AAA on Galavision TV Report

By: Xavier Hernandez
Show aired on: 09/06/2008

The announcers welcome us to this very short show from Ciudad Madero, and they hype the "Alas de Oro" tournament. Video from last week's show: Mini Charlie Manson defeated Jerrito to move to the next round of the Mini's tourney. The Morenos beat the Apaches, and even challenges were made. The Chessman/Cibernetico saga continued (that's not true, they didn't even show up last week). The Legion was defeated by Gronda and company. For this show, a crappy Triple threat Tag Team match, and the super awesome "Alas de Oro" tournament, exclusive for high flyiers.

*Pretaped Segment: Part 1 of the meeting at Manson's house. Manson tells Cibernetico that the second reason for so many e-mails, is that fans don't want the Hell Brothers to split (the first one is Manson's recovery). Ciber says it's not up to him to fix the situation, and it's Chessman's fault. Chessman arrives and even ignores Ciber for a while. Manson asks Chessman to reconsider his decision and rejoin the HBs. Manson says his heart is broken because he can't do anything in a wheelchair, so he really begs Chessman to rejoin the group.

1) Billy Boy, Argenis & Baby Rap vs. Tito Santana, Tigre Cota & Rio Bravo

-First Fall: Very short match. The heels do a modified Carreta, but Rap does a sick Hurricanrana on the guy on top. The three tecnicos do simultaneous suicide dives on every heel outside the ring. Back in the ring, Billy kicks out of a Hurricanrana applied by Santana. Bily lands outside, and Santana does a Hilo over the top. Bravo also lands outside, and Argenis does an Asai Moonsault. Cota also hits a suicide dive on Argenis, and Rap does an AWESOME Shooting Star Press on every man at ringside. In the ring, Billy does the Vertabreaker on Santana for the cover.

Winners: Billy Boy, Argenis & Baby Rap

2) AAA Mini Championship (Qualifying Match #6)
Mascarita Divina (w/Mascara Divina) vs. Mini Kenzo Suzuki (w/Big Kenzo Suzuki)

Prematch Comments: Mini Kenzo says he's representing Big Kenzo in the mini division, and bows to win the first AAA Mini title. Divina says the title must be his, even if he has to beat the new japanese kid.

-First Fall: Sidewalk Slam by MiniKenzo on divina. Big Kenzo also joins the beating from ringside, but Big Divina goes after him. Divina does a dropkick to the head of MiniKenzo for the two count. Springboard Crossbody by Divina on Kenzo for the two again. Kenzo kicks out of a Small Package from Divina. MiniKenzo distracts the referee, and Big Kenzo tosses Divina into the barricade. Big Kenzo returns Divina to the ring, and MiniKenzo covers.

Winner: Mini Kenzo Suzuki

*Noti AAA:
-Second Part of the meeting at Manson's house. Chessman is still pissed off to the fact that Ciber had the chance to burn Mesias, and he didn't do it. Ciber says he has his own reasons, and will soon reveal to Chessman why he didn't burn Mesias. He only says that he knows Mesias since his childhood (really?).
-On "luchalibreaaa.com", there is a series of questions. Answer them rcorreclty and you win two tickets for "Verano de Escandalo", everyone living on both Mexico and the US are eleigible.
-Jesus Zuniga interviews Joaquin Roldan. He says the Konnan case will take along time, and hopes that Konnan will get desperate and will quit AAA. He's tired of Konnan, so that's why he made the rule of: "not booked for a show, then you're banned". Roldan is also giving Zorro a chance to wrestle, but he has a surprise in store for him. Roldan also discusses "VdE", and has no favorite for the title match.
-One more reminder for the keys for Antonio Pena's statue.

*Pretaped Segment: Billy is dressing, and asks Apache to leave him alone. The Apache sisters arrive, and Apache suggests to Billy that they should all go for dinner. Billy refuses the invitation, and tells Apache to invite somebody else. Fabi asks her dad to leave Billy alone, because they have a match next. Apache still asks Mari to investigate the whole deal with Fabi and Billy. On the other hand, Hechicera makes fun of the Morenos, but Oriental shuts her up. The Morenos accept her friendship, only to finish the Apaches.

3) Los Apaches (El Apache, Fabi Apache & Mari Apache) vs. El Oriental, Cinthia Moreno & La Hechicera

-First Fall: The heels start dominating the Apaches. Oriental climbs the scaffold and does a Moonsault on both Cinthia and Fabi. Hecchicera misses a corner splash, and Apache does his traditional chops on every heel in sight. The comeback begins and the Apaches are under control. Mari hits a Senton off the apron to take out Hechicera. Cinthia locks La Rueca on Fabi, but Apache breaks the hold. apache accidentally slaps Fabi, and the Morenos are back. Oriental hits a suicide dive on Apache. In the ring, Cinthia pins Fabi with a School Girl, after Oriental smashed Fabi's neck through the ropes.

Winners: El Oriental, Cinthia Moreno & La Hechicera

*Promo Video: This one hypes the participants of the "Alas de Oro" tournament. Everyone wants to win to become the best highflyier, except the Harts. The Americans only want to prove that AAA sucks, and they bow to destroy everyone, just to send Roldan a message.

4) Alas de Oro (Golden Wings) Tournament
Dark Scoria vs. Ultimo Gladiador vs. Aerostar vs. Superfly vs. Gato Eveready vs. El Angel vs. Extreme Tiger vs. Jack Evans vs. Teddy Hart

-Match: Simple, the last man standing leaves with the trophy. Everyone attacks each other, and with the exception of the Harts, there are no alliances. Everyone does some very impressive aerial moves to begin the match. Gato does a Corkscrew Crossbody on Tiger, and Angel does a Diving Plancha on Scoria. Evans does a Springboard 450 Splash on Gladiador, whowas outside. Fly also lands outside, and Hart delivers a sick Springboard Moonsault on him. Aerostar hits a Springboard Backward Senton on every guy outisde. Fly delivers his trademark Cartwheel Moonsault on Hart, and Gladiador does the Asai Moonsault on Scoria. Tiger sets Gladiador at ringside, and hits the 450 Splash.

-Eliminations: Hart pins Gato with the Hartbreaker, then pins Angel with the Canadian Destroyer and the Open Hart Surgery. Gladiador hits a Piledriver on Hart, and pins him with a Diving Legdrop. Gladiador gets stuck in the ropes, and Tiger pins him with a Diving Stomp. Scoria does a Corkscrew Crossbody on Fly, but gets pinned with a German Suplex from Fly. Evans hits a Northern Lights Suplex and a Fisherman Suplex on Fly, and pins him with the 630 Senton. Evans also pins Tiger with an innovative Bridging Backslide. Evans does his Cartwheel Dive, but Aerostar moves. Aerostar does the sick Drowsy Dive (or Suicide Headbutt), on the eliminated Hart, cutting his face in the process. Back in the ring, Evans misses his Corkscrew 630 Senton, and Aerostar pins him with the Stardust Senton (better name than Springboard Backward Senton).

Winner: Aerostar

-Aftermath: Roldan gives Aerostar the trophy, and yes, Evans did kick out before the three count. Unfair finish, but awesome match.

*Pretaped Segment: Alebrije and Gato are discussing Porky's depression, when Elvis shows up. Porky says he's all fired up, because it's his last match. Gato asks Alebrije to keep calling "that person". On the other hand, the Metrosexuales are making fun of Porky, and Brazo calls Porky a coward. Decnnis and Guapito say they finally found the third member of the group.

5) Los Metrosexuales (El Brazo, Decnnis & Escorpion Negro w/Guapito) vs. Brazo de Plata, El Elegido & Alebrije (w/Cuije)

-First Fall: Porky is already bleeding buckets, courtesy of El Brazo. Guapito misses the corner splash, and Porky uses his belly to start the coemback. The Metros are tossed out of the ring, and Guapito is splashed by Porky. Both Elegido and Alebrije do simultaneous suicide dives on Decnnis and Escorpion. Brazo brings a chair to attack the tecnicos. Both Brazos are left alone inside the ring. Porky slams both Metrtos, but Brazo attacks him. The remaining Metros join the beating, and the referee awards the DQ for excessive punishment.

Winners: Brazo de Plata, El Elegido & Alebrije

6) Hell Brothers (Cibernetico & Chessman) vs. Mesias & Dark Cuervo vs. Konnan & Kenzo Suzuki

-First Fall: Konnan is the replacement for Zorro, and Ciber is using Heath Ledger's makeup for Joker. Every team attacks each other, and even chairs are brought. Konnan is tossed into a steel chair, and Mesias rolls him, but the Cuban kicks out at two. The HBs finally unite and attack Konnan as a tag team. Mesias stops the momentum of the HBs. Silver King arrives to attack Konnan with a chair. Silver kicks Konnan out of the arena, and Kenzo is pinned with Mesias' STH. The HBs are back in action, and they attack the heels. The crowd is going nuts with the HBs, who are on fire. Cuervo is taken out with a devastating Spear from Chessman, but Mesias also spears Chessman. Cibernetico hist the CiberChokeslam on Mesias for the three count.

Winners: Cibernetico & Chessman

FINAL COMMENTS: Overall, a very good show. The matches were heavily edited, with the exception of the Golden Wings, but it didn't really bother me. Short AAA shows are always awesome. Baby Rap is just a phenomenal athlete, so keep an eye on this guy. Both Evans and Aerostar deserved the title, and I didn't like the finish. This may set a program between these two, which would be fantastic. Apparently thr HBs are back together, but the question is "For how long?". This may be the best feud that AAA has booked in the last couple of years. That's my humble opinion.

Feedback is always welcomed at elcidphoenix88_spainful@hotmail.com

Thanks!!!

TemJin's comments: Jack Evans did kick out before the three count but got screwed non-kayfabe...somehow i hope this turns out to be AAA's own little "Montreal Incident". nonetheless it was as awsome a show as reported and Cibernetico looked great in the Joker makeup. :buttrock:

Again, thanks for the AAA report :buttrock:

I'm heading out of town starting tonight (Vegas time for me!!!!) and I won't be back online here probably until Saturday night so I won't be posting the ECW, Impact! and Smackdown results per usual. If someone else here would like to cover me on those, please feel free to do so. Of course I'll be taping them all while I'm gone so as not to miss any of the action ;)

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 9-9-08

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link t Caldwell's complete report). Condensed to in-ring results only.

1 -- EVAN BOURNE vs. JOHN MORRISON (w/The Miz)

Really nice mat work early on with Bourne trying to maintain control over Morrison, then he busted out a roundhouse kick on Morrison. Striker earned points saying Bourne has had a meteoric rise in WWE similar to Sarah Palin. Morrison blocked a kick from Bourne, then he tried to ground him. Grisham quoted Morrison that he thinks Bourne is over-hyped and under-tanned. That was great. Action moved to the floor where Bourne flung Morrison onto the mat with a Petey Williams-esque huracanrana leading to break.

Miz gave Morrison the advantage behind the ref's back, then Bourne tried to come back with a springboard splash, but Morrison ducked and Bourne ate the mat. Morrison went on the advantage and used his "chiseled abdominal muscles," as Striker put it, to launch Bourne overhead and throat-first across the top rope. Morrison grounded him again with a Russian legsweep, then he went to work on the upper body with mat work. He then chucked Bourne to the floor and stalked Bourne before punting him in the gut. Back in the ring, Morrison continued to work over Bourne with a nice ground-based attack. Bourne then kicked his way back to his feet and nailed a kick to the head to rally the crowd behind him. Bourne then snapped off a running head scissors and back elbow smash into back kick for a nearfall.

Bourne tried to finish off Morrison with a standing moonsault, but Morrison got his knees up and Bourne ate boot. Morrison tried to finish him off with a running knee strike to the head, but Bourne kicked out in time. Morrison wanted the corkscrew moonsault out of the corner, but Bourne moved. Bourne tried to take advantage by going up top, but Miz jumped on the apron to distract Bourne. Morrison took advantage by giving Bourne a springboard thrust kick to the face that knocked Bourne silly onto the apron. Morrison then dragged Bourne into the ring and made the cover for the win. Grisham and Striker showed concern for Bourne, who sold being knocked out cold. A medic checked on Bourne post-match before they cut to a video package on the Finlay vs. Knox feud.

WINNER: Morrison in 14:00. Nice match. Wasn't particularly flashy, but Morrison played a good heel while Bourne got the crowd involved as the sympathetic babyface character. Good formula match to give Morrison a credible victory and set up Bourne for revenge. (**1/2)

2 -- JACK SWAGGER vs. JOSH DANIELS

Swagger was very smiley, which Striker pointed out. Crowd became restless, which made Swagger more aggressive trying to give Josh a piece of his New Super Initiative program. Swagger then pumphandled Josh into a sit-out powerbomb - the Blue Thunder Bomb, as Striker called it - and made the cover for the win.

WINNER: Swagger in 2:00. Interesting. Swagger has a good look to him with size and height, but a WWE crowd in 2008 probably isn't looking to cheer him.

3 -- ECW champion MATT HARDY & FINLAY (w/Hornswoggle) vs. MARK HENRY (w/Tony Atlas) & MIKE KNOX (w/unshaven beard)

Henry quickly used his size advantage to pummel Hardy on the mat and in the corner. Henry then telegraphed the giant elbow drop and Hardy moved out of the way in time. They cut to a break with Hardy still in peril.

Finlay took the hot tag out of the break and started going after his rival, Knox. Finlay torpedoed Knox in the corner before landing a rolling gut buster. He absorbed an elbow smash, then clotheslined Knox over the top rope to the floor. Fans chanted "E-C-dub" as Finlay followed on the outside. However, after rolling Knox into the ring, Knox caught him with a bicycle kick smash on Finlay. Heels then started working over Finlay aggressively in their corner until Hardy finally got the hot tag at 10:00.

Hardy hit the side effect on Knox, who was bleeding from the jaw, then Hardy nailed a moonsault from the second rope. Henry broke up a pin, but Hornswoggle and Finlay ran their classic interference to set up Finlay with a shillelagh blow on Henry. Hardy followed with the Twist of Fate Knox for the pin and the win. Afterward, Henry quickly tried to make his exit while clutching his head in pain, and the babyface trio celebrated the win to close the show.

WINNERS: Hardy & Finlay in 11:00. Basic, formula match to close the show. Pretty much went as expected, and we'll probably see Henry with the upper hand on next week's show to keep it even-steven to set up a probable one-on-one title match at the next PPV. (*1/2)

TNA Impact! Results: 9-11-08

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). Condensed here to in-ring results only.

1 -- ABYSS vs. CHRISTIAN CAGE

Abyss quickly shook up Christian with a rear end splash in the corner after landing several body blows. Abyss followed with a lift-up slam to continue dominating one of the contenders to the TNA Title at the PPV. Abyss wanted another corner splash, but Christian moved and fired up a round of clotheslines that led to an elbow smash from the second rope for a nearfall. Christian wanted a top rope frog splash, but Kane...er...Abyss guzzled him around the neck for a chokeslam attempt. Christian slipped out initially, but Abyss got him with the chokeslam on a second attempt. West with a good question of whether this was a smart move from Christian to take the open challenge this close to the PPV. Christian then came back with the Unprettier, but Angle and Booker T stormed the ring to beat up Christian and cause a DQ.

WINNER: No Contest in 4:00. As expected, a non-finish to a match between two semi-main event wrestlers. Fine set up for the tag match to follow... (*)

2 -- AWESOME KONG (w/Raisha Saeed) vs. ROXXI -- Bimbo Brawl

Kong quickly went on the attack here. She nearly smashed Roxxi with a shopping cart, then Roxxi tried to fight back as they went to a commercial early in the second hour.

They returned from break with Kong doing a number on Roxxi, only to accept a series of trashcan lid blows to the head. Roxxi then followed with a kick to the chest that knocked over Kong for a nearfall. Plenty of offense for Roxxi here. She then casually picked up Kong, who fired off a smashing clothesline. Kong delivered a scoop slam onto a chair, then she went to the second rope and missed with a big splash. Roxxi followed with a pin, but Kong kicked out. Roxxi made a mistake of arguing with the ref, then Kong chucked the chair into Roxxi's head that opened up a cut on Roxxi's forehead. Kong decided to put her out of her mercy with an Awesomebomb on Roxxi for the decisive pin. Just a nasty cut on Roxxi, who was spilling blood all over the mat.

WINNER: Kong in 7:00 with TV. Roxxi had good offense to keep Kong honest, but that cut on the forehead was a bit much. (*)

3 -- SAMOA JOE'S KEVIN NASH GAUNTLET CHALLENGE

Devine tried to attack Joe, but Joe quickly cut him off and nailed a Samoan Drop for the decisive pin for the first challenge victory. Lance Rock then came out with Christy Hemme and Jimmy Rave to provide the second challenge. Rock missed with a top rope splash after Joe did a classic nonchalant side-step before running off Rave and Hemme from distraction. Rock then found himself in the rear naked choke and he tapped out to Joe. Nash clapped, then Joe stared back at him with a tough stare.

Time for the third challenge from Nash. Borash slowly built it up, then brought out Tomko. Joe didn't react much, with Nash intently looking at Joe's reaction. Tomko slowly made his way to the ring with a big grin, then Joe and Tomko traded blows to start things off. Tomko then tried to come back with a Nash powerbomb, but Joe flipped him over on the mat and caught Tomko with an E. Honda front slam out of the corner. Joe then nailed the Muscle buster in center ring and made the cover for the decisive victory.

Afterward, Nash slowly entered the ring and delivered the Scott Hall double arm extension to Joe for an "old school" acknowledgement. Nash then took the mic and said Joe proved him wrong. He said Joe is more ready and he feels sorry for those SOBs in Toronto. Nash said he's taught Joe all he knows and he's on his own now. Nash shook hands with Joe, then they embraced in center ring. Joe looked a touch emotional, then Nash leaned down to kiss him on the forehead. Nash slowly left the ring with the camera following him all the way out the tunnel as Joe watched from inside the ring. Joe then saluted the crowd before holding up the TNA Title belt for everyone to see.

WINNER: Joe in 7:00. That certainly felt the culmination of a long journey of screaming promos, annoying Joe, frustrated Nash, and distraction-filled matches. It definitely seemed like Nash walking off into the sunset after trying to bring Joe to his level of mental superiority. Nice segment focused on the ass-kicking Joe we want to see. (*)

4 -- BOOKER T (w/Sharmell) & KURT ANGLE vs. MATH MORGAN & ABYSS

Abyss landed a big boot on Angle in the opening two minutes, but Booker broke up a pin attempt. The action broke down with Morgan and Abyss in control as they cut to break.

Angle and Morgan were squaring off out of the break, then Morgan no-sold a punch and landed a scoop slam on Angle. From behind on the apron, Booker smashed Morgan in the back to cut him off, then Angle and Booker started working over Morgan in their corner. Abyss took the hot tag at 9:00, then the action broke down. Booker ran into a Black Hole Slam from Abyss, but Abyss was too worn out to make the pin. Suddenly, Team 3D came to ringside and smashed Abyss in the head with a chair. Angle then covered Abyss for the pin. Afterward, Morgan freaked out while Angle and 3D celebrated on the floor.

WINNERS: Angle & Booker in 10:00. Basic pre-PPV main event with interference to lead into the PPV. Silver lining, as it seems every month, is that the babyface(s) have a reason to seek comeuppance. (*1/4)

WWE Smackdown Results: 9-12-08

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Keller's complete report). Condensed here to in-ring results only.

1 -- NATALYA & MARYSE & VICTORIA vs. MARIA & MICHELLE MCCOOL & BRI BELLA

As Tazz talked up Natalya's power, Ross told him just not to bring up her hips because that could be seen as mean. Okay, maybe in the WWE universe Natalya's hips are considered big, but she's hardly got big hips based on the reality of what real women living real lives look like. Out of nowhere, Bri pinned Victoria with a fisherman's suplex.

WINNERS: Mara & Bri & McCool in 5:00.

STAR RATING: 1/2*

2 -- R-TRUTH vs. CHAVO GUERRERO (w/Bam Neely)

R-Truth rapped his way to the ring through the crowd. Was he rapping to a different song than played because he's so of. He then did his Elaine Bennis dance in the ring. As George Costanza called it, "Full body dry heaves set to music." Seriously, put Elaine's dance on You Tube next to a replay of R-Truth's dance on your TV screen. It's uncanny. Chavo hit the Three Amigos as 3:00. The crowd booed for two reasons. Chavo then went to the top rope. Tazz said, "Someone is feeling froggy." I could live without that phrase. When R-Truth met Chavo up there, Bam knocked him to the mat, prompting the ref to DQ Chavo. Chavo yelled at Bam for screwing up his match, claiming he had him right where he wanted. Chavo insisted, "I pay you. You're not going to get paid today." He shoved Bam. Bam shoved him back and told him to put his hands on him again. R-Truth kicked Bam, then axe kicked Chavo.

WINNER: R-Truth in 4:00.

STAR RATING: 1/2*

3 -- KENNY DYKSTRA vs. FESTUS (w/Jesse)

Festus and Jesse came out with a two wheeler and box. Dykstra said he's obviously a good enough athlete to be an all-star in any sport and he has more potential than anyone in WWE. "I'm a 22 year old stud, but I still don't get the respect I deserve." He wondered if he has to dress like a garbage man like Festus to get noticed. He said he's about to take the garbage out to the dumpster about "now," then he punched Festus. The match hadn't officially started, but when Jesse rang the bell at ringside, Festus amped up his intensity and destroyed Dykstra in about 20 seconds. However, rather than pin him, Jesse joined him in the ring and they duct taped his arms and legs together. They rolled him out of the ring and onto the two wheeler. Ross wondered where he was being moved.

-Back at ringside, Dykstra called for help as he was wrapped in bubble wrap. They taped his mouth with duct tape to shut him and wheeled him to the back. Okay, that was just odd and almost kinky.

WINNER: No decision.

4 -- FUNAKI & SCOTTY GOLDMAN vs. VLADIMIR KOZLOV

Kozlov kicked Funaki at the bell, then fended off Goldman who went for a side headlock early. Kozlov threw him to the mat, kicked him, kicked Funaki again, then nailed Goldman with a couple headbutts to the chest, then finished Funaki with a boot. The old-school heel build-up of Kozlov via squash matches is refreshing and it's building anticipation for how he'll do against top level competition.

WINNER: Kozlov in 1:00.

5 -- CURT HAWKINS & ZACH RYDER vs. CARLITO & PRIMO COLON - Non-Title Match

After Primo talked about wanting to be his own person and not be weighed down by Carlito just a couple weeks ago on Raw, without explanation he's now on Smackdown teaming happily with his brother. They showed an inset interview with the two acting chummy and cracking jokes. You gotta love WWE's consistency and attention to detail. Carlito's wears new shiny black and silver loose pants while Primo is in traditional long blue and red tights, so they're not trying to match their look. At 6:00 Primo got the hot-tag in. He showed a good explosive offensive flurry culminating with a top rope crossbody on Hawkins for a two count. Ryder broke up the pin attempt. Carlito caught Hawkins from behind with a backstabber for the win.

WINNERS: Colon Brothers in 7:00.

STAR RATING: *1/2 -- Traditional tag match, but solid action.

6 -- MVP vs. BRIAN KENDRICK (w/Ezekiel) vs. SHELTON BENJAMIN vs. JEFF HARDY

All ring intros except Hardy's took place. MVP and Shelton argued as Kendrick swaggered and danced his way to the ring. Hardy's ring intro aired. All four wrestled at once in this style match, trying to steal pins and be opportunistic. At 3:00 they cut to an early final break.

MVP had Shelton in a headlock in the ring as Kendrick and Hardy caught their breath at ringside. Ross said MVP makes more money on Smakdown than anybody else. That line should be dropped as nobody - nobody - believes he makes more money than Undertaker and Triple H, to name the two most obvious. Kendrick danced and then hit Shelton with a running low dropkick for a near fall. Ezekiel kept Hardy from returning to the ring by attacking him and throwing him into the security wall. At 13:00 Shelton went for a modified cross armbreaker on MVP as Hardy beat on Kendrick at ringside. Hardy entered the ring and went on sustained offense for the first time since early in the match. He scored a near fall on Shelton at 14:00. Hardy went to the top rope and attempted a Swanton, but MVP moved Shelton out of the way, then went for a pin on Hardy. Kendrick blocked that pin attempt. MVP held Hardy for Kendrick. Hardy moved. MVP clotheslined a charging Kendrick. Ross stressed, "Every man for himself could not be better illustrated." Hardy hit the Whisper in the Wind on MVP for a near fall, broken up by Shelton. Ross touted the quality of the main event action. Shelton surprised MVP with Pay Dirt. Kendrick surprised Shelton with a running boot to the side of his head. Shelton missed a corner headbutt. Hardy fended off Ezekiel, then hit Kendrick, who had Shelton covered, with a Swanton and scored the pin on Kendrick.

WINNER: Hardy in 16:00 to earn a title shot at No Mercy.

STAR RATING: **1/2 -- Slow at the start, but a good dose of chaos and near falls with a satisfying and cool looking finish helps give it a thumbs up.

-Afterward, Kozlov walked out to his music. An exhausted Hardy looked on concerned. Kozlov entered the ring and stared down Hardy. Then he threw Hardy into the ropes and headbutted his chest on the rebound. Kozlov drove his shoulder into Hardy's mid-section several times in the corner. He followed with his finisher. The impressive push of Kozlov continued. There's a chance they're going to turn him into a draw of some type from scratch in less than a year from his debut. It's a good time to be a Russian heel in pro wrestling given world events.

TNA No Surrender PPV Results: 9-14-08

Real-time results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Keller's ongoing report).

1 -- SUPER ERIC & SHARK BOY & CURRY MAN vs. JIMMY RAVE & LANCE ROCK & CHRISTY HEMME

Eric hit a dive through the ropes onto Rave at ringside at 1:00. Seconds later Eric hit a top rope dropkick on Rave for two count. Eric tagged in Shark Boy after a botched double clothesline where Rock bumped oddly. Shark stomped a mud hole in Rave in the corner, then did the Stone Cold head bobbing. Curry and Christy tagged in. Christy applied an armbar which seemed to frustrate Curry more than hurt him. He easily escaped and then went behind her and put the moves on her. She slapped him and tagged out to Rock. Curry tagged Shark back in, too. At 4:00 Rock and Rave hit a double-team move on Shark. Rock then lifted and dropped Christy onto Shark with a splash. Christy show-boated, so Shark crawled under her and tagged in Curry. Curry took on Rock and Rave at once. He ducked a Christy clothesline, then did what Tenay characterized as "Dancing with the Stars" type moves on her including a kiss. As always in pro wrestling, women love uninvited kisses, and she smiled here. She got a two count on Curry a minute later after a slam b Rock. Christy slapped Shark in mid-ring a minute later. Shark had enough and gave her a Stunner, just like when Steve Austin did it to Stacy Keibler (the low point of his on-camera career, I'd argue). Curry gave Rock and Rave a double Death Valley Driver after shoving Rock head-first into Rave's crotch as he stood on the ropes. Curry moved in and covered Christy for the win, but immediately tried to awaken her. West said he's checking to see if she needs mouth-to-mouth.

WINNERS: Shark & Curry & Eric in 9:00.

STAR RATING: *3/4 -- Better than it had any right to be. Well booked and executed. Curry's act of being a ladies man fit his role in the match.

TNA No Surrender PPV Results: 9-14-08

2 -- AWESOME KONG (w/Ryesha Saeed) vs. ODB

ODB swigged a fan's beer before the match in the aisle. Saeed attacked her from behind. West said she may have been trying to get revenge for ODB trying to unmask her a couple weeks ago. He added, in a jaw-dropper, that he was uncomfortable with ODB trying to take off her mask because it's part of her religion. That is an amazing turnaround, and credit to TNA for realizing how inappropriate (or at least not admirable) it was of ODB to be initially applauded for trying to unmask Saeed for no reason. ODB made a quick comeback, but Kong then jumped her from behind. Kong took control at first in the ring. At 2:00 they brawled into the crowd. ODB used a plastic garbage can as a weapon, which always looks silly. Who would ever reach for one of those in an actual fight? Kong dragged ODB by her hair back to the rampway. At 5:00, ODB avoided a charging Kong, who then went head first into a chair wedged in the corner. ODB set up a table. Kong rested and managed to set up an Awesome Kong. ODB fought out of it, but Kong nailed ODB with a clothesline. Kong climbed to the second rope. ODB powerbombed her off of the ropes onto a table. Kong slipped off the table and in a scary bump, landed on her head and neck. ODB was slow to get up and barely moved, instead putting weight on Kong. It looked scary for a few seconds. ODB held her left hand in pain and covered Kong, who did show her neck wasn't broken as she moved into a position to get pinned. Kong kicked out at two. Saeed yanked ODB out of the ring by her leg. ODB splatted onto the floor, but then came back against Saeed and whipped her hard into the security railing. ODB got up and returned to the ring just as Kong also rose to her feet. ODB seemed wobbly and even a tad disoriented. She leaped off the top rope. Kong caught her. ODB small packaged her for a two count. Kong reversed ODB into the corner and hit a clothesline, then dropped her with a spinning backfist. Saeed pulled out a table for Kong. It took her a while, and it appeared to be the first time she had ever handled the large and awkward table, but finally slid it into the ring. ODB plled out her flask and swigged from it, then turned and sprayed it in Kong's face. She followed with some chops to the chest, but Kong caught her and slammed her hard into the table propped in the corner for the win. ODB reached up at her head in pain as Kong got the three count.

WINNER: Kong in 10:00.

STAR RATING: *3/4 -- I can't go higher because I was seriously worried for their well-being at various times and it got sloppy and unrealistic - or too realistic. They made it seem too real to the point of it being uncomfortable to watch, but they put in a real strong effort overall to have a memorable match. There are just some moves they probably shouldn't be doing given their weight-to-strength ratio mixed with sweat and fatigue leading to serious danger for both.

3 -- MATT MORGAN & ABYSS vs. TEAM 3D

Tenay said an architect building a perfect wrestler would build Morgan. Abyss got the better of Ray and then Devon. Morgan tagged n and too Devon down with a sideslam. When Ray charged into the ring, they double-suplexed him. Morga show-boated like he just did something amazing as Team 3D retreated to ringside, then threatened to walk out on the match. At 6:00 Morgan walked the top rope with a grip on Ray's hand, a "tribute" to Undertaker. The crowd may have seen it as a ripoff as they booed. He leaped off the top rope with a bodyblock on Devon in center ring. Abyss and Ray brawled at ringside as Morgan gave Devon a big boot to the chest. Ray yanked the ref out of the ring. Morga set up Devon for his Elevator. Johnny Devine ran to the ring and hit Morgan with a chair from behind. The ref didn't see it, but did count a near fall on Morgan. Team 3D gave Morgan a 3D for a believable near fall at 9:00. Morgan popped up and nailed Ray and Devon with a double clothesline, then tagged in Abyss. Abyss took care of an interfering Devine with a drop down torture rack. He then turned to Devon and mounted him in the corner with a barrage of punches. They were extremely, extremely lousy looking punches. Ray lifted Abyss onto his shoulders. Abyss didn't look excited about taking this move. He could barely keep his balance as Devon hit a top rope clothesline. Another move they just shouldn't do if they're that unsteady. Morgan got back to the ring and brawled with Ray to the floor. Abyss then hit Devon with a chokeslam center ring for a near fall. Abyss saw a chair and then picked it up. He stared at it and contemplated using it. Tenay wondered if he could pull the trigger. As he paused, Ray entered the ring and hit him from behind. Morgan yanked Ray out of the ring, then Devon grabbed the chair and held is in the air awkwardly long waiting for Morgan to get into the ring. Morgan finally entered the ring and turned Devon around and punched the chair into his head. Abyss then hit a Black Hole Slam for the pin on Devon.

WINNERS: Abyss & Morgan in 11:00.

STAR RATING: *1/2 -- Sloppy and clunky a lot of the time, but good enough at other times to be mostly okay.

4 -- PETEY WILLIAMS (w/Rhaka Khan) vs. CONSEQUENCES CREED vs. SHEIK ABDUL BASHIR -- X Division Championship match

At 2:00 Creed hit a nice flip dive over the top rope onto Petey and Bashir at ringside. He mostly overshot them, but it was athletic as he landed on his feet. The crowd was mixed, cheering for Petey and booing Creed early, but the crowd did pop for Creed's big highspot there. Bashir took control briefly at 3:00, but Petey cut him off. At 6:00, after nonstop action, Petey signalled for the Canadian Destroyer on both men. They escaped. West said it was cocky and he shouldn't have tried it. Creed came back and pressed Petey and dropped him onto his knees as Bashir jumped him from behind. He went for a quick cover, but only got a two count. Petey came back and signalled for a CD on Creed. Creed escaped. Petey played to the local crowd with a Sharpshooter on Bashir, which got a pop. Tenay and West noted that Earl Hebner was the ref. Bashir was about to reach for the bottom rope, so Petey hooked his arm and dragged him back to center ring. Creed leaped off the ropes and bulldogged Petey for a two count. The crowd booed. Petey set up a Canadian Destroye ron Creed out of nowhere, but Creed reversed it and dropped him down onto his head into a pinning position for a believable near fall. With Bashir knocked to ringside, Petey avoided a Creed charge in the corner, then hit the Canadian Destroyer out of nowhere for near fall. Bashir broke up the pin, threw Petey into the ringside barrier, and then covered Creed for the win.

WINNER: Bashir in 9:00 to capture the X Division Championship.

STAR RATING: **1/2 -- Good action. The fact that Bashir's music is the sound of airplanes crashing into a building and exploding is among the most scummy promoting tactics in history. Just beyond words how absolutely disgusting it is. It's the type of thing that should put a risk their their deals with Spike TV and InDemand, it's that bad. Coming three days after the anniversary makes it worse, but it really isn't acceptable on any day.

5 -- TAYLOR WILDE vs. ANGELINA LOVE (w/Velvet Sky, Kute Kip) -- TNA Knockouts Title match

Kip's sporting a new dye job with reddish blond spiked hair. Taylor announced before the match she has a "new best friend" to offset Kip's presence at ringside. Out came Rhino. They opened the match with a slapfest. They flashed on the screen that they were live from Osawa, Ont. The font looked like it was out of 1988, not 2008. Traci Brooks walked and took notes on what she was watching. Taylor gained control. Love bailed out to regroup with Sky and Kip at rngside. Taylor chased Love around the ring, but Sky cut her off with a make-up kit. Traci feverishly took notes. The gave Love the opening to take control for a while. At 5:00 Taylor tried to suplex Love off the ropes, but Love raked her eyes and then dropped her to the mat. Taylor surprised Love with a rollup for a near fall. She followed with a roundhouse kick to the head. When Kip entered, Rhino gave him a Gore. Sky then held Taylor. Love swung and missed. Taylor dropkicked Love into Sky. Then she hit a bridge suplex for the win.

WINNER: Taylor Wilde in 6:00 to retain the TNA Knockouts Title.

STAR RATING: *1/2 -- Short, but good action. It's another one of those finishes that TNA does too often because it consciously or subconsciously conditions fans not to believe a match can end until there's some sort of interference or ref bump or whatever.

6 -- "BLACK MACHISMO" JAY LETHAL vs. SONJAY DUTT -- Battle to Wed So Cal Val - Ring on a Pole Match

So Cal Val came out first. Sonjay presented Val a bouquet of roses to Val. Lethal countered with a bigger bouquet, and threw Dutt's to the mat. Val didn't seem pleased with the whole situation. West tried to explain Val's method of deciding betwee the two love interests, but he didn't seem sympathetic to the ridiculousness of the whole thing. The action spilled to the floor early. Tenay said he was just told Jackie attacked Selinas in the women's locker room. Lethal backdropped Dutt onto a ladder bridged at ringside. When Lethal climbed the ladder, Dutt met him at the top and threw him face-first over the top rope. Dutt then climbed the ladder. Lethal caught up, lifted him, and smashed hi back-first into the ladder at 6:00. Dutt brought a second ladder into the ring and bridged it between the ladder mid-ring and the top rope, then yanked Lethal onto it. Dutt senton flipped onto Lethal. The crowd chanted "TNA! TNA!" They cut to fans chanting. West said whoever wins this match deserves Val, "or at least a night with her." Hilarious. A chant of "This is Awesome!" broke out. Lethal tried to battering ram Dutt off the ladder with the other ladder, but Dutt dropped down. Dutt set one ladder on top of the other ladder. Lethal catapulted Dutt at the ladder. Dutt missed. The crowd booed as it looked choreographed. West covered nicely for Dutt reaching up to try to reach the ladder mid-air by saying he was instinctively trying to block any contact. The crowd will turn on a match in a second. Geesh. Dutt crotched Lethal over a ladder rung as it was still bridged between the sanding ladder and second rope. Lethal springboarded into Dutt, knocking him onto the standing ladder, which tipped over. Dutt stuck Lethal's head into the ladder and then set him upside down tree-of-woe style, then slidekicked the ladder. Innovative move that didn't look fun for Lethal at all. At ringside Val continued to stare at the match like Festus before the bell rings. Dutt bridged a ladder on two chairs at ringside. Lethal came back and tried to powerbomb him onto the ladder. Dutt slipped free and kicked Lethal in the gut, then gave him a neckbreaker onto it. Nice spot. It seems like these two committed to use all new ladder spots and they're pretty close to succeeding. Val began to break down emotionally at ringside as fans began another "This is awesome!" chant. Lethal and Dutt each set up a ladder mid-ring. "I hope she's worth it. I hope they're not disappointed," said West. I expect him to start naming sexual techniques she better agree to. They each climbed the ladder. Dutt rammed Lethal's face into the top of the ladder, then rode him from behind and applied a camel clutch. Great visual. Lethal snap mared Dutt off of him and to the mat for a long distance flatback bump. Crazy. Lethal moved to the ladder closer to the hanging ring, but he got his leg caught. He asked the ref for help. Val entered the ring and helped Lethal loose. Dutt got up and yelled at Val viciously. She backed off and cried. West almost sounded sympathetic to Dutt. Lethal checked on Val as Dutt climbed the ladder. Lethal cllmbed the other side. Val got up and low-blowed Lethal from behind. Dutt scorede the pin. Dutt and Val made out in the ring, giving Edge and Lita a run for their money for slobbery uninhibited tongue kissing and even face licking.

WINNER: Dutt in 15:00.

STAR RATING: **** -- Really good ladder match. They managed to really innovate and not rely on the standard ladder spots we've seen so often before. The problem with the finish is that it made no sense that Val would save Lethal seconds before turning on him. It's one of those things that's done for drama that doesn't seem the least bit realistic.

7 -- BEER MONEY INC. vs. LAX (Hernandez & Homicide) -- TNA Tag Team Title match

The first six minutes was just back and forth solid basic action. LAX cleared the ring of both heels after a four-way brawl. Hernandez then backdropped a charging Homicide over the top rope onto Roode at ringside. He came up a bit shot, but made some contact. Storm sprayed beer in the face of Hernandez and powerbombed him off the top rope to the mat. Homicide whipped Roode into the ringside steps. Hector and Jackie argued at ringside. Homicide swung a beer bottle at Roode, but Roode moved and the beer bottle hit the ringside steps and shattered. Hernandez leaped over the top rope onto Storm on the floor. Back in the ring, Homicide and Roode battled. Roode went for a Payoff suplex, but Homicide blocked it and hit his Gringos Stunner. He signaled for the finish and set up his finisher, but Jackie entered the ring and threw powder in his eyes. Roode then gave Homicide the Payoff suplex for the three count.

WINNERS: Beer Money in 8:00 to retain the TNA Tag Team Titles.

STAR RATING: *1/4 -- Basic match. Nothing wrong with it, but despite the highpoints late, it felt like a match to cool down the crowd after the ladder match. Another finish that conditions viewers to never consider a pinfall attempt a serious potential finish until there's some sort of interference - such as powder from Jackie this time.

8 -- FRANK TRIGG vs. A.J. STYLES -- Three Round Submission (MMA-style) match

ROUND ONE: It sure felt real early, with a nice takedown by Trigg. Trigg threw a nice bodyshot and a knee in the corner. Styles shot in. They tumbled to the floor where Trigg took some illegal shots at Styles. Styles punched back. The refs separated them and sent them back into the ring. They returned to the ring. West said Trigg throught this would be his world, but Styles can adjust. Trigg took Styles down immediately and controlled him on the mat. He drove in some knees, then taunted him with some slaps to the face. Styles upkicked. Trigg avoided it and threw a punch. Trigg then went for an armbar, but Styles was tied up in the ropes to force a break. The crowd chanted, "We want wrestling! We want wrestling!" The director actually cut to a close-up of the crowd and amplified the sound. Strange decision, assuming anyone in the truck was paying attention to the actual chant in the first place instead of just instinctively going to the crowd when they heard a chant. At 4:00 the crowd booed as the two circled in the ring. Trigg tossed Styles to the mat again and once again controlled him on the mat. He had Styles's back. A loud "Fire Russo!" chant broke out, as if this type of match is reminiscent of Russo's style. Styles surprised Trigg with a flying armbar takedown. He tried to extend Trigg's arm. but the round ended first to potentially save Trigg. West said, "Un-believable!" Tenay said another ten or fifteen seconds and Styles may have popped Trigg's elbow. Why don't wrestlers incorporate that move into regular matches?

The screen then went blank for two or three minutes. When it came back on, there were two topless women lying together. Unbelievable. That was a system-wide error and there will be a lot of people upset and others pleasantly surprised. When they went back life, Styles pulled out a kendo stick from under the ring and beat on Trigg. His music played as Tenay said the match was ruled a no contest. He said Styles got the last word. Styles left the ring and told Tenay and West that he's a wrestler he doesn't do "that stuff." Tenay said not only did Styles hold his own in Trigg's world, but he almost won.

WINNER: No contest. The brief image of the naked women will be talked about for years as one of the funniest blunders on pro wrestling PPV, and not so funny for parents watching with their kids. Cable companies across the country might be bombarded with irate parents tomorrow.

9 -- SAMOA JOE vs. CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. KURT ANGLE -- TNA World Hvt. Title match

No mention of Jeff Jarrett all show to this point. Christian's ring intro took place first. Then Angle. Then Joe. Then Sting answered Joe's challenge right away, walking down the aisle to go face-to-face with Joe. Sting yapped at Joe. Joe punched him. Then punched him again. As they began to brawl, Styles came out and pulled Joe away. Sting taunted Joe and then walked to the back. Borash did formal ring intros. West said the one person Sting doesn't want to face next month is Joe since he's trying to take him off his game. Tenay said he doesn't know if that's the case. Joe and Christian took Angle out early, then battle each other for a couple of minutes. Angle eventually returned and knocked Christian out of the ring. Then Angle got control of Joe, settling into a chinlock at 5:00. Christian returned to the ring at 6:00. Angle suplexed Joe and then Christian from behind. He scored a two count on Christian. Joe gave Angle a snap powerslam for a near fall. Christian attempted an Unprettier on Angle, but Angle escaped and hit a series of suplexes. Joe went after Angle. As Angle set up a belly-to-belly on Christian, Joe grabbed them both and suplexed them to the mat. Joe covered Christian for a near fall. Can a match end without interference of some kind? The crowd didn't think so by this point, as there wasn't much of a pop for the kickout by their fellow Canadian. With Joe knocked to the floor. Angle stalked Christian. Christian countered an Angle slam attempt with an armdrag. On the ring apron, Angle went for a back suplex. Christian held on to the top rope tightly. Angle leaped into the ring, grabbed Christian's ankle, and went for the anklelock. Joe schoolboyed Angle from behind for a two count. Angle then put the ankelock on Joe. Christian went for a break-up, but Angle grabbed his ankle, too, for a double anklelock. Joe and Christian both tucked and tossed Angle off of them. Joe went right after Christian with some slaps and then a Muscle Buster. Angle held onto the ref as Joe made the cover for a visual three count. By the time Angle let go, Christian was rested enough to break free. West said that Christian was tuned into the hand slapping sound and when he didn't hear it, he didn't bother to kick out. Has any announcer in history ever pointed that obvious fact out before - that a wrestler who suffers a visual pin wouldn't necessarily have been pinned if he heard the ref counting? Great point by West, but it might be against the unwritten rules of wrestling announcing to point that out. Joe dove onto Angle and Christian at ringside at 13:00. Back in the ring, Joe went for a Musclebuster on Angle. Angle raked his eyes and hit an Olympic slam. Christian climbed to the top rope, leapfrogged Angle, frogsplashed Joe, tossed Angle out of the ring, and then set up the Unprettier. He hit it. Joe was KO'd. Christian made the cover, but Angle yanked Earl Hebner out of the ring by his legs and then threw him into the ringside barrier. Hebner went down. Angle brought a chair into the ring. Christian kicked him in the gut. He picked up the chair. Angle low-blowed Christian and then smacked him across the side of his head unprotected with a chairshot. He then gave Christian an Olympic slam out of the ring. Angle smashed Joe across his back with a chair, then applied an ankelock. Jarrett walked out with a guitar in hand. He stood with a guitar in hand. Angle charged at him. Jarrett smashed Angle over the head with the guitar and then left the ring. Joe then gave Angle a Musclebuster. The ref returned to the ring for the pin. The crowd didn't react positively to the finish and didn't seem to care at all about Jarrett, who did not get a star reaction. "But it's Canada," will be the excuse/reason.

WINNER: Joe in 16:00.

STAR RATING: ***1/4 -- Good match. The booking made sense within TNA's style, but it's yet another example of a match ending only after obvious outside interference.

AAA on Galavision TV Report

By: Xavier Hernandez

Show aired on: 09/13/2008

The announcers welcome us to the show, from Mexico City (again). Summary of last week's show: Mini Kenzo moved to the next round of the Minis tournament, with the help of Big Kenzo. Aerostar won the "Alas de Oro" tournament, with a controversial pinfall over Jack Evans. Cibernetico and Chessman have solved their problems, and they're together again. For this show, the return of Zorro, plus Silver King and Ricky Marvin return to the company as well.

*Full Replay of the "Alas de Oro" Tournament, where Aerostar won the trophy, with a pinfall he scored over Jack Evans. The story was that Evans did kick out at two, but the referee still made the three count, and Evans got screwed. They show a video of Jack Evans after the match. He says it was imposssible that Aerostar beat him. He calls the referree "corrupt", and calls AAA "racist". Evans wants his rematch, or else he will sue the company. Evans warns AAA to not make him snap, because he won't be responsible for what happens to Aerostar. (This segment was in crystal clear English, and Evans is great cutting these promos)

*Promo Video: This one is about the Hermandad Extrema (or Extreme Brotherhood). It's basically about how they treat Lucha as a business, because they just care about money. They promote their death code "187", and they claim they can be hired by anyone who calls 1-800-187 (fake number). If you have the money, they will get the job done! (this looks like the Mexican version of the APA). Another video, but this one features Gato Eveready. He asks the fans to send Porky support to a given e-mail address, because he needs the support from everyone.

1) Billy Boy, Argenis & Gato Eveready vs. Los Diabolicos (Mr. Condor, Angel Mortal & Gallego)

-First Fall: Typical opener. No heat nor an important feud to call. Gato does a sick Corkscrew Senton to the outside, on Gallego. Angel Mortal lands outisde, and Argenis takes him out with a Diving Plancha. In the ring, Billy pins Condor with a Sitdown Powerbomb.

Winners: Billy Boy, Argenis & Gato Eveready

*Noti AAA:

-Visit "luchalibreaaa.com" to answer the next five questions to earn tickets for Verano de Escandalo (which is Sunday 14, too late for US people)

-The Apaches will expose their Mixed titles against the Morenos at "VdE"

-Charlie Manson got the job done, and unified the Hell Brothers again. Cibernetico says they must unite against the traitors. Chessman is now relieved, and the three HBs are back together.

-More hype to Aerostar's controversial win. He is attacked in the locker room. by the Harts and Konnan. Evans wants his rematch, because he was the true winner.

-Konnan was attacked by a mysterious guy last week (it seemed to be Silver King with a black mask!)

-More key reminders

*Mini Tournament Summary:

-Octagoncito def. Mini Chessman

-Mini Kenzo Suzuki def. Mascarita Divina

-Mascarita Sagrada def. Mini Histeria

-Mni Charlie Manson def. Jerrito Estrada

-Atomic Boy def. Mascariat de la Muerte

-Mini Abismo Negro def. La Parkita

2) Mini Championship Tournament (Qualifying Match # 7)

Mini Kenzo Suzuki vs. Octagoncito

-First Fall: Kenzo begins with heavy strikes on Octagoncito. Missile Dropkick by the tecnico on the Japanese. Big Kenzo mistakenly attacks his mini version. Octagoncito covers Mini Kenzo, after a Scoop Slam, but Big Kenzo breaks the cover. Big Kenzo leaves, but Octagoncito moves the middle rope, causing pain on Big Kenzo's sensible zone. Mini Kenzo tries a Frankensteiner, but Octagoncito counters with a Powerbomb off the top. Octagoncito hits a Moonsault and pins Mini Kenzo

Winner: Octagoncito

*Pretaped Segment: Apparently Konnan wants to be the first one to hire the Mexican APA, I mean the Hermandad Extrema. Nicho and Lider say if the money is there, they will put 187 on anybody that Konnan wants. Lider also tells Konnan to keep his "Americans" out of their way, and Konnan agrees. On the other hand, the Mexican Powers are ready to battle. Gladiador wants Nicho, and Crazy wants Lider. Ricky Marvin comes to say hi to the MPs, and wants to talk to Crazy. But the MPs are about to enter the ring, and Crazy tells Ricky they will talk after the match.

3) Mexican Powers (Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador) vs. Hermandad Extrema (Joe Lider & Nicho el Millonario)

-First Fall: Another typical match of these gentlemen. Botched double team moves, exotic maneuvers, and chairs freqeuntly appear in these kind of matches. Gladiador hits a Piledriver on Nicho, and goes to the top, but Lider hits him with a chair. Crazy grabs Lider, and hits the Moonsault Slam off the ring apron. In the ring, Nicho connects a top rope Victory Roll to pin Gladiador.

Winners: Joe Lider & Nicho el Millonario

-Aftermath: Marvin arrives, just in time when the Hermandad puts a sheet over Gladiador with "187" sprayed on it. The Hermandad also sprays 187 on Crazy, and Marvin is attacked as well.

*Promo Video: More hype to the Chessman/Cibernetico feud.

4) Ricky Marvin & Chessman vs. Hart Foundation 2.0 (Teddy Hart & Jack Evans) w/Nikki

-First Fall: Chessman hits a slingshot Crossbody on Hart, and Evans does his Cartwheel dive on Chessman as well. Marvin finishes everyone with a sick Tornillo. Chessman brings a table, and sets it on the barricade. Nikki attacks and distracts Chessman. Hart does the Canadian Destroyer on Marvin, and then does the Springboard Moonsault on Chessman. Hart hits the Hartbreaker on Chessman, for the two count. Hart sets Chessman for the Doom Device, and Evans jumps, but Marvin gets him in mid-air with Headscissors!!! Chessman hits a DDT on Hart to begin the comeback. Chessman spears Evans through the apron into thr table!!!! Hart sets Marvin for the Open Hart Surgery, but Marvin catches him with the Moonsault Slam. Marvin covers, but La Hermandad attack Marvin, causing the DQ.

Winners: Ricky Marvin & Chessman

-Aftermath: The Hermandad also go after the Harts, and even Lider tries to seduce Nikki. Teddy Hart is extremely jealous, and threatens to hit Nikki. Chessman is backstage, and calls himself "stupid" for being in nonsense matches. Chessman says he must be with Ciber and Charlie, and now he doesn't care about anything. Mesias and La Secta attack Chessman. Mesias tells Chessman he messed with the wrong person, in the wrong moment. Nobody messes with Mesias.

*Promo Video: Alan and Elegido talk about how jealous the people are, because both of them are so good looking and great dancers. They also show a video of Silver King, who says the Legion will never beat the AAA army, now that the King has joined in. Silver says Konnan will never beat him, because Silver belongs to the Wagner Dinasty. The Legion is finished!!

5) Silver King, Alan Stone & El Elegido vs. La Secta (Dark Ozz, Dark Cuervo & Dark Scoria)

-First Fall: Nothing special in this match at the beginning. Silver hits the Zigzag Croosbody on Cuervo. Ozz misses a Moonsault, and Elegido tries to capitalize, but Mesias' music hits the arena. Ozz gets a distracted Elegido into a top rope Powerbomb for the three count.

Winners: Dark Ozz, Dark Cuervo & Dark Scoria

-Aftermath: Mesias and the Secta attack the three tecnicos. Silver tells the announcers that what the Secta did was "wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong" (counterpart to Dr. Wagner's "well, well, well, well").

*Pretaped Segment: Parka talks to Gronda about how many members the AAA army already has. Gronda says a new member has joined in: CIbernetico. Ciber says he fully supports the AAA army, because he hates foreign guys. AAA has the best wreslters, and no foreing can beat them.

6) Zorro, Kenzo Suzuki & Electroshock vs. Cibernetico, La Parka & Gronda

-First Fall: Typical Legion match, with them starting the triple team attack, and Zorro using his kendo stick. The comeback begins, and the tecnicos deliver heavy strikes on the heels. Konnan and the Harts arrives to attack the tecnicos. This assault causes the DQ for the tecnicos.

Winners: Cibernetico, La Parka & Gronda

-Aftermath: More tecnicos arrive to help Ciber and his partners. Joaquin Roldan appears, and tells Konnan if he keeps appearing on shows where he isn't booked, Roldan will continue delivering surprises. Roldan cannot fire Konnan due to legal issues, but he will make sure Konnan quits the company. Konnan says the Legion still rules. Cibernetico tells Konnan that this is 2008, and not the 90s. It's the new age of AAA. The Legion leaves, while the AAA army stands tall inside the ring.

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' fall from grace during an indy show thi past weekend (video contains foul language). Here's a description on what went on and thanks to Augustine over in the ComicBloc: Official Wrestling Thread thread for the info.

Jake the Snake Roberts appeared at Phantasy theater in lakewood ohio this last night for Firestorm pro wrestling. He was booked in the main event to face JT Lightning one on one.As soon as me and my friends arrived there everything was ok.Jake was sitting off in the corner at a little table with pictures of himself selling autographs and taking pictures with the fans.As the night progressed though everything went downhill. It was the 2nd to last match involving a match for firestorms world title. Jake had come out, clearly drunk or drugged up, and grabbed the microphone during that match (completely unscripted as everyone could tell by the owner of firestorm coming out and trying to get jake to go back in the dressing room.) Jake was on the mic trying to encourage the guys in the ring, then he started swearing.the second to last match ended and it was time for the main event which was Jake vs Jt Lightning. JT came out, followed by Jake the snake.Jake grabbed the microphone and at first said he came here to do this for the fans,But he didnt feel like we were giving him the same respect hes giving us.He started talking incoherently,it was obvious he was on something.

after about 3 minutes of talking he put the mic down and staggered into the ring.JT attacked him to start the match..Jake didnt sell one shot,he just backed into the corner and it seemed like he was out of it. JT Lightning clearly got pissed and just pushed Jake to the ground and got on top of him to cover him and just end the match within 30 seconds of the start.Jake was trying to kick up. JT pushed his arms down and the ref just did a 3 count to end the match because Jake was in no shape to wrestle a match.Afterwards JT Lightning grabbed the microphone and said along the lines of "Ive wrestled with drug addicts like Tommie Rich,Jimmy Snuka but you are by far the biggest piece of shit ive ever been in the ring with/" JT was literally shooting on Jake. Jake just stood in the ring and flipped JT off. Another Firestorm wrestler J Rocc came in after that match was over and attempted to give the crowd a show by doing an attack on Jake so the fans wouldnt be as pissed off about the main event lasting a whole 30 seconds. Which Jake also curled in the corner and no sold. That made J rocc mad who then tried to actually fight jake. A wrestler named Ray Rowe came out and was trying to calm J rocc and JT down as Jake just stood in the middle of the ring flipping people off. Jake then proceded to pull his penis out and shake it in front of the whole crowd.

Security and Ray Rowe were trying to keep the peace. The fans were asked to leave as the show had ended with this nonsense.Out in the parking lot about 15 minutes Jake apparently wound up fighting somebody backstage and there was concern that the angry wrestlers were going to gang up on him. At one point there was a bunch of the wrestlers and security out back, one screamed "Its going down." in which they all ran inside.Im not sure what happened but I can only speculate that it was a fight involving Jake roberts.Cops arrived after this along with an ambulance. The ambulance didnt take Jake away, but the police stayed and escorted Jake to a truck where he was given a ride from the building.

WWE RAW Results: 9-15-08

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Keller's complete report). Condensed here to mostly in-ring results only.

1 -- CHRIS JERICHO vs. C.M. PUNK -- World Hvt. Title match

Before the match, a clip aired of Randy Orton leading an attack on Punk before the Scramble match eight days earlier to cost him his chance to defend his title that night. Punk's ring intro took place first, then champ Jericho's. A clip then aired of Jericho's sneaky win in the Scramble match. The match began six minutes into the show with a forehead-to-forehead staredown. Jericho went for a quick escape. Punk chased Jericho to the top and threw some cool roundkicks to the ribs and knocked Jericho to the mat. He then tried to escape. Jericho quickly caught him. The crowd chanted "C.M. Punk" as Punk threw more punches, kicks, and knees mid-ring. Punk nailed Jericho in the corner with a running knee to the jaw followed by a bulldog. Cole said Punk could be closing in on his second championship reign. When he went for a Go To Sleep, Jericho held onto the top rope. Punk backdropped him into the side of the cage. At 3:00 they cut to a break.

They showed that during the break, Punk tried to climb out of the doorway, but Jericho dragged him back in. Jericho applied a Walls of Jericho mid-ring at 8:00. Punk crawled to the door and managed to pull himself to the flor. HIs hands touched and he broke one leg free, but Jericho held onto the other leg. Jericho then managed to bash Punk in the head with the cage door. Cole noted Punk's recent concussion could come into play. Jericho scored a near fall. Nice sequence. Punk lifted a knee to counter a Lionsault. Punk got up and threw a couple hard roundkicks to Jericho's chest as he kneeled on the mat. Jericho avoided a Punk charge in the corner, then dropkicked his head into the side of the cage.

At 11:00 Punk caught up with Jericho on the top rope trying to escape. He set up a Go To Sleep. Jericho countered with elbows. They both crashed to the mat. Punk crawled over for a cover and a near fall that the crowd popped for. A minute later Jericho climbed to the top to escape. Punk caught up and gave him an Electric Chair to the mat. Another "C.M. Punk" chant broke out. Punk crawled to the open doorway. Jericho literally crawled over Punk and scurried to the doorway. Punk held his leg. Punk then crawled through the doorway. Jericho scratched and clawed to drag Punk back into the ring at 14:00. They exchanged punches. They knocked heads and Jericho literally fell out of the doorway to the floor to win.

WINNER: Jericho in 15:00 to retain the World Hvt. Title.

STAR RATING: ***1/2 -- Very good match. Five or ten minutes away from four-stars plus. It felt like a main event worthy performance from both. The finish further cements Jericho as the new "luckiest champion in the world."

2 -- CANDICE MICHELLE vs. JILLIAN HALL

During Candice's ring intro, Beth Phoenix walked up behind her and passed her without incident on her way to sit with Cole and Lawler at ringside. Jillian kept talking throughout the match, trying to be as obnoxious as possible. When Jillian went for a handspring elbow in the corner, Candice grabbed her and finished her with the Candy Wrapper finisher. Phoenix seemed nonplussed at ringside. Candice dropkicked Phoenix off the ring apron as soon as Phoenix made a move toward her. Then her dance club theme song music played again. As Phoenix walked away, she said No Mercy will be nothing like tonight.

WINNER Candice in 4:00.

STAR RATING: 3/4*

3 -- JBL vs. TOMMY DREAMER

During JBL's ring intro, Cole said JBL seems to be in one of the worst moods he's ever seen him in. Lawler said, "Don't worry about JBL. He has so much money, if he stuffed it in his mattress and fell out of bed, it'd take him 15 minutes to fall to the floor." When Dreamer walked out, Cole said he's part of the working agreement between Raw and ECW. Lawler said Dreamer shouldn't answer the phone when Raw calls. He predicted he'd be slaughtered. Cole said Dreamer was the heart and soul of ECW for so many years. After a boot to the face by JBL, Dreamer made a comeback. Lawler, who just predicted Dreamer would be slaughter, said, "Never sell this guy short." JBL came back seconds later with a nasty Clothesline from Hell for the win.

WINNER: JBL in 2:00.

-JBL remained mid-ring on the chair. He told Adamle not to make a decision based on how the people react or what they chant. He said the fans don't understand him. He bragged about owning several homes, while saying the fans struggle to pay one mortgage. Randy Orton's music played and he walked out onto the stage. He strolled to the ring in a t-shirt. Orton looks really thin. Orton said a few weeks ago he gave his evaluation of all of the champions on Raw. He said he wasn't impressed, so he took it upon himself to be sure Punk didn't keep his championship. He looked at JBL and said he's not much of an improvement. He said the Age of Orton was cut short due to an injury, and as he continues to rehab his shoulder, it's only a matter of time before he's healthy. He said it won't matter who is champion on Raw because he will again become World Champion. He said finally there will be a champion on Raw who actually has some credibility. Santino Marella's music interrupted.

Santino and Phoenix walked out. Orton stopped mid-sentence. Phoenix and Santino were clearly upset with Orton's comments. Santino asked Orton who he thinks he is. He said, "Unlike you Randy Orton, we are champions. Unlike you, we are champions. You are always injury, just like your dad." He asked how long Bob Orton Jr. had that cast on his arm. He said his father was always healthy. "Sure, he did have the herpes, but he managed it very well," he said. Funny.

Santino said he and Phoenix represent a new age of champions. He insisted Orton apologize to him. Orton asked if he actually expects him to respond to that. Orton said he doesn't care if he's hurt, he'll take him out. JBL looked at Orton and said, "Apologize. Not to Mr. and Mrs. Phoenix. Apologize to me," he said. He claimed that Orton has become irrelevant since he got injured. JBL told Orton to "take the bass out of his eyeballs" because he'd hate to see his shoulder get injured again. Batista's music then played.

Batista walked to the ring. He entered the ring, looked at the other four, and laughed. "Now before I beat the hell out of all four of you, this is the most pathetic sight I've ever seen," he said. He accused them of making promises they can't keep, just like politicians. "Like Barack Obama said..." The crowd booed. Batista looked at Phoenix. "You can put lipstick on a pig, but at the end of a day, it's still a pig." Santino said, "Just because she squeals now and then doesn't mean she's a pig." He offered to face JBL later and then, after beating him, he goes on to face Jericho for the World Title at No Mercy. Then he'll keep beating people up until Orton returns, and then he'll beat him too. Santino said, "Hey, aren't your forgetting about someone." Batista said, "Sorry, I didn't mean any respect." He turned to Phoenix and offered to beat her ass when he's champion. Batista told JBL he hasn't forgotten about the cheap shot he gave him last week. He said he's tired of talking and he's ready to fight. That's the most Batista has talked in a while, and he did a good job holding court.

Adamle appeared on the big screen. He said he'd make an announcement regarding No Mercy after the Kane-Rey match. He said they've all made good points, but there's no reason for them to be impatient. Batista said he'd like to make his case now. He went after JBL. When Santino stepped up to Batistas, Batista gave him a spinebuster. Phoenix then stepped up to Batista as JBL retreated to the back. She slapped Batista. She told him to look at him when she talks to him. She slapped him again. Batista was just going to walk away, but she said she wasn't done with him. He finally lost it and gave her a spinebuster onto the face of Santino. Fun a segment. A bit of a hodgepodge of various people, but Santino kept it entertaining, Orton and JBL were good on the mic, and Batista showed real leadership in how he held court once he arrived. Different in format than the typical in-ring interview feature segment, but I think it worked.

4 -- TED DIBIASE & CODY RHODES & MANU vs. KOFI KINGSTON & JERRY LAWLER & "GOOD OL' J.H."

Charlie Haas came out dressed in an Oklahoma Sooners jersey and a cowboy hat. He had his jersey stuffed to show off a huge gut. He held up BBQ sauce. Cole did his forced laugh. Haas kept his jersey stuffed during the match. Manu took Kofi down with a headbutt early. Kofi hit a high dropkick. Cody tagged in. Kofi took control quickly, then tagged in Lawler, who got a hometown crowd pop. A chant of "Jerry, Jerry" broke out. He dropkicked Cody to the mat. Cody begged off, but then threw Lawler face-first into the middle turnbuckle. He followed with a bulldog and settled into a chinlock. J.H. joined Cole on commentary. He said he's about to beat somebody like a government mule. He then jumped back to the ring apron. J.H. tagged in and ducked DiBiase, then punched him a few times and clotheslined him to the mat. He followed with a high dropkick and a Thesz press. He followed with a big splash for a near fall, broken up by Cody. Lawler helped lear the ring of Cody and Manu. DiBiase avoided an Oklahoma Stampede, which Cole referenced as being "Dr. Death" Steve Williams's favorite move, and then finished J.H. with a Russian leg sweep for the win.

WINNERS: Rhodes & DiBiase & Manu in 3:00.

5 -- PAUL BURCHILL (w/Katie Lea) vs. JAMIE NOBLE

Lawler said about Noble: "You know his house doesn't have curtains, but his truck does." Hadn't heard that before. Boy, they continue to treat Q7 as a segment viewers will watch no matter what they throw out there because the main event is so close to starting or they're already fully invested and committed to the show. In a surprise, Noble out of nowhere applied the MMA-style armbar to get a quick tapout win. It's basically the move A.J. Styles used against Frank Trigg at the end of the first round in their MMA-style PPV match.

WINNER: Noble in 1:00.

6 -- KANE vs. REY MYSTERIO

Lawler told Cole: "Watch out. Kane has multiple personalities, and none of them like you." Lawler is on a roll tonight. Lawler observed that Kane seemed to have a "sick smile" during Rey's ring intro. Seconds into the match, Kane threw Rey into the corner and punched him. Rey out-maneuvered Kane and went for a huracanrana. Kane held on, so Rey punched him to the mat and stomped on him. Kane came right back with an uppercut. Kane threw Rey out of the ring. He somersaulted onto the mat and stood right back up. He goaded Kane to chase him at ringside. Rey then ran back into the ring and slidekicked Kane at ringside. As Kane regrouped, they cut to a break.

After the break, Kane had Rey in a chinlock. What are the odds of that? They showed that during the break Kane took Rey down with a boot to the face. Rey began his comeback promptly. Kane, though, bodyslammed him with one arm, but missed with an elbowdrop. Rey kicked him in the head and mounted him in the corner. Kane threw Rey into the ringpost, dropping to the mat as he threw him. Kane powered Rey into the post by dropping down as he threw him. Annoyingly several people in the front row were on their cell phones waving at the hard camera. Kane continued to dominate until Rey kicked out of Rey's grip at 7:00. The crowd loudly chanted "619, 619." Rey went on sustained offense with a speedy sequence of kicks. He head scissored Kane into the middle turnbuckle and then climbed to the top rope. Kane caught Rey, but Rey enzuigiri'd out of his grip. When he charged at Kane, Kane practically beheaded him with a clothesline to silence the crowd. Kane stomped away at Rey in the corner relentlessly. The ref counted to five and Kane didn't break, so the ref called for the DQ. Lawler said he agreed with the call.

WINNER: Mysterio in 9:00.

STAR RATING: **1/4

-As Kane attempted to rip off Rey's mask, Evan Bourne made the save. He hit Kane with a top rope double knee. Rey followed with a Drop the Dime. Rey and Evan retreated to ringside as Kane snorted and recovered in the ring from the surprise attack. He then began to nod and maniacally laugh.

-Chris Jericho came out to his full intro again. He had changed into a suit and was accompanied by Cade. Jericho entered the ring and thanked Adamle for respecting his opinion and taking his advice. He said a lot of thought should go into such a big decision. He said should Batista or JBL get the shot? The crowd cheered Batista. Jericho said neither are worthy, in his opinion. So he suggested JBL and Batista should face each other one-on-one, and then immediately afterward he'll face the winner for his title. He said if fans think that's not fair, he had two matches at Unforgiven and beat four men in the main event to become champion. He said he's the best in the world and a league of his own. He said he deserved it. He said Adamle should make his decision official.

Adamle said Batista and JBL will face off and the winner will be the new no. 1 contender. He said he has a problem because he has quarterly meetings with Stephanie and Shane. He kinda misspoke several times and seemed to almost panic. Adamle said he doesn't want to get into a habit of having challengers wrestle twice in one night. Jericho stepped in and tried to make sense of what Adamle said. Adamle said he solicited not just Jericho's opinion, but others. He said he was approached by someone else who presented an idea for a title match so exciting, he couldn't pass it up. He said, "Chris, let me introduce your opponent at No Mercy for the World Heavyweight Championship." Adamle left the stage and then there was nearly a minute of total silence and suspense. The crowd began a chant of "HBK, HBK." Finally, Shawn Michaels's music played. He walked out with a mic in hand.

Michaels said he came up with an idea of how he can beat him for the title and also permanently disfigure him. He said he came up with a match that "some people say I put on the map." He said it's a match "some people say I revolutionized." He said the title will be at stake in a special match. He then had two workers bring out a ladder and set it up. Michaels climbed the ladder, sat at the top, and said, "Ladder match!" Jericho clutched his title belt and looked on worried and upset, almost seeming to feel betrayed by Adamle for presenting him with the worst case scenario. The show ended with Michaels staring at him from the top of the ladder as his music played.

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 9-16-08

Results courtesy of ProWrestling.net (direct link to Twilling's complete report).

1. Matt Hardy defeated Mike Knox in a non-title match in 12:38. During Hardy's entrance, footage was shown of how he became the ECW Champion at Unforgiven. That was followed by the announcement that Hardy will defend the ECW Championship at No Mercy vs. Mark Henry. Knox has a gross laceration on his face that Hardy gave to him. It looked like he had herpes on his cheek.

After some back and forth action, Knox gained the advantage. Striker called the ECW title belt "Seventeen pounds of pure platinum." Knox was impressive on offense as Hardy continued to attempt coming back. In a very cool spot, Hardy tried the Twist of Fate but could not turn Knox over. So, he hit a DDT for a two count. Knox broke the count by putting his foot on the rope. Both men hit simultaneous closelines on the floor...

Knox had Hardy grounded with a reverse chinlock coming back from commercial. Hardy broke loose by Knox hit a surprising dropkick. Nicely done. Knox scored multiple nearfalls after hitting a succession of various suplexes. Hardy knocked Knox from the ropes and tried a moonsault, hitting his face on Knox's back as he rolled away. Knox scored another two count.

Hardy hit the Side Effect for a two count before hitting a second rope tornado DDT. He followed that up with the Twist of Fate for the clean victory...

Twill's Two Cents: Very good match. Knox is impressive with his power offense and even his uncharacteristic moves. Hardy sold like a champ (no pun intended) and also looked great when he had the advantage. This was a nice example of making a champion and his opponent look strong.

2. Evan Bourne (with Ricky Ortiz) defeated The Miz (with John Morrison) in 5:27. Miz and Bourne exchanged hard left hands early. Miz kicked Bourne to the floor. Morrison and Ortiz approached Bourne. Morrison told Ortiz to give Carlito his hair back. Funny. Miz turned Bourne inside out with a lariat and continued to work on the back and ribs area.

Bourne hit a standing kick to Miz's face. He followed that up with a standing moonsault for a nearfall. He went to the top rope but Miz threw him to the mat. Miz hit a springboard dropkick for a nearfall. Morrison grabbed Bourne's leg and was ambushed by Ortiz. Miz was distracted and Bourne scored the pinfall with that unique rollup that he does...

Twill's Two Cents: That was a short but very good match. Bourne vs. Miz or Morrison would be a great match every single week.

3. Jack Swagger defeated Chase Stevens in 1:46. Swagger still looks like a smaller Brock Lesnar who smiles a lot. Swagger hit a nice gutwrench suplex that Striker loved. Swagger hit his finisher (side suplex into a powerbomb) for the win...

Twill's Two Cents: Swagger looked great. Striker sounds hilarious saying his name. Ricky Ortiz should watch Swagger to figure out how to be interesting.

4. Mark Henry (with Tony Atlas) defeated Finlay (with Hornswoggle) in 14:07. Henry looked pissed. Finlay became serious when the bell rang. Grisham said Henry can hammer nails with his hands and straighten horseshows. Striker said Finlay's name meant "the fair haired warrior."

Henry was very cerebral and plodding in between each impressive, powerful move. With Finlay on the apron, Atlas took a shot at him too. Finlay remained down on the floor as the show went into its final commercial of the night...

Henry had a nerve hold applied across the clavicle of Finlay coming back from commercial. Henry scored a couple of nearfalls and continued to punish Finlay with powerful slams and boots.

Striker remembered The Undertaker pinning Hulk Hogan at Judgment Day for the Undisputed Championship in 2002 in Nashville. Nice. Finlay put Henry's head in the ring apron and pounded on him. Atlas came around and pushed Hornswoggle. Finlay went after Atlas. Henry grabbed Horny and Finlay snuck up and hit him in the arm with the shillegleh.

Finlay applied a Fujiwara armbar but Henry broke out of it. Finlay scored a two count after hitting a DDT while Henry was on his knees. With both men struggling, Henry hit the World's Strongest Slam out of nowhere for the win. Henry sold his arm after the match...

Twill's Two Cents: That was an old school Henry match but I liked it. Henry has never been Mr. Workrate and he does not have to be. Finlay sold for him here and although Finlay was not on offense for long, he still looked fine in defeat as Henry looks strong for his title shot.

TNA Impact! Results: 9-18-08

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Keller's complete report). Condensed here to in-ring results only.

1 -- A.J. STYLES & CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNNS (Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin)

Styles and Sabin were just a pleasure to watch at the start of the match. Christian hot-tagging Styles at 3:00. Styles took Sabin down with a spin wheel kick. Styles went for his armbar submission. West said Styles learned that from Trigg, although it was Styles who used it against Trigg in their match. Christian evened the odds with a frog splash on Sabin, then a fallaway slam on Shelly. Christian dove onto Shelly at ringside as Styles finished Sabin with a Styles Clash.

WINNERS: Styles & Christian in 4:00.

STAR RATING: *3/4 -- Really good four minutes of action. It's an example of why the Guns deserve better than being basically jobbers to the stars on Impact.

2 -- "MAPLE LEAF MUSCLE" PETEY WILLIAMS & JOHNNY DEVINE & JIMMY RAVE (w/Lance Rock, Christy Hemme) vs. SUPER ERIC & SHARK BOY & CURRY MAN ("The Prince Justice Brotherhood")

At 2:00 Devine got cocky as he went on a flurry against Curry. When he charged at Curry as Petey held him, Curry broke free and he collided with Petey. Super Eric hot-tagged in and fended off an attack by all three heels. Devine broke up a pin attempt on Petey. In the midst of the chaos, Super Eric hit a bodyblock off the ropes onto Petey after Devine and Rave mistakenly clotheslined him as he was setting up a Canadian Destroyer, which led to Eric scoring a three count.

WINNERS: Brotherhood in 4:00.

3 -- "BLACK MACHISMO: JAY LETHAL vs. KING BOOKER (w/Sharmell)

Machismo knocked Booker over the top rope in the opening minute. Then he slide out of the ring and forearmed Booker from behind. Booker kicked back and took control. Lethal came back with a springboard dropkick. Lethal climbed to the top rope, but Sharmell distracted the ref, which distracted Lethal. Booker recovered and caught Lethal coming off the top rope to take over the match. At 5:00 Lethal made a comeback. Sharmell tripped Lethal from ringside seconds later and Booker caught Lethal suddenly with a scissors kick for the win.

WINNER: Booker in 6:00.

STAR RATING: *1/2 -- Good pace and execution and energy.

4 -- VELVET SKY & CUTE KIP vs. RHINO & TAYLOR WILDE

How did they resist calling him "Kute Kip" instead of "Cute Kip"? West and Tenay hyped the return of Jarrett after nearly two years. West said Jarrett's been in "the business" as long or longer than Sting (it's longer), so what does he think of Sting's problems with the younger generation's respect. Kip was swung into ref Slick Johnson in one of the lamer ref collisions you'll ever see. Kip basically stopped before he got to him, then Johnson held his arm like someone whacked it with a baseball bat. Sky choked Rhino and kicked him at 2:00 once Kip had beaten him down. Kip punched Rhino from the floor to help her retain the advantage and then tag Kip back in. Taylor and Sky tagged in at 3:00. Rhino gave Kip a Gore seconds later when Kip tried to interfere. Love handed Sky a pipe. Taylor kicked it out of her hands before she could use it, then leveraged her to the mat for a three count. Tenay said Taylor answers any challenge she's given.

WINNER: Taylor & Rhino in 4:00.

18 minutes of wrestling out of a two-hour show. Though I haven't watched the show, according to the report, Jeff Jarrett came out, did a lot of talking with Sting, then Kurt Angle and a cameo appearance by Mick Foley and that's your show.
