I use Whitey a lot. He's incredibly powerful. Mao Mao is fun and so is Hi-En. He's horribly weak but fast and as goes our philosophy, as long as you can avoid what's coming at you (ie. with a fast craft) you can eventually destroy anything. The homing missiles really help out too.
I've gotten to Mission 8 or 9 on my own I think. Still trying to out-do my brother's 1-credit 14-Mission play. And failing at it.

Ditto, they're both hardcore in my book.
Pretty fun game, and probably the only shooter that I've spent more than a few hours playing at a time (sorry... not my genre.)
I can usually get up to Mission 6 or 7 on one credit, but that's pushing it, because by that time my bullet dodges are more luck than they are skill.
