I MIGHT go to Booker T's school while i'm in Houston this weekend. I'm interviewing some of the wrestlers from his school! Ooh, I can't wait! :buttrock:

As for ECW, good riddance. Quite frankly, it was destined to fail even before RVD, Sabu, and Benoit fucked up. There wern't that many originals to begin with; there were no REAL ECW style matches like Paul Heyman created (or drama even); and the fact that Raw and Smackdown kept interfering made it less appealing. They might as well pull the plug. :oh_no:
you don't get it. ECW was a good place for younger wrestlers to cut their teeth on a professional scale. and i think it should be kept. one because i hate TNA and refuse to watch it. and two because it's good for the younger guys. we just need an older, veteran, who will stick around and not leave. like bigshow did, RVD did, benoit did, and every other big ECW name does. we need another ECW tag team title, and some new tag teams. and we need to see stevie richards win that damn ECW belt for once in his life.

Believe you me, I understand where you're going. To me, ECW feels like Ohio Valley Wrestling 2.0; no one really cares who does what unless they make it to either Raw or Smackdown. Brock Lesnar came from there and he made the WWE fun to watch until he just waltzed out and left. Sure Cena and Batista came from there too but they are boring as hell. Point i'm trying to make is if ECW is going to stay around and help the younger guys, they need to step up their game in the writing, wrestling, and keep everything interesting so that it'll be something that I can go to each and every week to find out what's going to happen next. OVW is for the younger guys and gals to step their game up. Raw, ECW, and Smackdown, these people should be ready to go.

Now, if they can get Stevie Richards the belt and help out the younger guys, that would be great! Hell, i'd watch ECW again if he won the title because he's fun to watch! If only Stephanie wasn't so stubborn... :oh_no:

i just think if benoit hadn't gone apeshit and killed himself ECW would have been amazing. when i heard he'd been moved there i was like "awesome, i'm going to have to watch ECW all the time now!" same with when they had RVD, and big show. it was badass at those times. the thing ECW needs is yeah a stepup in story, but it also needs some more big name stars to back it. HHH should move to ECW, mark henry as well, fuck put edge there when he comes back. if ECW had more big names (because let's face it, no one knows who any of the ECW guys are other than punk, boogeyman, and viscera) they'd get better ratings. give it tag team belts as well. so young tag teams could cut their teeth there too. jesse and festus come to mind, as do deuce and domino. and give it more of a presence at PPV events. fuck no mercy had a 4 minute ECW fight? smackdown's pizza contest was longer. honestly i want to see viscera and mark henry feud

TNA Impact! Results: 10-18-07

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's complete report). Results here edited for length and in-ring results.

1 -- CHRIS SABIN vs. ALEX SHELLEY -- Fight for the Right Quarterfinal match

Not even a minute into the match, Brother Ray walked out and said this match sucks. He called them horrible and not wrestlers. Brother Devon then snuck into the ring and jumped them. Ray slowly made his way into the ring and called them a bunch of nobodies. Which one is Krispy Kreme? Ray pulled off his belt and he started whipping them for costing them their match against the Steiners at the PPV. Devon grabbed two tables from under the ring, while Ray cut a promo on the X Division. He said the X Division sucks and he's going to destroy it. Ray said they're going to destroy the X Division because they can. Ray and Devon had two tables set up and they hit powerbombs in stereo.

WINNER: There was a match?

2 -- TALIA MADISON vs. AMAZING KONG

They aired the unedited replay of Kong flipping over the top rope and exposing her chest at the PPV on Sunday. Kong dominated poor Talia here. She nailed a big corner splash and spinning slap before nailing a sit down powerbomb for the win.

WINNER: Kong in 2:00. Total squash to build up Kong as the #1 contender to Gail Kim's Women's Title. (1/2*)

3 -- ROBERT ROODE (w/Ms. Brooks) & JAMES STORM (w/Ms. Jackie) vs. CHRIS HARRIS & RHINO

A minute into the match, Tenay plugged the Mobile info for TNA possibly taking over New Japan. Harris and Rhino worked together early on, then Rhino was cornered in the heel corner. Harris took a hot tag at 4:00 and back body dropped Roode to the mat. He then caught Storm with a spinebuster and dumped him to the floor. Roode went for the Payoff, but Harris went for the Catatonic. After a series of reversals, the action broke down. Storm nailed an enziguiri kick on Harris behind the ref's back, then Roode caught Harris with the Payoff for the win. Afterward, Brooks stared down the planted fan holding a "President of the Robert Roode Fanclub" sign on the front row. She then reluctantly held up Roode's hand in victory. In the ring, Rhino and Harris were at odds with each other.

WINNERS: Roode & Storm in 6:00. Short tag match to continue whatever program these four men are involved in. (3/4*)

4 -- LANCE HOYT (w/Jimmy Rave and Christy Hemme) vs. KAZ -- Fight for the Right Quarterfinal match

Kaz hit a swinging necbreaker at 3:00, but Rave yanked Kaz's foot off a pin on Hoyt. Rave and Christy started arguing, then Christy entered the ring and screamed at Hoyt. Christy and Hoyt starteg arguing, then Kaz grabbed Christy and bent her over. Hoyt became agitated and charged Kaz, but Kaz ducked. Kaz then hit a kick to the face for the win.

WINNER: Kaz in 4:00. The odd couple continues to have problems. Oh, and Kaz won a match. (1/2*)

5 -- DISCO INFERNO vs. ABYSS

Disco tried to land some punches, but Abyss no-sold and landed a forward-falling Torture Rack Slam. Abyss then picked up Disco and landed a Black Hole Slam for the quick win. West finally realized Disco wasn't sincere in his comeback.

WINNER: Abyss in 1:00. Squash. (n/a)

6 -- CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. SAMOA JOE -- Fight for the right to enter the Fight for the Right match

Joe worked on Christian's knee in the early going, but Christian blocked a flying Sentaun splash to begin his attack. Joe quickly came back with a big kick combo, sending Christian to the floor. Joe then measured Christian for a splash on the floor, but Christian slid back into the ring. Christian tried to come back with a suicide dive, but Joe met him with a kick to the face. Joe tried to suplex Christian to the floor, but Christian landed on the apron and gave him a reverse DDT onto the side of the apron. Christian dominated Joe on the floor before they cut to a break.

They returned with Christian executing a neckbreaker in center ring. He then choked Joe for a four count. Christian nailed a corkscrew elbow smash from the second rope, then he mounted Joe in the corner for a few punches, but Joe caught him with a powerbomb in center ring. Christian tried to come back with a dive from the corner, but Joe caught him in mid-air with an Ace Crusher. Joe then made his comeback with a hard clothesline for a two count, followed by a hard chop and kick to the stomach. They went into a spinning roll on the mat, leading to a nearfall by Joe. He went for the Musclebuster next, but Christian fought him off and shoved him to the mat. Christian then hit a frogsplash for a nearfall. Christian slapped Joe around, which Joe took exception to. Unfortunately, the ref took a dive at 16:00. Joe hit the Musclebuster and he scored a pin, but the ref was KO'ed. Styles then ran in. Tomko ran in. Styles ran back in. Tomko then accepted a kick to the groin from Joe. Matt Morgan then came to ringside and started fighting with Tomko. Styles took a side slam, then Joe kicked a chair into Christian's face. Joe slapped on a rear naked choke and Christian tapped out, but the ref was still KO'ed. Suddenly, Robert Roode walked out and smashed Joe in the back with a chair. The ref magically came to life as Christian draped an arm over Joe. He counted a pin by Christian on Joe. Tenay said he hopes to find out what Roode's motivation for that was on next week's show.

WINNER: Christian in 17:00 to advance to the tournament. Really good wrestling match until the screwy TNA over-booking. At least it adds something new to Roode's character and could give Christian's group a new look, but it would be nice to have one TNA match end with a clean finish. (***1/4)

WWE Smackdown Results: 10-19-07

Interactive altercations
By Lennie DiFino
October 19, 2007
UNITED KINGDOM – After invading the Land of the Extreme earlier in the week, Kane returned to Friday Night SmackDown to face The Great Khali. Wasting little time, The Punjab Giant gave the Big Red Monster a not-so-warm welcome back, getting disqualified for using a cable to try and decimate Kane. As Kane recovered from the attack by Khali, ECW’s Big Daddy V made his way to the ring, looking for retribution against the Big Red Monster for his involvement as CM Punk’s partner on ECW on Sci Fi. The Dominating Force in WWE laid waste to Kane, and made it known that the working partnership between SmackDown’s Acting GM Vickie Guerrero and ECW’s man in charge, Armando Estrada, has opened the gates for his personal path of destruction.

Phenomenal statement
After griping to GM Vickie Guerrero about having to face Khali last week, and stating that if Theodore Long were in charge he would never have had to face the Punjab Giant, Jamie Noble was given another worthy opponent – Undertaker. The young cruiserweight pleaded his case, hoping to avoid a confrontation with The Deadman, but to no avail. As The Phenom heads toward his Cyber Sunday showdown with Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship, he dominated Noble, sending another message to The Animal. When Undertaker and Batista step into the ring at Cyber Sunday, you have the power to decide who will be the special guest referee. But will JBL, Stone Cold Steve Austin or Mick Foley be able to control the two behemoths when the gold is on the line?

Out of gas
For the first time since returning to SmackDown, Chuck Palumbo tasted defeat. The rivalry between Palumbo and Masters has been building for weeks as their contempt for one another grows. In a controversial match with Chris Masters, Palumbo lost when Victoria distracted the revved-up Superstar by attacking Michelle McCool. Masters took advantage and rolled Chuck up for the win.

Cruising over the tracks
The cruiserweight tandem of Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore managed to fly high together to defeat Deuce & Domino. Yang enlisted Moore’s help to watch his back after Domino attacked Yang following his victory over Deuce last week. The boys from the Other Side of the Tracks have had their problems lately, unable to find success either together or on their own. While they claim to be “all about cool,” Deuce & Domino have been anything but cool since losing the WWE Tag Team Championship.

One of our own
The pride of Scotland, Drew McIntyre, was in singles action once again on SmackDown, taking on Brian Major. The young Scottish Superstar picked up his second consecutive victory since his debut last week, and he owes both wins to his mentor, Dave Taylor. McIntyre has taken full advantage of Taylor’s helping hand at the expense of the Major Brothers, and the young up-and-comer hopes to continue those winning ways.

Pushing forward
Rey Mysterio, Finlay, Matt Hardy and MVP will all take part in WWE’s interactive pay-per-view, Cyber Sunday, but on SmackDown Rey faced the United States Champion and one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, for the first time. MVP’s co-champion Matt Hardy faced the Irishman in a one-on-one contest that saw his “friend” MVP deliver an unlikely assist. As all four push toward their respective Cyber Sunday matches – matches that YOU have the power to decide – who seized the upper hand?

Taking down a deity
SmackDown’s color commentator JBL interviewed World Heavyweight Champion Batista about his upcoming Cyber Sunday match with Undertaker, and the self-proclaimed “Wrestling God” may have bit off more than he could chew when he began berating The Animal.

Matches
Kane def. The Great Khali (Disqualification)
Chris Masters def. Chuck Palumbo
WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy def. Finlay
Drew McIntyre def. Brian Major
Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore def. Deuce & Domino
Undertaker def. Jamie Noble
United States Champion and WWE Tag Team Champion MVP def. Rey Mysterio (Disqualification, Non-title)

Vince McMahon has a history of singling people out backstage and embarrassing them in front of other wrestlers. Last Monday when Shawn Michaels was the target of Vince's juvenile behavior, it blew up in Vince's face and left even Stephanie McMahon speechless.

Despite the fact that Shawn Michaels returned to WWE a month ahead of schedule, he still has heat with Vince. Shawn made it clear before he returned that he wants more control over his schedule. He won't be doing any overseas tours and will work a somewhat reduced schedule so he can spend more time with his family.

When Shawn showed up to RAW last Monday for the first time since his injury, Vince started "chewing him out" in front of the locker room. He made fun of Shawn's attitude and his clothing, among other things. To the surprise of everybody, HBK fired back at Vince and put him in his place. Shawn made it very clear to Vince in front of everybody that he won't be disrespected by anybody or treated like a rookie.

The wrestlers were shocked that somebody finally stood up to one of Vince's tirades. According to our source, nobody was more shocked than Stephanie McMahon. Witnesses were reportedly amused that Shawn humbled Vince in front of everybody. The McMahons are not necessarily disliked by the roster but this definitely brought Vince down off his high horse.

Shawn and Vince have had a volatile relationship for well over a decade. There is no indication that this incident will have any ramifications on Shawn's WWE status.

Breaking News: WWE Diva Fired & More

I can confirm that Kristal Marshall was let go by WWE. She was dating Lashley and was just involved in a major storyline. We don't have anything more.

More soon.
source...

Despite the fact that TNA Wrestling just added a new Women's division and already has a great deal of underutilized talent on their roster, the company is currently in talks with several free agents.

TNA Mobile sent out an alert this week stating that the company is in talks with Scott Hall, Brian Christopher and Scotty 2 Hotty. Scott Hall has lost a lot of weight and has been wrestling in Puerto Rico. With Kevin Nash on the verge of signing a new contract with TNA to wrestle, there have been reports that Nash has been pushing TNA to bring in his former Outsiders partner.

As I reported here this morning, the company is also looking to bring in 2 Cold Scorpio. Scorpio was signed to a WWE contract after ECW was revived, was never used on television and was released this summer.

TNA Bound For Glory saw the debut a new tag team made up of former WWE stars - Joey Mercury (as Joey Matthews) and Johnny Swinger (as Johhny Perisi). There have been rumors that TNA has talked to Sean Waltman, Sabu and Psycho Sid.

Booker T is all but confirmed to make his TNA debut shortly.

One of the biggest names that could be headed to TNA is Rob Van Dam. Van Dam has been a free agent for several months and we can confirm that he's talked with TNA management about working for them.
source...

Right now WWE’s primary goal is to get ECW’s rating up enough to they can renew their deal with the Sci-Fi Network. That is why the company decided to allow SmackDown talent to appear on the show and vice versa. If Sci-Fi would opt to not renew, ECW will be moved to WWE.com and they would keep their international television clearances for the series.

At this point the future of the entire ECW brand is highly uncertain. It is possible that a year from now ECW could mean as much as Heat or Velocity. There has been some talk in WWE about making Michael Hayes the head creative writer for ECW which would leave one to believe that they are slowly merging back to two brands, RAW and SmackDown.

Bulldog’s boy bites Carlito in Raw debut
By Corey Clayton
October 22, 2007
OMAHA, Neb. – Carlito found out once again that the son of the “British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith has bite.

DH Smith did his father proud in his Raw debut. He defeated Carlito with a thunderous running powerslam – shades of his father’s famed finisher. Watch the video...

Smith displayed his European-style arsenal of powerful maneuvers on worldwide television in a battle of second-generation Superstars. Last week, he raised some eyebrows when he defeated Carlito in the United Kingdom in a match seen exclusively on WWE.com.

After his victory, DH (named so to honor his family) celebrated with our fans as “Rule, Britannia” poured from arena speakers.

The blue-chipper has set his sights high and has put the Raw locker room on notice. Somewhere in the heavens, Davey Boy and DH’s grandfather, Stu Hart, are smiling.

Mixed-mania
In a battle of six current and former champions, Paul London & Brian Kendrick teamed with Mickie James to defeat the trio of the World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch and Melina.

As the fast-paced battle broke down into a six-way scrum, Mickie tackled Melina and sent the paparazzi princess to the floor. But in an odd occurrence, Cade accidentally clotheslined Murdoch as the redneck shoved Mickie out of the way. One shooting-star press by London led to a pinfall on Murdoch.

As London & Kendrick celebrated, a puzzled Mickie looked back on a fallen Murdoch, who appeared to see little comfort in the loss.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T?
Shelton Benjamin told Cody Rhodes it was his lucky night because he would get beaten by the Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team member instead of Hardcore Holly. In the end, Rhodes was lucky – but not because of Benjamin & Charlie Haas.

After Rhodes caught Benjamin with a rollup for the pinfall, he and Haas went on the attack. But suddenly, Hardcore Holly rushed to the ring and came to young Rhodes’ aid. Holly lifted Rhodes off the mat and gave him a nod – has the son of the “American Dream” finally won the hardcore veteran’s respect?

Cold comfort
With the beautiful Maria by his side, Santino Marella continued to slam “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Condemned DVD and whined about not being included in the commemorative 500th issue of WWE Magazine.

But poor Santino can’t seem to get any respect anywhere. He was interrupted by yet another cryptic computer code video – the same one that has surfaced on WWE television for weeks – and then by Ron Simmons. Watch the video...

In his ensuing match with the Superstar of few words, the former Intercontinental Champion kicked a charging Simmons in the groin, which earned a disqualification from the referee despite Santino’s insistence that it was unintentional.

Glamazon sweep
In the first-ever 2-out-of-3-falls Women’s Championship Match on Raw, the powerful Beth Phoenix won two straight falls over the former champion Candice Michelle. But in a scary moment, Candice was knocked out after an awkward fall from the top turnbuckle. The former Women’s Champion was taken from the ring on a stretcher.

Playing “Games”
With Mr. McMahon overseas, his Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman begged General Manager William Regal to sanction a match for the mischievous leprechaun Hornswoggle. While Regal assumed it was to be Coachman vs. McMahon’s bastard son, the Coach had other, bigger ideas for the little guy – Umaga.

Fortunately, for Hornswoggle, he was a little more resourceful than Coachman expected. And Triple H was in the building to give Umaga a taste of the brutality that what awaits them at Cyber Sunday.

Seeking Net gains
Just six days before Cyber Sunday, the four men involved in the voting for the WWE Championship match faced off as WWE Champion Randy Orton teamed with potential challenger Mr. Kennedy against potential opponents Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels.

The three challengers pleaded their case to be selected as Orton’s challenger, but the Legend Killer got “tuned” by Sweet Chin Music for the third straight week in the post-match melee.

Matches
Paul London, Brian Kendrick & Mickie James def. World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch & Melina (Mixed tag-team match)
Cody Rhodes def. Shelton Benjamin
DH Smith def. Carlito
Hornswoggle vs. Umaga (No Contest)
Ron Simmons def. Santino Marella (Disqualification)
Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix def. Candice Michelle (Best 2-out-of-3 Falls, Phoenix wins two straight falls)
Shawn Michaels & Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy def. WWE Champion Randy Orton & Mr. Kennedy

Candice Michelle was injured after falling from the top rope in her match against Women's Champion Beth Phoenix on Raw. She was rushed to a local medical facility where it was determined she suffered a cracked clavicle.

Further tests are currently being conducted to rule out any other possible injuries. Candice will be out of action 6-8 weeks.

I knew when she fell that was gonna be bad. That was just sick, you could hear the ref on the mic telling Beth "you need to pin her", "thats it", "we need a finish".

I give Candice credit for attempting a high spot, but she needs a little more time before trying that again.

eh just rewatched the match. couldn't say i didn't see it coming after that fall. it looked like it was scripted that phoenix hit the ropes when candace went up top, but the fall didn't land the way it was supposed to and things fell apart. but as i've said before beth phoenix is the only real wrestling female in the WWE these days.

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 10-23-07

Tuesday night smash
By Andrew Rote
October 23, 2007
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Big Red Machine made his second straight ECW on Sci Fi appearance Tuesday night when he took on one of the participants in the race for an ECW Title opportunity against CM Punk – Big Daddy V.

The two monsters met in the ring last week when Kane and Punk faced Daddy, The Miz & John Morrison in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. Kane and Big Daddy V’s altercation certainly foreshadowed a contest of colossal proportions for this week; however, no one was able to see the climax of their clash. During the match, Mark Henry marched out to the squared circle in an attempt to shake the Land of the Extreme even more than his fellow fiery SmackDown Superstar has. The crowd of three in the ring quickly became a party of four when The Great Khali joined the other giants. Kane was the man left standing, but this was only the beginning.

Later in the evening, The Great Khali, who was more furious than ever, was seen backstage raving to Ranjin Singh about the events. Big Daddy V and his mentor Matt Striker were also caught away from the ring after the exchange. The four beasts will meet on the next ECW on Sci Fi in ECW’s Monster Mash Battle Royal. Don’t miss what is sure to be one of the most frighteningly immense matches in sports-entertainment history as we find out which monster reigns supreme.

Tuesday night kicked off with The Miz, ever-confident, delivering his thoughts on Kelly Kelly’s actions last week. He reminded her that he owns her contract and then promised to make her life a living hell for asking out Balls Mahoney. John Morrison joined them in the ring, questioning why the blonde tied herself to The Miz in the first place. After suggesting that she bow down to the Shaman of Sexy instead, Kelly slapped the former ECW Champion and left the ring as Mahoney ran in to defend the love of his life.

By the time the brawl was over, CM Punk had joined as well, leading to a main event tag team match being scheduled. Thanks to The Miz and Morrison not exactly being the best of friends, their team fell victim to CM Punk & Balls Mahoney.

In other action, Elijah Burke redeemed himself for last week’s loss to Jesse & Festus when he defeated Nunzio, his partner from that match.

Will either The Miz or Morrison be voted by our fans to take on CM Punk at Cyber Sunday? Or will Big Daddy V steal the show and leave them both watching the pay-per-view in misery from the couch? Find out Sunday at 8/7 CT only on pay-per-view and don’t miss ECW’s Monster Mash Battle Royal Tuesday on ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT. Also, be sure to catch ECW in its entirety every week on WWE.com, available from Wednesday to the following Monday afternoon.

Matches
Kane vs. Big Daddy V (no contest)
Elijah Burke def. Nunzio
CM Punk & Balls Mahoney def. The Miz & John Morrison

1 -- LAX (HERNANDEZ & HOMICIDE) & RICK & SCOTT STEINER vs. B.G. & KIP JAMES (w/Roxxi) & TNA tag champs A.J. Styles & Tomko

Tenay and West pulled a WCW cruiserweight match and talked about Sting-Angle during the first two minutes of this eight-man tag match. Scott dropped B.G. with a belly-to-belly suplex, then LAX proceeded to work over the heels. They cut to a split-screen of Sting's locker room. Tomko ran over Homicide with a clothesline before they went to break. They returned with Hernandez dominating folks until Tomko kicked him in the grill with a big boot. Things broke down and quickly spilled to the floor. Suddenly, Roxxi stepped into the ring and spit in Hernandez's face. Kip then dropped Hernandez with the fameasser. Suddenly, a random dude in gang clothing walked over to Homicide and handed him a slapjack. He did the LAX signal, so that must mean he's legit. Homicide then cracked B.G. with the slapjack and Hernandez rolled over to pin him.

WINNERS: LAX in 10:00. Too many men in the ring; not enough time for anything to stand out. (*)

2 -- ERIC YOUNG vs. JAMES STORM (w/Ms. Jackie Moore) -- Fight for the Right quarterfinal match

Tenay and West talked about Kurt pimping his wife. Tenay said there's a dichotomy where Angle will do anything to win the title and Sting puts family first. Yeah, and Sting doesn't even care about the title, so good point. Storm dominated, then Young made a come back with a corner overhead toss. Young then nailed a DVD for a nearfall. Of course, Jackie hopped on the ring apron to distract Young, who waited for Storm to attack from behind and he ducked to allow Storm to KO Jackie. Storm checked on his woman and walked around ringside with a confused look on his face. Young, being naïve and too caring for the needs of others, checked on Jackie, who sold a legit injury. Storm took advantage with a superkick on Young for the win.

Afterward, Jackie tried to share a beer with Young, but Storm ripped the beer away. Young reached out his hand to ask for the beer. Storm reluctantly tossed the beer to him. Young, not concerned about losing his match, took a swig from the booze. Or, as Tenay put it: "the nectar of the gods." Oh, that Tenay. Hey, where's Rhino? Young finished off the booze and left the ring while West laughed about Young sucking down on a beer.

WINNER: Storm in 5:00. Match outcome apparently didn't matter when the loser quickly recovered from the loss. (3/4*)

3 -- HAVOK vs. SHARK BOY vs. PETEY WILLIAMS vs. THE GURU

Shark Boy was still sporting a neckbrace from Team 3D's beating months ago. Everyone did spots on the floor until Guru hit an Asai moonsault onto everyone. Team 3D had enough and Ray walked out seeing four potential meals. He beat down on all four men while calling them a bunch of crappy men having a crappy match. In the ring, 3D gave Shark Boy a 3D for good measure. Ray cried out that they would destroy the X Division. He said they will follow the X Division like a shadow and they are the greatest team in the history of wrestling. Tables were set for two and they gave Petey and Havok simultaneous powerbombs through tables. Where's Raven and his stick to punish Havok for losing?

WINNER: No Contest in 2:00. Team 3D kills more X Division boys. Tune in next week to see the much-anticipated return of D-Ray 3000 and Amazing Red because they're running out of little boys for Team 3D to eat. (n/a)

4 -- TNA World champion STING vs. KURT ANGLE (w/Karen Angle)

The match started with a story of Sting outwrestling Kurt on the mat. He snapped off a suplex for a nearfall at 6:00 before taking him to the corner for a round of punches to the forehead. Kevin Nash then walked out and West assumed that things just got worse for Angle. Nash sat down in a chair ringside and Sting shook his head. They returned with Angle in control after Sting was distracted by Nash's presence during the commercial break. Nash was in deep thought watching the match from ringside. Sting then made his comeback with a running clothesline, taking Angle over the top rope to the floor. Sting smashed Angle into the ring steps, and West said Sting just creamed his face. Nash inched forward and Sting smacked him in the face for no good reason. Back in the ring, Angle caught Sting in the corner while Nash slowly reached his feet and checked his jaw. Angle went for a Tombstone piledriver, but Sting reversed, only to have Angle counter into an anklelock. Sting escaped, though, and slapped on the Scorpion Deathlock.

Karen screamed at Nash to do something while Angle feigned a tap out. Nash then hopped on the ring apron and tried to get in the ring, but Sting smacked him. Ref bump, then Angle with the Olympic Slam on Sting. Earl Hebner then showed up and countered a three count for Angle, giving him the belt.

Afterward, Tenay and West called it b.s. West complained about the blatant interference from Nash. Nash then slowly entered the ring and smiled at Angle, who flipped him off when they seemed to be on the same page. Kurt took off with Karen following, and Nash gave a wry smile to acknowledge Angle's games. Nash left the ring, then the referees got the heat in the ring. Hebner shoved Rudy Charles for arguing with his call, then Jim Cornette showed up to put his boys in line.

WINNER: Angle in 16:00 to capture the TNA Title. Well, since the belt doesn't mean anything to Sting in the storyline, he shouldn't be losing any sleep over the finish. The match was quite good in the final few minutes with the series of counters and reversals before the usual run of interference to end a TNA title match. (**)

5 -- ANGEL WILLIAMS vs. AWESOME KONG

Regarding Angel's chances against Kong, West asked, Mike, what...does...Angel...Williams...have...to...do? Tenay finally snapped to attention and said he will not sit by and be talked to like that. He said he's doing something he's never done in his broadcasting career and going to interject his opinion in a decision. He stormed off the announce set, leaving West to call the match. Kong with a powerbomb and a stiff upper lip to Angel in the opening minute. She had enough of this peroxide blonde and landed a spinning back hand before nailing another powerbomb, this time for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Kong in 2:00. Short squash. Story was Tenay storming off the set after being schooled. (1/2*)

6 -- JUNIOR FATU vs. ROBERT ROODE (w/Ms. Brooks) -- Fight for the Right tournament match

West said it's a great thing Christian's out here. Christian said Tenay and West are complete bores, so he's here to add some color to the show. Christian explained that the ladder symbolizes the match he made famous: the ladder match. Fatu took control and put Roode in the corner for a big booty splash, but Roode got his knees up to block the splash. Roode took control before they cut to a break. They returned with Roode working over Fatu until Fatu made a comeback with left hand jabs. Roode had enough of that and landed a Blockbuster from the second rope. With the action getting hot, West plugged TNA Mobile to find out that TNA is planning to take over New Japan. Christian, not to be outdone, plugged his recently released DVD. In the ring, Fatu landed a Samoan Drop at 9:00 as Brooks forced a smile from ringside. The referee reached a nine count and they cut to the announce table, so we're assuming both men reached their feet before ten. Fatu then dropped Roode with a chokeslam and slowly dropped to the mat for a one-hand pin, but Roode kicked out. Fatu then landed a DDT, which drew a gasp from Brooks. Fatu made another one-hand pin, but Roode kicked out. Oh wait, there's something going on backstage with Nash and Angle! In any event, Fatu readied for a butt splash, but Roode moved and the ref took bump. Fatu dropped Roode with a superkick, then Roode collapsed on top of the referee and Fatu gave Roode the stink face. Roode quickly shook that off and landed a low blow. Roode demanded the chair from Brooks, who didn't seem to understand what Roode was referring to. Roode had enough and stole the chair from Brooks. Samoa Joe showed up and stole the chair from Roode before smashing him in the shoulder. "I can't believe this crap!" Christian shouted. Fatu rolled Roode over and pinned him once the ref came back to. Afterward, Joe approached Christian at the announce table and chased him to the back.

WINNER: Fatu in 13:00 to advance in the tournament. So many intermingling stories on this show that it was difficult to get into the match. Roode worked a good heel role with Fatu just having fun being in another TV main event match. (*1/2)

so i've come to the conclusion that 2007 is the worst year for the WWE ever. the year started off great. but by about the time wrestlemania came around things started to fall apart. record low ratings on shows, almost losing ECW. losing big name star after big name star. booker, benoit, RVD, big show, test, sandman, sabu, the list goes on and on of big name stars that have been lost, fired, dropped, or died in this past year. and it's not getting any better. i mean fuck the events at cyber sunday are nothing to look forward to. fucking orton vs shawn michaels, matt hardy, or mr. kennedy? fuck bullshit matches. MVP is the US champ? jeff hardy is just kinda holding the IC title. and the cruiserweight title has been held by a midget this year. 07 is easily the worst year for the WWE by far. where's gregory helms? when is bobby lashley coming back? chris jericho is supposed to be a big deal this coming cyber sunday, but who gives a fuck? it really feels like the WWE is just kinda phoning it in these days and not giving us anything of quality while the good wrestlers either die, or get fired. this is a sad year.

WWE Smackdown Results: 10-26-07

Cyber Sunday is one click away
By Lennie DiFino
October 26, 2007
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – SmackDown’s Kane and Mark Henry faced off last Friday, in Henry’s first action since his loss to Undertaker four weeks ago. The Big Red Monster, meanwhile, was coming off his second appearance on ECW on Sci Fi, when the World’s Strongest Man and The Great Khali interrupted his match with Big Daddy V. Kane defeated the self-proclaimed Silverback with a chokeslam, and the fiery Superstar hopes to carry that momentum when he again invades the Land of the Extreme this Tuesday night. The four behemoths are set to meet in a Monster Mash Battle Royal with each hoping to be named the true monster of sports-entertainment on the eve of Halloween.

Cruiser-baited
After facing The Great Khali and Undertaker in consecutive weeks, cruiserweight Jamie Noble hoped that his sweet-talking ways would soften Acting General Manager Vickie Guerrero’s decision-making. Noble’s attempts appeared to be working, until Guerrero informed him he had a match with the World Heavyweight Champion, Batista. The distraught Noble reluctantly made his way to the ring to face the champion, and The Animal wasted little time in decimating his overmatched opponent. Delivering a vicious Batista Bomb to Noble for the victory, the World Heavyweight Champion now heads toward his Cyber Sunday showdown with Undertaker.

Changing faces
Jesse & Festus continued their remarkable streak since debuting on SmackDown, defeating the team of Joe Hennig & Steve Fender. Once again, when the bell sounded to begin the match, Festus transformed from the reserved Superstar our fans are accustomed to seeing, into a monstrously intense in-ring competitor. Picking up another impressive win, the “Biscuits ‘n’ Gravy” tandem keeps their undefeated streak alive on SmackDown.

Triple-threatened
As part of the new working partnership between SmackDown’s Acting GM Vickie Guerrero and ECW’s Armando Estrada, the three ECW Superstars who you can vote to be CM Punk’s opponent at Cyber Sunday were in a Triple Threat Match on SmackDown. Big Daddy V, John Morrison and The Miz all hope to be part of the ECW Championship Match this Sunday, and Friday night was their last chance to campaign for your votes. The Dominating Force in WWE defeated Morrison and Miz to claim the victory, but will that translate into a golden opportunity for Big Daddy V?

All for one, one for all
Partnered up for the very first time, Cyber Sunday opponents Rey Mysterio & Finlay seemed to momentarily put aside their differences when they faced the WWE Tag Team Champions (and Cyber Sunday opponents) Matt Hardy & MVP. But as Mysterio was about to pick up the victory, the Irishman showed his true intentions and double-crossed the Master of the 619, allowing the Ballin’ Superstar to take full advantage of the opening.

Wrestling God goes six feet under
Last week, JBL found himself the recipient of a spear from World Heavyweight Champion Batista after calling The Animal a coward. This week, the SmackDown commentator looked to interview The Phenom about the Batista-Undertaker showdown at Cyber Sunday, a match in which you choose JBL, Mick Foley or “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as the special guest referee. Instead, the former champion JBL berated The Deadman, reminding him of their rivalry from JBL’s in-ring days. Undertaker chokeslammed the self-proclaimed “Wrestling God,” but then his Cyber Sunday opponent Batista came out to deliver a message of his own to Undertaker.

WWE Cyber Sunday PPV Results: 10-28-07

Real-time results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's results)

Finlay and Rey Mysterio came out for the opening match. Cue up Todd Grisham for the match stipulation announcement. Grisham stretched this out for a time longer than needed. And the results... 40 percent for stretcher, 36 percent for No DQ, and 24 percent for Shillelagh.

1 -- FINLAY vs. REY MYSTERIO -- Stretcher Match

Finlay tossed Rey through the ring directly on to the stretcher in the opening two minutes. The fight continued on the floor, with Finlay suplexing Rey across the stretcher. Back in the ring, Rey came back with a head scissors before chucking Finlay to the floor. Rey tried to push Finlay and the stretcher over the line, but Finlay slipped off and avoided certain defeat. Finlay eyed the shillelagh hanging on a pole, but Rey caught him with kicks to the gut. Rey then dropped a basement dropkick to the family jewels. This led to a sequence of both men trying to grab the shillelagh before Rey landed a sunset flip powerbomb in the corner. Rey then retrieved the shillelagh, but Finlay stole it and started bashing Rey's knee. Rey and Finlay started playing tug of war with the stretcher, but Rey hit a 619 and sentaun splash on the stretcher. Rey had Finlay halfway up the ramp, but a TV chord was caught underneath a wheel, so Finlay flew off to the ground. Rey regrouped, they did another spot sequence, and Rey dumped Finlay onto the stretcher and wheeled him across the finish line to win.

WINNER: Rey Mysterio in 10:00. Good action while it lasted. Crowd responded well to Rey in jeopardy throughout the match. Not as memorable a victory had Rey picked up a pin, though. (**1/4)

WWE Cyber Sunday PPV Results: 10-28-07

C.M. Punk came out to defend the ECW Title. Todd Grisham broke down the voting in slow-motion form. 39 percent for The Miz. No surprise there! Two reasons: He hasn't faced Punk yet, so it's a fresh match-up, and the fans have been trained to see Miz as an easier opponent for Punk.

2 -- C.M. PUNK vs. THE MIZ -- ECW Title match

Styles and Tazz talked about Punk wanting to face Miz, according to their conversation before the show. Suddenly, the PPV went out. Comcast didn't have their house in order with the time change next week, not this week. And we rejoin with Punk in a headlock on Miz. Miz returned the favor a few minutes later and the camera zoomed in tight to see Punk and Miz having a conversation. Punk then tried to comeback with a springboard splash, but Miz was down on all fours and Punk crashed down on Miz's upper back. Punk then hit a corner knee strike and springboard clothesline for a nearfall. Suddenly, Miz scored a nearfall with a hook of the tights, then Punk avoided the Reality Check and nailed the Go 2 Sleep for the win.

WINNER: Punk in 9:00 to retain the ECW Title. A few off moments early on, but a nice final two minutes. Punk with a good win versus an opponent he could actually move around the ring, unlike Viscera. (*1/2)

WWE Cyber Sunday PPV Results: 10-28-07

William Regal joined Todd Grisham at CS HQ to determine who faces Randy Orton for the title. Regal said the two losers face each other. They cut backstage where Michaels, Hardy, and Kennedy stared at the camera with tense facial expressions. Voting wasn't even close. Michaels 59, Hardy 31, Kennedy 10.

3 -- IC champion JEFF HARDY vs. MR. KENNEDY -- non-title match

Hardy knocked Kennedy to the floor early on and went for a plancha on the floor that both men took the brunt of. Back in the ring, Kennedy dominated Hardy on the mat, until he went up top and accepted a huracanrana from Hardy. Hardy landed a clothesline before taking Kennedy down with the Whisper in the Wind when Kennedy blocked the Twist of Fate. Only a nearfall, though. Suddenly, the match was over when Hardy missed with his elevated dropkick in the corner and Hardy hit the back of his head on the mat. Kennedy made a cover for the win.

WINNER: Kennedy in 9:00. Not a good sign for Hardy's push, but we'll see what happens on Raw. Match stayed in first gear and didn't quite pick up until the end. (*3/4)

MVP came out to defend the U.S. Title. JBL changed his attitude about Vickie Guerrero and said she's crazy for booking MVP in a match tonight. He said maybe Jamie Noble is right about Vickie's hormones being out of control. They went to Grisham and Vickie to see who MVP is facing tonight. Looked like a bad couple presenting Best director at the Oscars. Backstage, Henry, Khali, and Kane stood by to see the results. Kane won in a landslide.

4 -- MVP vs. KANE -- U.S. Title match

MVP wanted nothing to do with Kane early on. The match then transitioned into Kane working heel with MVP taking Kane's offense. Kane then wrapped MVP's stomach around the ringpost and MVP collapsed to the floor. He made several half-attempts to re-enter the ring, but he finally collapsed to the floor and was counted out. Cole and JBL debated the merits of MVP's "efforts" to get back in the ring for the match.

WINNER: Kane via count out in 7:00; MVP retains the U.S. Title. Sluggish match that dragged. The count-out fits MVP's character, but the match certainly wasn't a satisfying replacement for the MVP vs. Hardy advertised contest. (1/2*)
