Looks like a large Honda Fit.

Too bad it's a minivan - VTEC is good.

i'm still hoping for a new supra body style that doesn't look all round and goofy. i want more right angles... that or a new corolla hatchback with the turbo like the old VR6 corollas from the 80's.

You need to wait for that new Toyota/Lexus LF-A. That will fucking rock and shut some people up when it does.

I'm pretty sure it's a V10 with 500+hp. Now that rocks.

Redesigned Mitsubishi Eclipse should sticker just below outgoing model; vehicle to hit showrooms by June

102287

The redesigned 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse is expected to go on sale by Memorial Day with a sticker slightly below the current model.

The base sticker of the Eclipse, Mitsubishi's best-known model, is anticipated to be about $20,000, including freight. That would be about $275 less than the current model. Mitsubishi has not released official prices.

"No vehicle in our lineup has been as successful" as the Eclipse, said Rich Gilligan, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, at a press event here on April 25.

Mitsubishi is desperate for a hit. Its U.S. sales plummeted 39.3 percent through the first three months of this year. Sales of the Eclipse dropped 27.5 percent to 3,132 in the same period. The car accounted for 9.1 percent of the brand's total sales.

Gilligan would not speculate on Eclipse sales but said the company's plant in Normal, Ill., has a capacity of 42,000 annually on one shift. The company sold 12,012 Eclipses in 2004 and 27,897 in 2003. The numbers exclude the Eclipse Spyder.

The redesigned Eclipse comes in two models, the GS and the GT.

The GS comes with a 2.4-liter, 162-hp four-cylinder engine with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The current four-cylinder engine makes 147 hp.

The GT has a 3.8-liter, 263-hp V-6 with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. The current 3.0-liter V-6 makes 200 hp in the GT and 210 hp in the GTS.

The GT will have a base price below $25,000, including freight.

The redesigned Eclipse has more interior room and a new 650-watt audio system.

The company expects the GT to account for 65 percent of sales. The primary customers will be split equally between singles and married couples aged 25 to 35.

The ad campaign begins June 12.
