Here is the WWE's official statement on the situation:
Wellness Policy Suspensions

Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.’s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its wellness policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations. It has been WWE’s practice not to release the names of those who have been suspended, but notice has been sent to all WWE performers that names of anyone who is suspended under the Wellness Policy as of November 1 will be made public.

TNA Impact! Results: 8-30-07

Results courtesy of PWTorch.com (direct link to Caldwell's report)

1 -- KIP JAMES & B.G. JAMES (w/Roxxi LaVeaux) vs. MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS (CHRIS SABIN & ALEX SHELLEY)

The action continued with MCMG working on B.G. James. They hit a combination drop kick on B.G. before Kip attacked Shelley on the outside and threw him into the guardrail. Back in the ring, Kip gave Sabin a Cobra Clutch Slam and B.G. covered him for a three count.

WINNERS: Kip & B.G. in 1:00. The match result writes itself. (n/a)

After the action, Kip took the mic and asked if there are any other worthy tag teams in the building. The fans chanted, "That was bulls---". LAX's music hit, then Homicide and Hernandez came out. Triple X walked out. Young & Shark Boy also came out. Suddenly, a brawl broke out in the ring. Random action as Tenay talked about it turning into a battle royale.

Backstage, Borash found Karen Angle walking down the hallway. Borash asked Karen if she should really be going to Samoa Joe's locker room. She said it would be OK since Samoans have short memory. Karen then slowly walked in and Samoa Joe dropped his phone call to ask Karen if she was really serious. He told her to walk back out the door before he does something they'll both regret. Karen asked the million dollar question of how long the war between Joe and Angle has to go on. Karen said they should unite the two more powerful forces going today since none of them are winning alone. Joe said those are good points, then he calmed down and said they could take over the world together. Joe then switched gears to yelling and screaming about Karen needing to be there ringside when he takes Joe apart bone by bone. That way, she'll be able to see first-hand what pain she caused her husband. Joe forced her against a wall, then Karen left near tears.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage, Karen Angle interrupted Christian Cage, A.J. Styles, and Tomko's interview time with Borash. Christian asked Karen if she was lost since the strip club is down the line. Styles defended Karen, so she tugged on his jacket. Karen then proposed a deal where she helps Christian win and he gets the first title shot against Angle. Christian said he wasn't biting because the only liar bigger than Karen around here is him. He stormed off with Tomko, then Karen got in close to Styles. He initially wasn't biting on Karen's offer of winning the tag match, then receiving a title shot. Styles stormed off, then came back right back and made sure Karen was serious. Karen pulled Styles in close and told him just to win. She kissed him on the cheek then left. Styles told Borash that she definitely wants him. They shared a laugh, then Styles told Borash not to tell Angle. Borash hinted that the camera was watching.

From that quiet interview to Mike Tenay screaming from ringside, Tenay ran down the upcoming PPV card.

They cut to the adventures of James Storm bar-hopping. He walked into a bar looking for Rhino. A bunch of guys told Storm to beat it. One guy said Rhino was at the bar the other day. Storm tried to threaten the guy with karate. A screen flashed to call a number if you've seen Rhino: 1-888-Have-A-Beer.

Christian Cage walked out alone for the four-way main event match. Tenay took us back to last week about Christian faking an injury. A.J. Styles came out second. Samoa Joe then came out with his Samoan dance troupe.

[Q3]

Suddenly, they cut backstage where Karen tried to talk Sting into winning the match. Karen told Sting to do it for the kids and be a role model with Angle. Sting said that if Karen is so concerned about the children, she needs to change her dress. Ouch. Sting came out, then Kurt and Karen came out to watch the match.

[Commercial Break]

2 -- CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. A.J. STYLES vs. STING vs. SAMOA JOE -- winner receives one-half of tag titles

The bell sounded and the action quickly broke down. Christian and Styles suddenly chucked Joe to the outside before double-teaming Sting in the ring. Sting then came back with a double clothesline to knock Styles to the floor. Sting worked on Christian and went for the Scorpion deathlock, but Christian reached the ropes to break the hold. Suddenly, Styles and Sting brawled on the floor and Joe went for a rear naked choke on Christian, only to have Styles break up the hold. Joe answered with a standing enziguiri on Styles before throwing him head-first into Christian's crotch. Suddenly, Styles came off the top with a back flip inverted DDT on Joe. Sting then re-entered the ring and chucked Christian and Styles to the floor. They cut to a break with Sting and Joe having a staredown.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Joe hit a snap powerslam on Sting for a nearfall. Styles and Christian re-entered the ring and had a dispute when Styles broke up Christian's pin attempt. Styles suddenly rolled up Christian for a nearfall. Christian did likewise. They went into an exchange of pins before Christian scored a nearfall on a backslide attempt.

[Q4]

Styles jumped over Christian to set up the Styles Clash, but Christian slipped out and Sting ate the Pele soccer kick from Styles. Christian then missed with a top rope frog splash and everyone recovered on the mat. On the outside, Kurt Angle lifted his sunglasses to show shock on his face as everyone recovered in the ring. Joe then cleared everyone to the outside and flew over the top rope with a cannonball dive ala Unbreakable 2005 on Styles and Daniels. They cut to a break.

[Commercial Break]

They returned with Christian stomping on Sting and Styles. During the break, Christian laid out Joe with a low blow and Unprettier on the floor. Christian and Styles seemed to be communicating again, this time about taking out Sting. They took too long getting on the same page, allowing Sting to come back with a Splash on Styles in the corner. Sting then dropped Christian with the Deathdrop for a nearfall when Styles broke up the pin. Styles helped Christian to his feet, then told him to get a chair. Joe ripped it away from Christian, though, and threw him onto the announce table. They brawled ringside and to the backstage area. Meanwhile, Styles tried to remove the turnbuckle pad, leading to Tomko running in and dropping Sting with a big boot to the head. Styles then covered Sting while grinning from ear-to-ear, but Sting kicked out just in time. Styles then jumped into the Scorpion Deathlock and Styles cried out in pain before tapping out to Sting.

WINNER: Sting in 20:00 to become one-half of the TNA tag champions. Great action throughout. All over the map and a lack of long-term selling at times, but it fit TNA's vision and theme of non-stop action. A strong upgrade over recent TNA match offerings. (***)

After the match, Kurt had an indifferent look of non-excitement on his face. Kurt and Karen then entered the ring and Kurt reluctantly handed over one of the belts at Karen's urging. Sting took it from Karen, then she clapped it up for both men. Kurt and Sting shook hands, then all three stood tall in center ring. Kurt and Karen left the ring while Sting celebrated by himself. Suddenly, Killings and Pacman hit the ring and jumped Sting. Pacman warmed up the spray can, then he gave Sting the nWo mark across his back. Kurt then ran back into the ring and cleared Team Pacman from the ring.

More from PWInsider.com:

Here are a few more notes from WWE Lawyer Jerry McDevitt's appearance on Greta tonight:

- After confirming information from the Albany DA today, Mr. McMahon himself informed the 10 talents that they would be suspended.

- Nine of the suspensions are the Superstar's first offense while one is the second offense for the Superstar. First offenses carry 30 days while second offenses carry a suspension of 60 days. Again, McDevitt didn't name any names or speculate as to who may have what.

- All of the suspensions come with no pay.

Since this is Randy Orton's second offense, he draws the 60 days. Kind of throws a big wrench in his fued with Cena :oh_no:

WWE Smackdown Results: 8-31-07

Conquests and champions
By Lennie DiFino
August 31, 2007

ALBANY, N.Y. – Rey Mysterio’s return to Friday Night SmackDown saw the high-flying Superstar take part in the Championship Competition to name the No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship held by The Great Khali. Also participating were Finlay, Kane and Rey’s longtime friend Batista. Finlay defeated Kane in controversial fashion and then interrupted the match between The Animal and Mysterio, giving Rey the victory via disqualification. In the final match, The Irishman took on the Master of the 619, with Rey managing to come out on top to earn a championship match at Unforgiven. The Great Khali made his way to the ring, and the two SmackDown Superstars had the most lopsided stare down in the history of sports-entertainment.

From bitter rivals in the ring to a formidable tag team, United States Champion MVP and Matt Hardy took on the WWE Tag Team Champions Deuce & Domino. The champions attacked both MVP and Matt last week during the One-on-One Basketball Challenge, and the U.S. Champion and Hardy looked for retribution. While the young North Carolinian fought his hardest, MVP concentrated on Deuce’s girl Cherry outside the ring. When Hardy tagged in his partner in a highly unorthodox manner, the cocky MVP retaliated and then picked up the victory to crown new WWE Tag Team Champions.

Hoping to shake off the embarrassment of this past Monday night on Raw, Mr. McMahon was in Albany as the search for his illegitimate son continued. Jonathan Coachman paraded out a host of women he believed could be behind the paternity suit, and the Chairman was taken down memory lane once again. The women spoke of their experiences with Mr. McMahon and our fans saw the Chairman in an opposite light from the picture painted on Monday by Triple H. Mr. McMahon then had stern warnings for the rest of the McMahon family –words of warning that will play out Monday on Raw when Linda, Stephanie and Shane return to WWE – with their lawyers.

Warnings should be issued every time Mark Henry enters an arena and the self-proclaimed silverback once again proved that case. Henry made his colossal presence felt as Eugene interacted with our fans in Albany, demolishing the happy-go-lucky Superstar. After the destruction that has become accustomed to any Superstar in Henry’s path, another video played that showcased the return of Undertaker. Has the confidence of the World’s Strongest Man placed him directly in the path of The Phenom?

One Superstar who has returned to SmackDown with a new fire is Chuck Palumbo. The revved-up Superstar took the Masterlock Challenge issued by Chris Masters, but Masters attacked Palumbo before the challenge could happen. Palumbo managed to fight off Masters, and the two exchanged glares and words as the Masterpiece exited the arena.

Hoping to offer his own challenge to a championship is cruiserweight Jamie Noble. The No. 1 contender to Hornswoggle’s Cruiserweight Championship told Shannon Moore that he will challenge SmackDown’s leprechaun when he is ready. After humiliation in his first few encounters with Hornswoggle, Noble may want to rethink his strategy before he ends up on the short end of another Hornswoggle embarrassment.

Matches
Finaly def. Kane
United States Champion MVP and Matt Hardy def. Deuce & Domino to become WWE Tag Team Champions
Rey Mysterio def. Batista (Disqualification)
Masterlock Challenge - Chris Masters vs. Chuch Palumbo (No Contest)
Rey Mysterio def. Finlay to become No. 1 contender to World Heavyweight Championship

Hopefully this isn't a repost, if so sorry.

My local paper (Newsday on Long Island) said they they have an 11th person that will face a suspension. They of course didn't say who it was but he'll get the same 30 day suspension the other 9 got.

Since the departure of Mike Buscci and World Wrestling Entertainment, Tommy Dreamer has been approached to help fill his position since Bucci was the one who originally replaced Dreamer.

The plan is to have Tommy Dreamer help in the interim while the company finds someone new to fill that position full-time. Val Venis and Ty Bailey are two candidates that they had in mind. Bailey is an office executive who works under John Laurinaitis while Venis, a long tenured performer in the company on the RAW brand, has been long expected to eventually slide into an office position.

During the meeting before the ECW/SmackDown! tapings yesterday, Batista asked Stephanie McMahon what he could do legally about his name being included in the recent media reports, citing publicly in front of the crew that he had never received anything from the online pharmacy companies. Stephanie told him that was an issue he and his attorneys should look into, also mentioning that she was under the impression he was already doing that (which would mean a civil lawsuit seeking damages).

Batista claims that there was no connection between him and the pharmacies and he is very upset at Sports Illustrated and other media outlets for reporting his name.

PWInsider is reporting that there was an incident involving the two and WWE Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch that took place at the RAW house show in Indiana yesterday. This incident was dealt with over the phone from yesterday's TV tapings in Cincinnati where they made the decision to let Cryme Time go.

Bob "Hardcore" Holly might be done as an active pro wrestler. Holly is reportedly having issues with his arm as a result of recent surgery and was slated to return to the Smackdown brand very soon.

The word that made the rounds at WWE's TV tapings yesterday was that his condition got worse after the surgery and he has having problems with feeling in his arm. A majority of the blame is being put on the doctors who operated on him.

We will continue to follow this situation as it develops.

im tellin' you guys...ive said it before and i'll say it again:

as soon as it hit the year 2000, shit started to hit the fan.

dont get me wrong, im not wishing any ill-will on my favorite sport nor am i religious or spirtual about things at all...but it does feel like some sort of weird omen is going on.

...and if 2000 felt like it was the year the wrestling business started to fuck up, then 2007 would be the year it died. not permently or immediatly, of course, but so it can get better again and it's performers can get healthier.

edit:
this sorta sums up my post.

Here's a follow-up on the Cryme Tyme incident:

PWTorch.com reports that the Cryme Tyme release stemmed from actions the tag team performed following their Terre Haute house show match against Cade and Murdoch.

According to the Torch report, the two teams had reportedly been developing heat with each other over the course of the past few weeks. That built into an incident prior to the match, in which Shad Gaspard told Lance Cade that "what happens in the ring happens," essentially implying that there might be some stiff shots exchanged. Cade mocked Gaspard's threat in front of a number of wrestlers backstage.

In order to get back at Cryme Tyme for what they perceived as a threat, Cade and Murdoch met with the referee and arranged a rib. Essentially, the plan was to "fast count" while JTG was out of the ring, resulting in a count out loss for Cryme Tyme; Cryme Tyme was unaware of this plan until it was executed in front of the live audience.

In what sources say was a move to save face, Cryme Tyme then decided, without telling the referee, to execute their finishing move on him (they reportedly did so safely, but it was still unexpected). They also tossed his belt into the crowd.

Words were exchanged in the backstage area following the segment, and WWE management eventually made the call to release Cryme Tyme, who were reportedly on thin ice with management anyway due to what some backstage perceived as an attitude problem. The tag team was reportedly unhappy and surprised with WWE's decision.

The increased scrutiny on WWE stemming from the Benoit tragedy, the Congressional investigation and the recent steroid controversy has resulted in a zero-tolerance policy backstage.

I agree with all you said. It's a lot like a fight in any sport: you always catch the retaliator and not the instigator. If TNA is smart and watching all this, they'd sign these two in a heartbeat. I can see Cryme Tyme fitting in over there, especially with the likes of Team 3D and the other tag teams.
