Put a switch in for mono (jamma) or stereo (mvs)

There is not much difference between MVS and Jamma

You could always get one of those switchers for cabs that have multiple jamma boards but you would have to of courses till buy the nintendo adapter as well.

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Currently I am in the process of designing a ‘JAMMA PCB to NeoGeo MVS cabinet adapter’ … This will allow you to install regular JAMMA PCB’s directly into your 4 slot MVS cab.

I am hoping to have it completed by sometime next week, and then it will take about a month to go from prototype testing to actual ready for sale.

You will see this product appear on the main page of the online shop under ‘Recently added items’ once it’s ready for sale.

Thank you again for your inquiry and please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

Tim Hensel

You can install a toggle switch mod that will let you change from MVS to JAMMA audio using a $6 switch at Radio Shack. I don't know how to do the mod personally, but it was done to my SuperNeo29.

All it takes is connecting a mono speaker between jamma pin L and 10.
This is not rocket science.

Problem resolved! MVS connector works like a champ. My Unibios setting was set for Console. Once I switched it to MVS, I had no problems with the "A" buttons on controller one or two. I recommend this product for those of you like me.....JAMMA Wire impaired. Thanks to those of you that made an effort to help me resolve this issue. In particular, KPJ, Razoola and Ted.

Now after 4 weeks of piecing the Egret together, I finally get to truly enjoy it!!
You fixed it by putting it in MVS mode?? But now you can't play in AES mode because your "adapter" screwed up the wiring for the select button! All you're doing is covering up the problem.

Lose the adapter and wire it up the correct way. As of now, you only have a partially functioning MVS.

NEOGEO MVS PCB with 2 Joystick ports on regular Jamma Cabinet.

Hello,
I’m interested in buying a NEOGEO MVS PCB to play some MVS carts which I own.
I noticed that the 2 cart slot MVS PCBs have 2 joystick ports as well as the Jamma port and stereo output.
I own a regular Arcade cabinet with 2 joysticks, 2 sets of 6-buttons, a regular Jamma slot and one speaker (Mono sound) connected to the Jamma slot of the cabinet.

My queries are:

1. Will the 2 cart slot MVS PCBs work on my regular Jamma arcade cabinet (Both joysticks and Mono sound) if I connect the MVS PCB to the cabinet Jamma slot and leave the extra 2 joystick ports and stereo output of the MVS PCB unconnected?

2. Do the 1 cart slot MVS PCBs also feature 2 Joystick ports and Stereo output and should I get one of these instead?

3. Also, one more very important aspect!
Will I need a different power supply to power the MVS PCB on my regular Arcade Jamma cabinet?
I wouldn't want to burn it up!

Here it says:

http://www.hardmvs.com/html/MVSfaq.htm

Q: Will the motherboards work in a JAMMA cabinet?
A: They will all work, but are not 100% JAMMA compliant

Q: What does that mean?
A: The 1 slot boards are the closest to JAMMA, but have the addition of a 4th button. Some of the 1 slot boards have an external connector to run Stereo sound instead of the mono JAMMA sound.

It doesn't really go into depth of whether I'll need to do any soldering and add extra wires, or if it needs a different power supply?

From what I understand it will work, excluding the 4th button and the stereo sound on a regular 3 button Jamma cabinet.

However, it doesn't mention if it will work on a Jamma+ 6-button cabinet though?

Thanks in advance.

I originally couldn't find the product but after several search terms came across this: http://www.jammaboards.com/store/jamma-to-neogeo-adapter/prod_228.html can i get a confirmation that this is all I'd need for jamma games to be played in the MVS cab? Anybody else do this? If so can I see pictures of how you mount your PCBs??

Yes, I think that is all you'll need.

I bought one of these converters. And when I hooked it up the video still wasn't coming through. Is there something I'm doing wrong. I have a cabinet that will run CP two boards but when I hook up a single slot mvs I don't get a picture it just reads no signal input. Is this because I'm using a LCD screen?
