MVS Games w/ Plastic Box from yaton6262: real or fake

Hello, I see an ebay seller named yaton6262 selling MVS games with a Plastic Box for each game, and each box also has a paper cover. I was unaware that MVS games came with such a box. Does anyone know if these are authentic or counterfeit? Does anyone know if yaton6262 is a member of these boards? If so, is he/she trustworthy? Also, are the MVS games in the see-thru blue case authentic? I'd appreciate any assistance on this. Thank you.

It's all fake bud! However for the low price how can you complaint, if you are looking for original carts refrain from him, he's a great seller, but is more for the gamers than the collectors.

Yaton is a good guy and his low price point coincides with the condition of his merchandise, I hope this helps.

does anyone know if his "new" kit's are original?

I bought a Sengoku 3 new kit from him before and it's 100% new and original.

Check out his site: www.arcademvs.com

He uses the same descriptions on Ebay. That way you can tell which is fake and which is legit. He also sells lots of legit carts with fake labels. Getting familiar with his descriptions will help you destinguish the difference.

Someone already confirmed, but yes his plastic boxes are fake.

theres a chance if the label is a repro that the cart case will be a replacement case too.

other than that, theres no "real" plastic box hence there cant be a "fake" one.

A quick search of the forum would've answered ALL of these questions. I hate being a search nazi but this one is especially common.

"100% original": the board set is 100% original and legit. It's guaranteed (by Yaton) to work. The label and / or plastic cart shell may be replacements. The cart could be extremely dirty, inside and out. Every "original" cart I've bought from him has been legit and playable, but some have needed a good scrubbing.

"100% working" or "special": bootleg, to at least some extent. He still guarantees they work to the extent that they're playable but they may have the usual bootleg problems (i.e., no endings). The shell / label may or may not be SNK originals but who cares since the boards are boots anyway. I've bought two from him: Twinkle Star Sprites and Neo Turf Masters. TSS was 100% boot and works 100%. NTM had one original board (with original mask roms) and one boot board. The boot board had some bad solder joints that had to be reflowed. It now works 100%. HOWEVER, AS WITH ANY BOOTLEGS, YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY AND IT IS A GAMBLE AS TO WHETHER IT WILL WORK RIGHT IN YOUR SYSTEM.

"New kit": 100% legit, new MVS kit. I've bought two and they've both been perfect.

Those plastic boxes are similar to shock boxes but are NOT SHOCK BOXES. They're segmented (so you can't use shock box inserts) and from what I gather, the quality is questionable. If you get a cart with one of these, consider it as extra packing to protect the actual cart in shipping. Do not pay extra because of the box.

Finally, I've done a good bit of business with him, both through eBay and his web site (www.arcademvs.com). I've never had a problem, though shipping can be very slow.

Another Yaton thread. Yaton is fine if your just a gamer and not too anal of a collector. Watch out for the 100% working because they usually mean boot. even though it has a fake label and shell, most are usually the original boards. Most of his new kits are that, new. My KOF2K3 box was a little beat up but, you can't beat the price. The plastic boxes are crap, they don't even make good fire starters.

I've found that if I search on more than one word or if one of the words is too common, I get an out of memory error. "yaton" and "yaton6262" both work, though. I checked. :)

Thats like a huge understatement. To Hawaii on average is just over 30 days.

Sorry about asking what I guess is a common question, but I am new to this site, and so I was unaware about the search function. In any event, your reply was very helpful, and I appreciate it. Thanks.

For a while he only sold "100% original" carts on ebay, but lately he has been also selling "100% working" ones on ebay, with the location listed in China. It's too bad to see him go back to this. It gives you bad hits on your favorite searches, and I'm not sure if it's allowed on ebay. Don't worry about the kits, they're legit.
