5 -- RANDY ORTON vs. SHAWN MICHAELS -- WWE Title match

Michaels nailed a plancha on the floor early on, then back in the ring, Orton regained momentum with a hard uppercut. They went into a standing exchange before moving to the mat where Orton worked on Michaels's taped left elbow. Michaels came back with a kick to the arm in the corner before slapping on a headlock of his own. Michaels picked up a close nearfall at 11:00 when he fell on top of Orton in mid-air when Orton was going for a back drop. Orton came right back with an inverted back breaker, leading to Orton's next round of offensive attack. But, Michaels knocked him off the top turnbuckle and went for an elbow drop, only to find the mat when Orton moved out of the way. Orton had that sinister smile on his face as he looked for the RKO, but Michaels made a quick counter into a backslide for a nearfall. Great reaction from Michaels. He then nailed a flying forearm off the ropes and kipped up. Michaels then went back to the well for a top rope elbow drop and connected this time. Ross predicted a new champion. Uh oh. Michaels pumped up the crowd and started to tune up the band, but Orton ducked the Superkick and punched Michaels directly in the crotch to earn a DQ.

After the match, Michaels was KO'ed on the mat. The ref simply stood there as Orton stalked Michaels for potential further damage. Orton went back to the corner and lined up for the big punt to the head, but Michaels popped up to his feet and nailed Sweet Chin Music for the fourth time, just as he said on Raw.

WINNER: Michaels via DQ in 16:00; Orton retains the WWE Title. Very good final six minutes after a methodical build-up. The only problem is that two out of the last three PPVs have ended with a cheap finish to a WWE Title match. The finish factored into why the match went on early in the card so there's more time for WWE to make up for it, but they have to be careful not to take the crowd out of the show. (**3/4)

They went to a video package on the Triple H vs. Umaga match. Todd Grisham gave us the voting that Street Fight won. The fans booed, as they probably wanted a cage.

6 -- TRIPLE H vs. UMAGA -- Street Fight

Hunter came out first, then Umaga walked out and Hunter met him on the entrance ramp. They fought to the giant keyboard on the entrance stage and traded right hand blows. Suddenly, Hunter speared Umaga through the base wall of the giant Mac monitor. They fought into the stands and nearly up the stands, but Hunter dumped Umaga back to the ringside area. They entered the ring for the first time at 3:00 and Umaga ate the ringpost when he missed with a corner splash. Hunter then picked up a trashcan and smashed it over Umaga's head for a nearfall. Umaga came back with a liver-quivering Samoan drop, as Ross put it. Umaga then went on the offensive and they spilled to the floor again. Back in the ring, Umaga slowed things down considerably and nailed the big butt splash in the corner for a nearfall at 10:00. Umaga picked up a chair to rearrange Hunter's face, but Hunter landed a legal low blow. He then DDT'ed Umaga onto the face of the chair for a nearfall. Hunter tried to follow with a Pedigree, but Umaga shoved him into the corner and nailed a Black Hole Slam. They fought to the outside and Umaga started clearing announce tables. Michael Cole got too close to the action, so Umaga shoved him aside and repeatedly slammed Hunter face-first into the table. With Hunter flat on his back on the ECW announce table, Umaga straight ran off the Smackdown and Raw tables before splashing Hunter through the ECW table. Hunter was dead. But, not for long, as he pulled himself up while referees admonished Umaga. Back in the ring, Umaga went up top for another big splash, but Hunter moved. Hunter managed to roll out of the ring and he found his best friend, the sledgehammer. Hunter measured Umaga for a hammer blow, but Umaga ducked. Umaga tried to follow with the Samoan Spike, but Hunter ducked and landed a hammer blow to the head. Umaga was only rocked and didn't go down, so Hunter finished him with the Pedigree for the win.

WINNER: Hunter in 18:00. Good use of the stipulation to create some main event-style drama to carry the match. No one expected Umaga to win, so Hunter wasn't really in jeopardy, but Umaga had plenty of offense to remain credible in nearly 20 minutes of action. (***1/2)

7 -- BATISTA vs. THE UNDERTAKER -- World Hvt. Title match

Taker went for old school early on, but Batista blocked and crotched Taker on the top turnbuckle. Batista then climbed up top for a superplex, but Taker knocked him down to the mat. Taker then went for a flying kick in the corner, but Batista moved and Taker smashed his inner thigh into the top rope. They traded control back and forth before Taker went for the snake eyes, only to have Batista counter the big boot with a big clothesline. Taker blocked a Batistabomb and started landing right hand blows. Batista then smashed his left shoulder into the corner ringpost and Taker went for the Old School clothesline, but Batista hit a spinebuster to counter. Taker then countered a pinfall attempt into a triangle chokehold. Batista broke the hold, then broke a chokeslam attempt, only to walk into a second chokeslam attempt. Taker made a cover for a close nearfall. Batista came back with a spear, good for another nearfall. He called for the Batistabomb, but Taker back dropped him. Fans are clearly behind Taker tonight despite it being Batista's hometown. Batista went to the corner for ten punches, but he made a mistake and Taker dropped him with the Last Ride from the corner. Taker took a little extra to make a cover, giving Batista time to kick out before three. He called for the end and scooped up Batista, but Batista countered with a spinebuster for another two count. Taker then sat up and walked into a Batistabomb. Batista made the cover, but Taker kicked out again. The crowd popped and Batista sat up on his knees and stared at Austin in disbelief. Batista growled like a mad man and measured Taker to deliver another Bomb. He covered him and scored the three count this time to retain the belt. Afterward, they recapped the high points of the match. Batista walked out on stage and Taker glared at him from inside the ring.

WINNER: Batista in 18:00 to retain the World Hvt. Title. Very strong main event. Like every other high profile match on the card, they started off slow and built to a strong conclusion. Believable nearfalls playing off each one's signature moves and spot sequences, and Austin played a strong role in maintaining order in the match. (***3/4)

Steve Austin won with 79 percent, followed by Foley with 11 percent and JBL with 10 percent.

Forgot one more voting result:

Mickie James won the Halloween Costume Contest with 21 percent of the vote, followed by Kelly Kelly with 17, Torrie with 15, Melina with 12, Maria with 12, and everyone else under 10 percent. Michelle finished last. They showed everyone reacting backstage as Mickie celebrated.

WWE RAW Results: 10-29-07

Halloween Horror
By Greg Adkins
October 29, 2007
PHILADELPHIA – The Glamazon kicked off Halloween early this year. Two nights before the chilling celebration, Beth Phoenix continued to haunt the WWE Divas roster like a demon that refuses to be exorcised. After watching Kelly Kelly fend off other costume-clad beauties from ECW, SmackDown and Raw to win the Divas Halloween Battle Royal, Phoenix howled into the Wachovia Center to greet her. Dressed in a gangster outfit, Kelly Kelly looked like a deer in the klieglights when she saw Phoenix approach. Appropriate since witnessing the senseless carnage that ensued was almost like watching Bambi get flattened by a steamroller. Kelly tried to get away, but Jillian and Melina threw her back into the ring into the waiting arms of the Glamazon. The sweet, innocent ECW Diva withered under the overwhelming size and strength advantage of the reigning Women’s Champion, who effortlessly hoisted her latest victim skyward and slammed her to the mat with a cringe-worthy thud. With former Women’s Champion Candice Michelle out for 6 to 8 weeks due to a cracked clavicle suffered during a match against Phoenix last Monday night, is there any Diva out there who stands a ghost of a chance against Beth Phoenix?

Rhodes Warrior
Persistence pays. Just ask Cody Rhodes. Last week, after he pinned Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, the other half of the Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team, darted into the ring to exact a measure of revenge. But none of the three could have anticipated what happened next: Rhodes’ rival, Hardcore Holly, came to his aid. This week, Rhodes & Holly teamed up against Benjamin & Haas in a Tag Team Match. While Holly obviously feels Rhodes has a lot more to prove, the Hardcore veteran’s guarded façade has begun to show fissures. His grudging respect showed on Monday night as Rhodes earned the team the victory.

Scottish Invasion
The Highlanders are a couple of Scots always eager to get their kilts wrinkled. The pair proved it again this week when Rory and Robbie stormed the ring after a singles match between rivals Paul London and Lance Cade. After World Tag Team Champion Cade pinned London, the cousins McAllister proceeded to lay out both London & Kendrick. The unprovoked incident is only the latest stunt in the Highlanders’quest to gain respect and prove they’re deserving of a chance at the title.

Mr. Smith Goes... Off
Continuing to make a name for himself, DH Smith proved Monday night that while he may be a rookie, he’s no stranger to the ways of the ring. Smith proved his mettle as he and Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy teamed up to tackle the challenge of Carlito & Mr. Kennedy. While Carlito and Mr. Kennedy orchestrated a vicious assault on Smith's left leg, the Canadian held his own. Eventually, Smith handed the reins to Hardy, who was able to capitalize on his worn down opponents and nail Carlito with a Swanton Bomb for the win.

Stone Cold Imposter
Santino Marella continues to press his luck. This week, the former Intercontinental Champion slapped on a bald cap and imitated Stone Cold, declaring that it should have been Marella who starred in The Condemned. To top off his dismal performance, Marella butchered some of Stone Cold's trademark slogans and choked down a cold beer. But the laugh turned out to be on Santino as Maria told him some news about The Texas Rattlesnake.

Small Setback
Jonathan Coachman just can’t catch a break—not that he deserves one. Mr. McMahon, a longtime advocate of “tough love,” had a heart-to-heart talk with his illegitimate son, Hornswoggle and told him he had to learn to hate to gain respect. Hornswoggle took that advice into his match with Coachman, but he also received a few assists from surprise special guest referee Mick Foley.

Darkest before the Shawn
After Triple H turned away the Samoan Bulldozer the night before in a Street Fight Match at Cyber Sunday, Mr. McMahon was desperate to toss more ammunition in the path of The Game. With that in mind, the Chairman arranged a Handicap Match pitting Triple H against both Umaga & WWE Champion Randy Orton. But the Chairman didn’t expect The Cerebral Assassin to get help from a longtime friend.

Matches
Kelly Kelly def. other Divas in a Diva Halloween Battle Royal
Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly def. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin
Lance Cade def. Paul London
Hornswoggle def. Jonathan Coachman
DH Smith & Jeff Hardy def. Carlito & Mr. Kennedy
Randy Orton & Umaga def. Triple H (disqualification)

I don't get a chance to watch wrestling often anymore, but I still love it. And I am hyped to holy hell that Jericho is returning, but first he was supposed to return at no mercy, that was too soon. Then cyber sunday, again, nothing. Then X29 was supposed to be tonight, and all we got were two more videos. Now i'm upset, i'm tired of watching. The rate the WWE is going with his return it really will be the next millenium when he comes back.

It's been pushed until November 19, The Raw after Survivor Series. If you look closey at the promo it mentions November 19 at the end. It looks as if these small promos are promoting the his signing tour. Example x29 reveals as 10/29 Jericho was in fact in Philadelphia today but doing a signing for his new book as mentioned on his website.

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 10-30-07

A scary affair
By Andrew Rote
October 30, 2007
LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – In a battle to become No. 1 Contender and face ECW Champion CM Punk for the gold next week, John Morrison emerged victorious against The Miz. Next week’s contest will serve as an opportunity for Morrison and perhaps as a chance at revenge for CM Punk, who was attacked by Morrison after Punk’s match later in the night.

With it being the eve of Halloween, what better way for ECW on Sci Fi to celebrate the holiday than with ECW’s Monster Mash Battle Royal? Kane guaranteed victory and Big Daddy V was touted by his mentor Matt Striker as a dominating force that would roll to a win. Much of the focus was on these two. The Big Red Machine and Striker’s behemoth protégé first gained a mutual disliking for each other in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match just weeks earlier. Then last week, they met in a one-on-one contest, which ended abruptly when Mark Henry and The Great Khali interfered. Henry was at his best for ECW’s Monster Mash Battle Royal, as he reigned supreme over Kane, Daddy and The Great Khali. In the closing moments, he used his massive strength to catch the Big Red Machine and almost hurl him over the top rope. Has the answer to stopping Big Daddy V finally been discovered: Bring in another monster?

The monstrous match wasn’t the only scary part of Halloween Eve, ECW style. Nunzio took a few children trick-or-treating in the locker room area, only to be spooked by Boogeyman who was handing out worms. He later faced Tommy Dreamer in a Trick-or-Treat Extreme Rules Match with Halloween party accessories for weapons at ringside. Despite dressing to the nines for All Hallow’s Eve as Dracula, Nunzio fell to Dreamer, who was dressed as a vaguely familiar ECW personality in a trench coat.

In other action, Elijah Burke earned a solid win against Jimmy Wang Yang to kick off ECW on Sci Fi. Along with ECW’s Monster Mash Battle Royal, this battle shows more evidence of the business deal between ECW General Manager Armando Estrada and SmackDown Acting GM Vickie Guerrero.

Matches
Elijah Burke def. Jimmy Wang Yang
Tommy Dreamer def. Nunzio
John Morrison def. The Miz (No. 1 Contender's Match)
CM Punk def. James Curtis
Mark Henry def. Kane, Big Daddy V and The Great Khali (ECW's Monster Mash Battle Royal)

TNA Impact! Results: 11-1-07

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (link to Caldwell's TV Report) Condensed to show wrestling matches only.

1 -- JAMES STORM (w/Jackie Moore) vs. KAZ -- Fight for the Right semi-final match

Kaz hit a splash on the floor less than 15 seconds into the match. Jackie then distracted Kaz, allowing Storm to land an implant DDT off the middle rope. Storm then hit the Eye of the Storm spinning drop slam for a nearfall. He followed with Carlito's back cracker for another nearfall. Kaz then rolled through on a roll up and bridge pinned Storm for the win. After the match, Eric Young showed up with a pack of beer. Oh well, Kaz won a match. Young then gave Storm a beer to drink. They had a beer drinking contest. West pointed out that it's no longer about who wins the wrestling matches in the tournament, but now it's about drinking beer. They finished off the final beer and Storm looked at Young like he was impressed.

WINNER: Kaz in 2:00. I don't even know why they have wrestling matches on this show when something seemingly more important frequently follows the in-ring action. (1/2*)

2 -- AWESOME KONG vs. CHRISTY HEMME (w/Lance Hoyt and Jimmy Rave)

King came out with her Gail Kim glossy photo, then Hemme came out and tried to pump herself up. she charged Kong, who no-sold everything before landing a huge chest bump. Rave had a good laugh ringside while Hoyt tried to show some concern. Kong picked up Hemme, who slipped on a sleeperhold, but Kong came back with a backhand slap and thighmaster torture rack. Kong called for the end and landed a sit down powerbomb for the win. Hoyt and Rave could only wince from ringside. Kong then picked up her Gail Kim photo and stared it down.

WINNER: Kong in 2:00. Another squash to establish Kong's dominance in the women's division. (1/2*)

3 -- ROBERT ROODE & MS. BROOKS vs. Women's champion GAIL KIM & SAMOA JOE

Roode played cowardly heel early on, throwing Brooks to the lions at the open of the match. Gail dominated Brooks, but she missed with a turnaround splash from the corner. Brooks and Roode had a shouting match when Brooks couldn't score a pinfall, then Brooks fired up with a flying left-arm lariat. Gail took advantage of the arguing and came off the top with a missile dropkick. The men battled, then Brooks ran into Joe's chest and Joe tagged out to Gail. Meanwhile, Joe flew through the ropes with an elbow strike on Roode. In the ring, Gail rolled up Brooks for the win.

Afterward, Brooks tried to hide her fear of Roode, who screamed at Brooks after the match. He called her pathetic and useless. Roode said he's begging Brooks to quit. He asked for one good reason why he shouldn't fire her. Gail Kim then ran into the ring and slapped Roode on the back. Gail said she's tired of watching him treat her like that. She said everyone is sick of it. Roode sarcastically asked what she's going to do about it. She gave him a light slap, then Roode tried to strike back, but Joe ran back into the ring and cleared Roode to the outside. They brawled to the outside before cutting to a break.

WINNERS: Gail & Joe in 5:00. It's refreshing to see someone on this show actually play a role of heel or babyface with no gray area. Roode is the top heel on this show and he makes it very easy to hate his character. While everyone else is trying to do comedy or remember the good 'ole days, Roode is just cutting killer promos. It won't get anyone to buy a PPV to watch Joe vs. Roode, as the direct issue between the two isn’t very clear, but at least Roode is playing his role well. (*)

4 -- CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. CHRIS HARRIS -- Fight for the Right semi-final match

Tenay and West spent the first minute of the match putting over "TNA management" for sticking Harris in the tournament. They spent the next minute complaining about Chris Harris complaining about them after all the things they did for him. They said it's time for Harris to put up or shut up in the ring. They returned with Christian missing a top rope frog splash in center ring. During the break, the ref prevented Christian from using his trusty ladder. Back to the action, where Harris landed a spinebuster for a nearfall. Christian came back with an elbow smash from the middle rope. The action continued with an exchange of offensive control. Christian landed a reverse DDT for a nearfall, then he ran into a spear from Harris. The action really slowed down, as Harris sold an injury. Christian called a spot in Harris's ear, then Harris countered the Unprettier with an Unprettier of his own for a nearfall. They finally went into a finishing sequence where Christian rolled through on a pin and hooked the tights/top rope for the win. After the match, Christian smashed Harris with the ladder after Harris complained about the officiating. Christian then climbed the ladder and hit a leaping frog splash.

WINNER: Christian in 13:00. Usually, the idea is to finish a match with a flurry, not slow down into a 15 MPH Sunday drive in a 50 MPH zone. Either Harris was legit injured or both men were completely gassed at the end. This is what happens when the wrestlers are so used to wrestling two minute matches on TV. At least the match story was there, as they had something on the line with a potential advancement to the #1 Contender match. (3/4*)

5 -- A.J. STYLES & TOMKO vs. LAX (HOMICIDE & HERNANDEZ) -- TNA Tag Title match

Styles had a temper tantrum when he kept running into Hernandez's big frame and didn't find favorable results. So, Tomko tagged in and exchanged blows with Hernandez. Tomko and Styles were knocked to the outside, then Homicide ran through the ropes with a cannonball dive onto the heel tag champs. Homicide slapped hands with West, then they cut to a break. They returned with Homicide dumping Styles across the ring with a high back body drop. He followed with an overhead slam. The ref was distracted, though, by Tomko and Hernandez bickering on the floor. Homicide made a cover on Styles, but the ref was still standing on the outside doing a three-person tango. That allowed Styles to land a low blow in the ring. The heels took control as the ref finally found the in-ring action more to his liking. Styles dropped Homicide with a big dropkick for a nearfall, then the heels started working over Homicide. Hernandez took a hot tag at 8:00 and started tossing people around with power moves. He went for the Border Toss on Styles, but Tomko landed a boot to the face. He came back with a clothesline taking Tomko to the floor. Hernandez nailed a shoulder breaker on Styles, but Styles just got a shoulder up. they went for a Doomsday Device, but Tomko broke it up. The action broke down, then Tomko landed a clothesline from hell on Hernandez. Styles followed with a top rope 450 splash on Hernandez for the win.

After the match, the tag champs jumped LAX. Suddenly, a random Latino Nation guy showed up with the slapjack. After some crazy editing, they ended up with the champs on the floor. The Steiners then showed up and beat down Styles and Tomko.

WINNERS: Styles & Tomko in 11:00 to retain the tag titles. If there's one guy who needed to be protected in this match, it was the guy who was pinned. There is so much potential for Hernandez as a singles heavyweight wrestler, that TNA should be going out of its way to protect him. Good action at times. (*1/2)

WWE Smackdown Results: 11-2-07

A challenging week
By Lennie DiFino
November 2, 2007

UNIONDALE, N.Y. – After three consecutive weeks of facing the biggest Superstars on SmackDown in The Great Khali, Undertaker and World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Jamie Noble finally got to pick on someone closer to his own size – Rey Mysterio. Actually, that was only made possible by Acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, who has “tormented” Noble by putting him in the ring with giants. This week, Noble thought Guerrero had taken mercy on him and he looked to get back on the winning track. However, Mysterio had a plan all his own. With Rey’s rival, Finlay, observing things from ringside, the high-flying Master of the 619 defeated Noble. Next week, in a Cyber Sunday rematch, Mysterio will take flight once more when he faces the Irishman in what has become one of WWE’s hottest rivalries.

Pint-sized power
Last Monday on Raw, Jonathan Coachman was once again embarrassed at the hands of Hornswoggle, this time with Mick Foley as the special guest referee. Coach demanded a match in Foley’s home of Long Island, and when “Mr. McMahon” was announced as a guest referee, Coachman thought he had the upper hand. To Coach’s chagrin, Vincent Kennedy was not the McMahon in his match – it was Hornswoggle. Displaying some of the “hate” that his dear old dad advised him to embrace on Raw, the leprechaun helped Mrs. Foley’s baby boy defeat Coachman. Is this the side of Hornswoggle that the Chairman wants to see or is the little guy bucking the McMahon way in favor of his own?

Gravy train
Festus has been a force in the tag team division since debuting with his partner Jesse, but on SmackDown he was in singles action against Domino. When the match began, the normally benign Festus transformed and became a Superstar possessed, defeating Domino as Jesse made sure Deuce didn’t interfere. With the loss to the red-hot “Biscuits ‘n’ Gravy” big man, the boys from the Other Side of the Tracks continued to falter without the gold around their waists.

Back on the road again
After suffering his first SmackDown loss a few weeks ago, Chuck Palumbo returned to his winning ways when he defeated Kenny Dykstra. The revved-up Superstar’s rivalry with the ever-game Dykstra has yet to see the self-proclaimed future Hall of Famer create any speed bumps. But will Palumbo continue to ride the open road to victory on SmackDown?

Worlds collide
MVP’s on-again, off-again relationship with his fellow WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy appeared off again when Matt informed him that he would face longtime nemesis Kane on SmackDown. The Big Red Monster made sure that the Franchise Playa wouldn’t find a way to escape his wrath, as he did at Cyber Sunday, by overpowering and defeating the United States Champion in non-title action. Kane had little time to savor his victory as he was attacked by Big Daddy V, who left the Big Red Monster down in the center of the ring.

Of gods and “Gods”
World Heavyweight Champion Batista told our fans his victory over Undertaker at Cyber Sunday left the two titans even in their epic series of matches. The Animal then offered The Phenom another match at Survivor Series, and Undertaker agreed. But The Deadman added a stipulation – his rematch with Batista would be Hell in a Cell. Later that night, Batista & Undertaker teamed up to take on the super-sized tandem of The Great Khali & Mark Henry in a match that shocked our fans in Long Island.

Matches

Festus def. Domino
Rey Mysterio def. Jamie Noble
Kane def. United States Champion MVP (Non-title)
Mick Foley def. Jonathan Coachman
Chuck Palumbo def. Kenny Dykstra
Mark Henry & The Great Khali vs. World Heavyweight Champion Batista & Undertaker (No Contest)

The Fabulous Moolah Passes Away

A legend in the history of WWE's women's division Fabulous Moolah has passed away at the age of 84.

Many fans will remember the Hall Of Famer for her humorous appearances with Mae Young but she was there from day one.

Moolah's career was recognized in the 2004 documentary "Lipstick and Dynamite", which looked at the pioneering days of women's professional wrestling, featuring Moolah, Mae Young and Penny Banner, among others. And she released an autobiography via WWE in 2004.

Moolah had recently undergone an eye transplant and was scheduled to have her shoulder replaced.

"In the world of women’s wrestling, there will always be one irrefutable legend that stands head and shoulders above the rest: The Fabulous Moolah. She was the longest reigning champion in the history of her chosen sport, or any sport for that matter. And with more than 50 years in the business to her credit, she established a legacy that will never be forgotten, making her name synonymous with female wrestling."

~Nigel comes out post-match and he gets kicked in the head from Danielson. Place goes crazy for Danielson.

8.) No Remorse Core (Roderick Strong/Rocky Romero/Davey Richards) vs. The Vulture Squad (Jack Evans/Ruckus/Jigsaw) w/ Julius Smokes
WINNER: No Remorse Core via Liontamer on Jack Evans for the tap out.

~Smokes punks out the Vulture Squad afterwards and demands better at Final Battle 2007. Rematch at that show will be a TLC match.

~Sweeney interrupts the ring announcer and on the 12/29 PPV requests Chris Hero vs. Claudio Castagnoli in a loser leaves ROH match. Hero then talks crap about Austin Aries, even wearing some type of TNA gear/merch. He says Austin Aries is worse than Xavier.

An impromptu #1 contender's match starts. If Aries wins, 12/30 will be Chris Hero vs. Larry Sweeney.

9.) Austin Aires vs. Chris Hero in a #1 Contenders match for the ROH World Heavyweight Championship.
WINNER: Austin Aries via Submission

10.) Mitsuharu Misawa(c) vs. KENTA for the GHC World Heavyweight Championship.
WINNER: Mitsuharu Misawa via Emerald Fusion to retain the championship. Said to be awesome "****1/2 at gunpoint but maybe less after seeing it on DVD"

11.) Mark Briscoe/Jay Briscoe(c) vs. Jimmy Jacobs/Necro Butcher for the ROH World Tag-Team Titles
WINNER: Mark Briscoe/Jay Briscoe to retain the titles (Unreported finish)

WWE RAW Results: 11-5-07

Hollywood Showdown
By Greg Adkins
November 5, 2007
Flying high in Hollywood: Jeff Hardy takes to the air with Mr. Kennedy.

The events on this week’s Monday Night Raw left many WWE Superstars seeing stars—and not just because the show took place in Hollywood. Tonight’s Raw was such a blockbuster that the Superstars of SmackDown made a rare appearance. The 17, 133 fans who packed into the sold out STAPLES Center witnessed an intense tag team match setting SmackDown’s Rey Mysterio & Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy against Finlay & Mr. Kennedy in a precursor to the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match they will all be involved in on Nov. 18. Charging hard out of the gate, Mr. Kennedy brought the fight to Mysterio first. But once the bout began tilting back toward the high-flying duo, tension between Mr. Kennedy and Finlay began to mount. After a few anxious moments between the blond bruisers, the dangerous duo snapped back into the match.

But just when it seemed Mr. Kennedy & Finlay’s tenuous partnership had hit a stride, Mysterio elevated his game to new heights. The aerial amigo landed a 619 on Mr. Kennedy, kicking him back into the ring.

It wasn’t the place to be. As Mr. Kennedy lie on the mat, Hardy climbed the ropes and dropped a Swanton Bomb on the Green Bay, Wis. native to finish him off for the three-count.

If this intense match was a sample of what will happen at Survivor Series when the team of Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio & Kane confronts the monstrous forces of Umaga, Mr. Kennedy, MVP, Finlay & Big Daddy V, then the 21st annual event promises to be an epic showdown.

Repeat Performance
In last week’s Divas Halloween Battle Royal, Kelly Kelly outlasted several of other beauties to emerge with the win. Unfortunately, her victory celebration was short-lived. The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix, entered the ring and pummeled her. The stunning – and gutsy – Kelly Kelly, seen Tuesdays on ECW on Sci-Fi, challenged Phoenix this Monday, and once again suffered a thrashing at the hands of the Women’s Champion, who won in under a minute.

Apple Jacked
Once again, the Caribbean Bad Apple proved lazy to the core. Rather than compete in his scheduled match against a local wrestler, Carlito informed our fans that he had arranged a replacement for himself in the form of Snitsky. After the yuck-mouthed ogre handily disposed of his opponent, Carlito congratulated the giant and went to raise his hand. But Snitsky wasn’t having it. He turned on the laid-back Superstar and doled out a swift kick to Carlito’s face, sending the chewed apple in his mouth flying all over the ring.

Love Hurts
Is Mickie James distracting Trevor Murdoch from “gettin’ er done”? Ever since the stunning Diva told Murdoch how much she appreciated his chivalry during a match two weeks ago, the country boy has shown that his head may not necessarily be in the ring. Murdoch’s World Tag Team Championship partner, Lance Cade, watched as up-and-coming Cody Rhodes fought the Southern-fried grappler to earn a hard-earned victory. While Murdoch continues to insist that James is not a distraction and that the two are “just friends,” Cade appears unconvinced… and perhaps with good reason.

U-S-A! A-O-K!
The familiar chants of Ho!, Si! and U-S-A! rang throughout the STAPLES Center as tag partners Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Super Crazy tried to whip the crowd into a cross-continental frenzy. The duo faced off against the Self-proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team of Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin. In a surprising twist, the high flyer from south of the border rolled up the athletic Benjamin for the three-count. When Haas went to charge Super Crazy, he thought better of it after running up against an imposing Duggan.

Back to the Future
It was only a matter of time. After weeks of taunting “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Santino Marella finally felt the bite of the Texas Rattlesnake. Marella’s comeuppance came after he once again carped on Austin’s performance in his movie The Condemned. Austin laid the Italian loudmouth out with a Stunner, but he wasn’t finished there.

DX: Getting Their Kicks
The animosity was palpable as Umaga & WWE Champion Randy Orton rambled into the ring to face off against DX, Triple H & Shawn Michaels. Like two runaway tractor trailers barreling head-on toward one another, Umaga and Triple H collided with frightening force. Meanwhile, Michaels put on an aerial display against the Legend Killer. As the saying goes, always put your best foot forward. However, a dazed and confused Orton probably didn’t appreciate HBK’s effort.

Matches
Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly
Snitsky def. Local
Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio def. Mr. Kennedy & Finlay
Cody Rhodes def. Trevor Murdoch
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan & Super Crazy def. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin
DX def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Umaga

Last night's RAW sucked donkey balls. :oh_no: Those two squash matches in a row is what turned me off. Not even seeing Stone Cold come could keep me interested. We all knew he was going to kick Santino's ass.

last nights raw was well... just too predictable. let kennedy and finlay win or something. shit. i mean the kennedy and finlay vs mysterio and jeff hardy match could have been much better. as could the orton and umaga vs DX match could have too. let the heels win a couple times it really does boost ratings. people want to see the heels win just because it pisses them off.

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 11-6-07

Monsters continue to roam
By Andrew Rote
November 6, 2007
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Monsters are still on the loose in the Land of the Extreme as ECW on Sci Fi kicked off with two of them when Mark Henry faced Kane. Kane, who will be standing across the ring from Big Daddy V at Survivor Series in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, along with Henry fittingly took part in last week’s Monster Mash Battle Royal, managing to outlast Big Daddy V and The Great Khali as the final two competitors. When the Big Red Machine attempted to attack Henry from the top rope, the self-proclaimed Silverback caught him and virtually tossed him from the ring to earn the victory. Henry didn’t necessarily get the better of Kane this time, though, as he was disqualified for bringing a chair into the squared circle. Still, he took pleasure in squashing the Big Red Machine onto the chair after the bell sounded.

Later Tuesday night, in a match created by The Miz to continue making Kelly Kelly's life a living hell, Layla dominated the blonde. Balls Mahoney rushed to his favorite Diva's side, aiding her just one day after Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix made easy work of her, as well. Mahoney and Kelly were left on the canvas while the “chick magnet” refused to enter the ring for a confrontation and instead left with his loyal Diva.

In other Tuesday night action, Jamie Noble came to the Land of the Extreme and left with a win. Nunzio proved to be short of having what it takes to defeat the SmackDown Superstar, who presented our fans with a video he made before the match. Noble has been forced to face giants in Undertaker and The Great Khali, thanks to SmackDown Acting General Manager Vickie Guerrero. His video, however, allowed the public to see what he can do when he faces someone his own size. His Superman-like depiction in his bout with Rey Mysterio proved what he is allegedly capable of.

Fresh off of his Ghost Hunters experience, Elijah Burke earned a convincing win against Shannon Moore. The victory marks the second consecutive time he has defeated a SmackDown cruiserweight on ECW turf.

The night ended with the ECW Championship securely in CM Punk’s possession, but the Straightedge Superstar has more to worry about than ever before. The Miz crashed the main event title match between Punk and John Morrison, distracting the Tuesday Night Delight and showing the champion he won’t be able to fend off challengers for his gold one at a time. Both the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” and the Shaman of Sexy won’t rest until Punk’s waist is bare again, and each of them is the man to do it.

Matches
Kane def. Mark Kenry (Disqualification)
Jamie Noble def. Nunzio
Layla def. Kelly Kelly (Disqualification)
Elijah Burke def. Shannon Moore
ECW Champion CM Punk def. John Morrison

Big News: Brooke Fired Over Fight With Melina?

As noted before, Brooke Adams of Extreme Exposé was dropped by the company last week. She had a ton of heat with a number of girls and an incident involving her and Melina may have played in her departure from the company.

Brooke's last appearance in the company was on Raw last week for the Divas Halloween battle royal. Backstage, Melina had a confrontation with Brooke about the furry black boots she wore as a part of her costume. It was a "gimmick infringement" argument, seeing how Melina frequently dons furry boots for her wrestling appearances. McMahon was actually upset that Brooke was ignorant about the furry boots issue and "not protective of Melina's gimmick." There is also a belief that Melina went to Vince and complained, and he made the call to axe Brooke.

John Laurinaitis was one of Brooke's biggest supporters and he fought hard for her to retain her employment. He was overruled. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 2007 Diva Search winner Eve Torres end up in her role. Brooke was initially hired by WWE to be one of the Funkette dancers when Flash Funk aka Too Cold Scorpio re-debuted. Laurinaitis paid for Adams to take dance lessons and develop a routine. Of course, Funk never re-debuted in WWE and thus there weren't any Funkettes. However, Adams' dance lessons didn't go to waste as she ended up on television in the dance troupe Extreme Exposé shortly thereafter. Though before that, Laurinaitis was always pushing hard for her to debut on all three of the brands, which became a running joke because she had almost no experience in the wrestling business at the time.

Hogan DOESN'T Know Best!

Part I:

Nick Hogan Arrested for Reckless Driving

Posted Nov 7th 2007 9:38AM by TMZ Staff
Clearwater, Fla. Police have arrested Nick Hogan for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury.

He turned himself in to Clearwater Police this morning and is currently being booked in to the Pinellas County Jail.

Hogan was involved in a one-car crash in August that severely injured his friend, John Graziano. John has severe brain injuries and will likely require specialized care for the rest of his life.

Part II:

Cops: Hogan Was Drinking Before Crash

Posted Nov 7th 2007 10:05AM by TMZ Staff
Cops have concluded Nick Hogan was drinking the night he crashed his Supra, severely injuring his best friend.

Clearwater PD today released details of their investigation into the August 26 crash. In addition to being arrested for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, cops also cited Hogan for use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony, a person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher and having an Illegal window tint.

Police also concluded that although Hogan and a second car were racing right before the crash, the driver of the second car was not a direct cause of the accident. That driver has also been ticketed for reckless driving.

Hogan was going 60 mph in a 40 mph zone when he lost control and hit a tree.

Part III:

The Audacity -- Hogan Blames Victim for Injuries

Posted Nov 7th 2007 10:32AM by TMZ Staff
Nick's rep, Adam Handelsman, EVP of 5WPR, issued the following statement to TMZ:

"Nick and the entire Hogan Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007.

Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena * a court of law. The family's primary focus and concern still remains for the continued recovery of Nick's longtime friend John Graziano. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can.

The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his.

Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt. There has been much speculation as to the speed and wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although all the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident. Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender. However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident.

We ask all who follow these events to keep an open mind as to the facts until they have been ultimately determined. Finally, we thank all who have prayed for John's recovery and ask for your continued support and prayers."

Carlito Asks For Release From WWE?, RAW, Y2J, More

On Friday night, Chris Jericho will be signing copies of his book at the Borders Book (Redmond Town Center) in Richmond, WA. Call 425-869-1907 for more information.

RAW will be three hours on 12/10.

According to reports, Carlito has been outspoken backstage, and appears to have requested his release. It should be interesting since WWE granted Daiviri's request for a release.

Nate Orton, Randy's younger brother had an MMA match a few weeks ago in St. Louis, MO and won via strikes from the mount position, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Randy attended the show, and congratulated his brother afterwards. Bob Jr., the boys father, wasn't thrilled about his son doing MMA.
