Randy Orton is in hot water

Source: wrestlezone.com

It was originally reported Friday that Randy Orton was sent home from the European tour for trashing a hotel room. The damage has been rumored to be estimated around $30,000. There has been talk that he will not be working next Sunday’s Backlash PPV. This has yet to be confirmed.

Here's some additional info...

An Update On Randy Orton Situation
04/23/2007 by Ryan Clark

With regard to the Randy Orton situation, there have been lots of rumors swirling around, and none of them good for Orton.

Although not confirmed, there is talk that Orton may even be pulled from Backlash this Sunday where he is scheduled to compete in a Fatal Four Way along with John Cena, Shawn Michaels, and Edge.

A few people have noticed that commercials airing to advertise the main-event at Backlash have not included Orton, however given WWE's history of advertising screw ups, this could just be a simple mistake.

The third generation star is no stranger to controversy in WWE after being accused of harassing former WWE employees Amy Weber and Rochelle Loewen, as well as being listed in a Sports Illustrated for obtaining the drugs clomiphene citrate and the steroids stanozolol, nandrolone, anastrozole, oxandrolone, and testosterone.

We will keep you updated on the situation, but it is clearly serious for Orton.

I forsee Orton either getting released or getting pushed down to the bottom of the latter in WWE, then, Orton will ask for his release.

Randy has had plenty of chances in the past but the boy doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. He's a very talented person and he can only get better however as long as he carries some immaturity with him, the WWE will drop him fast, third generation wrestler or not.

that's what bothers me. he should know better, he's not a kid, fuck kenny dykstra is younger than him and he hasn't had any problems backstage. orton just seems to lack respect and it bothers me, especially since his dad and grandpa were class acts. it's pretty shameful. i think he needs some time off, and needs to get a talkin to from his dad.

Which probably explains why he was discharged out of the Marines. He was in the Marines for a short while, but, he was discharged.

It was almost exactly a year ago since Orton was last suspended by the WWE. It was for 60 days as first reported here in Post #5071, then Post #5080:
"The PWTorch Newsletter reports that Randy Orton has been fined by WWE multiple times for using the “C-word” to insult women behind the scenes in WWE, however has not taken it seriously. His attitude towards WWE’s rules and punishment is said to be what got him suspended this time.

"He's lucky he didn't get fired. He has a lot of growing up to do. It was just stupid - disrespectful to the boys and the company." Says one WWE source about his latest incident. "Undertaker despises him, and Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and even Triple H have grown tired of his act. They barely tolerate him."

Orton’s disrespectful treatment of women is said to be what has turned most people backstage against him. As previously reported, he is the most disliked person in the locker room right now.

And finally more in Post #5088:
Randy Orton was suspended by WWE this past week for 60 days following a major incident that only worsened his already poor backstage reputation. According to the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, the final incident occurred at some point in Chicago. It is being called a "near disaster," and the feeling is that if Orton were not a top name, he would have been fired for his actions. But by no means was this an isolated incident. It was Orton's behavior that initially prompted WWE management to give Kurt Angle the title vacated by Batista.

And, while Orton avoided a suspension due to being booked for the WrestleMania main-event, an incident after No Way Out forced WWE to nix giving him the title at the 'Mania pay-per-view. These individual incidents only increased management's disapproval of Orton's behavior; he was specifically notorious for disrepecting female WWE workers.

Although the feeling is that by posting news of his suspension, WWE is practically confirming Randy Orton will come back, other insiders are not so sure that is the case and are even less sure that the suspension will be for only sixty days. There is already feeling within WWE that SmackDown needs to create a new top heel and a returning Ken Kennedy, already over with the fans, could receive the chance to fill that slot.

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 4-24-07

Making painful statements
By Bryan Robinson
April 24, 2007

LONDON - It was an evening of making statements on ECW on Sci Fi. ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley showed Umaga and the McMahons that he was ready to battle overwhelming odds in his title defense this Sunday at Backlash, and CM Punk showed the New Breed that he is his own man.

The ECW Champion’s three Backlash opponents sent him a clear message on Raw this week. Umaga and Shane McMahon decimated a local British grappler named Robbie Brookside in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match and allowed Mr. McMahon to make the pin. But tonight on ECW on Sci Fi, Lashley showed he was not intimidated when he battled Umaga less than a week before Backlash.

The Samoan Bulldozer didn’t need motivation in this match; Lashley cost him the Intercontinental Championship against the unknown Santino Marella last week on Raw. With the Chairman watching from a monitor in the dressing room, Umaga went after Lashley with a vengeance.

But when the ECW World Champion battled back and it appeared he would snatch a victory away from Umaga, his manager, Armando Estrada, interfered and struck Lashley in the back with his title. However, Lashley made Umaga’s handler pay dearly. After knocking Umaga out of the ring, the enraged champion grabbed Estrada and near cut him in half with a thunderous spear. Lashley stood over the fallen Estrada and glared at the Chairman, who had emerged from the back to restrain Umaga. Mr. McMahon’s eyes bulged in horror as Lashley gorilla-pressed Estrada and tossed him out of the ring.

Lashley stood tall in this latest battle with the McMahons and Umaga, but the odds will be stacked against him at Backlash. He will be battling a monstrous savage and two vengeful McMahons who are determined to bring honor back to their family name. And if either Umaga, Shane McMahon or Mr. McMahon pin Lashley or make him submit, ECW will have a new World Champion.

Meanwhile, as Lashley prepares for perhaps a climatic battle in his war with the Chairman, it seems like a new war has started between CM Punk and Elijah Burke and the New Breed. Burke began to mistrust the New Breed’s newest member – a man he personally recruited – when he saw the straightedge Superstar assuming a leadership role in the group. His distrust wasn’t eased when Punk accidentally cost him a victory in his match against the Originals’ Rob Van Dam last week.

Punk repeatedly apologized for costing Burke the match, but the relationship between the New Breed’s most dominant personalities only appeared to disintegrate this week. Before an Eight-Man Elimination Match with the ECW Originals, Burke told New Breed teammates Matt Striker, Kevin Thorn, and Marcus Cor Von that he believed he had made a mistake by recruiting Punk. He even told Punk to sit out of the Elimination Match.

But Punk did not take lightly to taking orders from Burke. The straightedge Superstar cost Burke and the New Breed their match against Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, and Sandman. After the match, Punk didn’t appear apologetic as he stood over a fallen a Burke and said, with a smirk on his face, “I’m really sorry.”

With that, Punk walked out the ring alone. It is apparent that he is no longer a member of the New Breed – but he is not aligned with the ECW Originals, either. The straightedge Superstar showed that he stands alone and follows no one.

Another ECW Superstar who appears to walk to the beat of his own drummer is the deranged Snitsky, who has terrorized ECW for months. Two weeks ago, he stalked Layla of Extreme Exposé, and who knows what might have happened if Balls Mahoney hadn’t intervened. Snitsky made him pay with a boot to the face, and this week, Balls sought revenge. But alas, ECW’s “Captain Caveman” came up short as Snitsky brutalized him before getting the pinfall.

Matches
ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley def. Umaga (DQ; Non-title)
Snitsky def. Balls Mahoney
The ECW Originals def. the New Breed (Eight-Man Elimination Match)

Apparently James Caldwell liked the match via his RAW report. He gave it 4 and a half stars: PWTorch.com: Caldwell's RAW Report: 4-23-07

WINNER: Shawn Michaels in 56:00. Wow. This will probably be the most-debated TV match of the year. Did they give away too much on free TV to where there's no point in paying money on Sunday for two additional wrestlers in the mix? Did they give us such a compelling TV match that it has you itching for another great wrestling match in six days? All I know is that this was a masterpiece on how to work a wrestling match. It wasn't a wrestling clinic in terms of how to pack as much excitement into nearly an hour. There were certainly a fair share of slow moments, but those slow moments were necessary to tell the story and build, build, build to the finish. WWE said these are our two work horses; these are the two guys to sell a PPV in six days. They delivered and we can all be thankful for a wrestling match that probably won't happen again on free TV for a long time. (****1/2)

RATINGS ANALYSIS: They helped themselves in the ratings department by not announcing a time limit before the match and by announcing early in the show that Orton-Edge was scheduled for tonight. That red herring of an additional match meant you couldn't take the "60-minute iron man match" approach and tune in around 55:00 to see what the score is. It was obvious from the outset that Cena-Michaels was paced to go a while, but WWE did a good job of not giving away how long it would last, which would have given viewers an option to tune out, then tune back in to catch the final few mintues.

WWE Superstar Super Crazy was injured during a tag team match at the Raw show this weekend.

"Super Crazy landed awkwardly and twisted his knee during a match," said Dr. Ferdinand Rios. "I agree with the trainer's original assessment that Super Crazy has a torn ligament in his left knee. We aren't sure if he tore his ACL or MCL so we have scheduled an MRI for later this week."

Well, the WWE's been very mum on the Randy Orton incident and what his 'punishment' is. He's still promoted as part of the 'Fatal Four Way' at Sunday's WWE Backlash PPV.

might be his last event :crying: or at the last minute they might have someone else come out who isn't really a contendor for the title at all but could fill in orton's gap. like ummm johnny nitro....or the great khali just to piss a lot of people off.

But, everyone knows he's going to do the job on Sunday. Then, most likely Orton will demoted into being a jobber.

TNA Impact! Results: 4-26-07

1 -- STING vs. KURT ANGLE -- #1 Contender's match

The lights were dimmed for the match. Sting grabbed a headlock to start, and Tenay and West instantly talked up the pounding Abyss took last week. Tenay said there's no medical update, but Abyss won't be on the show this week. Blood was still on the mat, so they apparently didn't have time to change the canvas the last seven days. Angle went for an anklelock in the opening minute, but Sting escaped and slipped to the outside. They brawled on the floor before spilling into the stands. Angle then whipped Sting into the base of the grandstands. Suddenly, Team Cage hit the ringside area and pounded away on Angle and Sting. The ref then called for the bell.

After the match, Steiner put Sting in the Steiner Recliner on the floor. Christian, Styles, and Tomko worked on Angle before Christian laid out Angle with a chair shot to the head. Christian then worked on Angle's back with repeated chair shots as Styles and Tomko held him in the corner. Christian then DDT'ed Angle into the seat of the chair. Sting then recovered on the floor and cleared the heels with a chair. He then chucked the chair out of the ring and just missed Christian. Sting then knelt over Angle, who was bleeding from the forehead. Chaos ensued as men scrambled to find medical help for Angle.

WINNER: No Contest in 3:00. You only get one chance to deliver the first Angle vs. Sting match. I don't see how reinforcing Team Cage as Jeff Jarrett's vision of the Four Horsemen is worth giving away Angle vs. Sting I with a three-minute No Contest.

[Commercial Break]

Back in the arena, they showed footage of Kurt Angle being stretchered out during the commercial break. Tenay said Don West has been called away to meet with Jim Cornette. They cut backstage where Jeremy Borash interviewed Christian Cage, who cut a promo with Steiner, Tomko, and Styles standing over his shoulder. Styles wanted to know about his title shot, but Christian blew him off. Christian addressed Sting, who he said he would beat at the Sacrifice PPV. He told Steiner and Tomko to bring the title belts back to Team Cage. Don West then interrupted and said the word from Cornette is that Christian will defend his NWA Title tonight against Sting, and if Team Cage interferes, Christian loses the strap. West then ran away so Steiner wouldn't squash the messenger.

2 -- SUICIDAL STAMPEDE -- #1 Contender match to X Division Title

Too many rules for this one. A bunch of random guys doing random stuff in the ring. At least it's not a reverse battle royale, though. X Division champion Chris Sabin is ringside. Petey Williams went for the Canadian Destroyer on Kaz in the opening minute, but Shelley spewed water on him. Senshi then hit a flying splash onto several of the aforesaid random men outside of the ring. Lethal took advantage of the confusion on the outside to hit a top rope elbow drop on Kaz for the win. Lethal celebrated with Dutt, who was upset with Lethal for stealing his pin. Apparently, Dutt and Lethal are in a three-way with Sabin at the PPV for the X Division Title. Kevin Nash made a quick cameo to figure out why Dutt was upset.

WINNER: Lethal in 3:00. By the time you figured out the rules, the match was over. Just a bunch of spots. (1/2*)

Borash then gave us an update on Kurt Angle's health. Neck trauma, which is a little too close to home. And that green flashing light has me traumatized. Borash interviewed Sting, who said all that matters with Christian Cage is what's on the inside, not on the outside. Sting said it will be showtime tonight.

[Commercial Break]

They showed a video package on Robert Roode treating Eric Young like crap for the last few months.

In the ring, Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks waited for Eric Young to show up and announce his friend. Young then came out looking crestfallen. He took the mic from Roode and said Roode has everything he could possibly want - power, money, and the girl. Young then said all he has is pro wrestling, which is what Roode is trying to take away from him. He said his friend has given him tremendous advice, but you have to fight your own battles sometimes. Young told Roode that he can fire him if he wants, but his word will never be broken. Roode told Young not to leave the ring, and he doesn't care about Young's pathetic past, but he cares about the friend. Roode grabbed Young by the throat, then slapped him across the face as Roode demanded to know who the friend is. Roode called him pathetic like all of the fans, then Young reared back and decked Roode with a right hand blow. He pounded on Roode in the corner, then Ms. Brooks grabbed him from behind. Young then snapped on Brooks with a powerbomb and went after Roode again. Brooks recovered, though, and landed a low blow from her knees. Roode then went to work on Young as Brooks sold a back injury. Roode picked up a chair and laid out Young with a chair shot to the head. Young bled from the forehead, then Roode handcuffed Young's hands behind his back. Brooks brought Young to his knees, then Roode gave Young three seconds to reveal the friend or he would scramble his brains.

Roode reached three, then Jeff Jarrett's music hit and Jarrett came to the ring with a guitar in hand He knocked down Roode, then gave him a back body drop to clear him to the outside. Brooks then went for a low blow from behind, but Jarrett blocked it and nailed her with a guitar shot to the head. The fans in the arena exploded, then Jarrett helped Young to his knees and checked on his blood-soaked forehead. Well, a few things here. Roode stepped it up a notch with his heel persona. Eric Young nailed a home run with his promo. Well-done segment with raw, real emotion. Of course, the big story at the end of the segment was Jeff Jarrett getting the rub from Young by saving him from certain cerebral dismemberment.

[Commercial Break]

Back in the arena, Konnan was on commentary with Homicide and Hernandez standing in the background. Tenay and West then recapped Jeff Jarrett showing up as Young's friend. West talked about the history between Jarrett and Young, dating back to when Jarrett sent Young on a Sting-hunting mission.

Backstage, Scott Steiner snapped on Jeremy Borash and Tomko that he doesn't follow in anyone's shadow. They needed a second (or third, fourth, or fifth) take on the promo, with Steiner stumbling throughout. Tomko just stood there and took Steiner's abuse. Steiner told Tomko to make sure he dots his t's and crosses his t's, then he stormed off. Tomko asked Borash if he heard that correctly, then called Steiner an idiot.

3 -- TEAM 3D (BROTHER RAY & BROTHER DEVON) vs. TOMKO & SCOTT STEINER

Konnan demanded to know when LAX would receive their tag title re-match. West added more fuel to the fire, which set off Konnan. Tomko caught Ray with a big boot to the face in the opening minute. Ray made a quick comeback with a full nelson slam on Steiner. They showed Hector Guerrero standing ringside to get a closer look at the action. Devon took a hot tag and knocked down the heels before giving Tomko a powerslam. The action then broke down and LAX tried to get involved, but mass confusion ensued in the ring. Tomko simply tossed aside Homicide, then 3D then hit a hanging neckbreaker on Tomko to score the pin. Afterward, Steiner & Tomko easily cleared Homicide & Hernandez from the ring. Konnan said their issue is now with Steiner & Tomko.

WINNERS: Team 3D in 4:00. Short, formula tag match. LAX's interference was useful to set up a three-way tag title match at Sacrifice, but the way it was presented cut the legs out from under LAX. (*)

[Commercial Break]

Eye Spy this week was Alex Shelley catching up with Mr. Backlund, who was walking around Orlando. Shelley took Backlund back to the time when Kevin Nash beat him for the WWF Title in nine seconds. Shelley said he could beat Backlund in nine seconds, then he said any of the younger wrestlers could beat Backlund in nine seconds. Shelley then sent Backlund on a penny-hunting mission, but Backlund discovered the X Division Title belt in the bushes. Chris Sabin suddenly popped out of a tree like a bad kung-fu movie and Backlund chased him around the grass. There's your X Champion, folks.

Backstage, Borash said doctors have stabilized Angle's neck, but there's a possible concussion. Christian Cage interrupted and said no one cares. He said Jim Cornette keeps trying to screw with him, but he doesn't need Team Cage to retain his title. Christian said he's the real deal and he will remain champion.

4 -- CHRISTIAN CAGE vs. STING -- NWA Title match

Sting came out first, then he jumped Christian in the entranceway to start the match. Sting took advantage of his heelish tactics and scored a nearfall in the opening ten seconds. He then shoved Christian off the top rope to the floor before they cut to a break.

[Commercial Break]

Back from the break, Christian stood on Sting's throat with his boot to choke the life out of the challenger. Christian then went up top and missed with a diving headbutt when Sting moved out of the way. Tenay plugged next week's matches, including Team 3D vs. Samoa Joe & Rhino. Sting then made his Superman comeback and press slammed Christian. He followed with a Scorpion Death drop, but it was good for a nearfall only. Kurt Angle then came to ringside and ripped off his neckbrace. He threw the referee aside and jumped Christian. The ref called for the bell, then Angle gave Christian an Olympic Slam. He picked up Sting's baseball bat and jabbed him in the gut, which the fans booed. West said Sting was taking out his frustrations on Angle for costing him the match.

WINNER: Christian via DQ in 8:00. TNA picked the wrong week to have two non-finishes in two big TV matches. Three days after WWE offered 55 minutes of amazing pro wrestling, TNA's booking doesn't hold up. Sure, TNA taped this show before Raw aired, so it's not a completely fair comparison, but they were caught with their pants down this week by throwing away Angle-Sting I and then booking an NWA Title match without any pre-show hype that ended in a No Contest. Rob Van Dam has turned down WWE's latest contract offer. His current contract is set to expire over the summer; possibly in late July, but it hasn't been confirmed. However, until the deal expires, there's always a chance that the two sides could come to an agreement.

The creative team has been instructed to focus their attention on CM Punk and Elijah Burke so that if RVD does indeed leave the company, it won't be too strong of a blow to the ECW storylines.

WWE Smackdown Results: 4-27-07

No turning back
By Lennie DiFino
April 27, 2007

LONDON – On the final stop of a successful European tour, World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker and Backlash opponent Batista were both dominant in a No Disqualification Tag Team Match, just days before their Last Man Standing Match this Sunday on pay-per-view. After disposing of Mr. Kennedy & Finlay, The Animal told The Phenom that as far as the title is concerned, “I’m taking it back.” The champion had a message of his own for Batista, telling him, “Sunday, I will take your soul.”

Earlier in the night, Mr. Kennedy & Finlay tried to once again dismantle The Animal, attacking him in the aisle as SmackDown began. Batista held his own until the two focused their assault on The Animal's wounded and taped right leg. Suddenly, the arena went black and Undertaker appeared in the center of the ring sending the dangerous duo of Mr. Money in the Bank and the Irishman back to the locker room.

Moments later, Kennedy & Finlay implored General Manager Theodore Long to put The Deadman and Batista in action against each other. Long showed his GM power by putting the Backlash opponents in action – but against Finlay & Kennedy.

In a brutally physical No DQ match, Finlay & Kennedy concentrated on the heavily bandaged right leg of The Animal – a leg beaten badly by the shillelagh last week. However, The Phenom delivered Chokeslams to both Mr. Kennedy & Finlay, and looked poised to get the win for his team, but Batista decided to make a statement of his own. He came into the ring, sent Finlay to the mat with a devastating Spinebuster, and then pinned him to get the victory.

After pushing the World Heavyweight Champion to the limits at WrestleMania 23, wounded or not, Batista will once more test the power of The Deadman this Sunday.

Another SmackDown Superstar in pursuit of gold at Backlash will be Montel Vontavious Porter, who faces Chris Benoit for the United States Championship, as first announced by WWE Mobile Alerts. In preparation for his match, the cocky Superstar had an open invitational to face some of the United Kingdom’s great champions.

First up was the Scottish Champion Hamlet Macbeth, a man who MVP claimed, “can shoot lightning bolts out of his arse.” Macbeth made his way out and was promptly flattened by MVP. When the second champion in the invitational was revealed as the Rabid Wolverine, the two competitors had an impromptu non-title match just 48 hours before their Backlash encounter.

MVP showed Benoit he was ready, countering the offensive arsenal of the Wolverine, finding his way out of the Crossface and the Sharpshooter. Porter then found his way out of the sold-out Earls Court, causing the count-out. Sunday at Backlash, MVP will have nowhere to run and will have to step up his game if he wants to walk away with the U.S. gold.

Englishmen William Regal & Dave Taylor returned to their home country in a tag team encounter with the most unlikely tag team in WWE history – Kane & Boogeyman. Alongside his worm-eating partner, the Big Red Monster settled the score with Regal & Taylor on SmackDown, perhaps birthing what could be a formidable - yet bizarre – duo on Friday nights.

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Brian Kendrick was in singles action against one-half of the new WWE Tag Team Champions – Deuce. Kendrick’s partner Paul London was unable to compete due to the injury he sustained last week, but Michael Cole pointed out that, “when London is 100 percent, he and Kendrick will certainly seek out the titles.” When Deuce’s girlfriend Cherry tried to distract the referee, London was attacked and incapacitated by Domino. Deuce took full advantage of the distractions to deliver a powerful kick to Kendrick’s face to get the victory.

The SmackDown Divas were also on hand in the United Kingdom Friday night. Jillian arrived in London intent to entertain WWE fans with her singing, and once again, the tone-deaf Diva was way off key. When her opponent Michelle McCool interrupted the serenade and came to the ring, Jillian sang a different tune, defeating McCool. Jillian then attempted to display her talent again, but McCool interrupted again, slamming Jillian into the steel steps and causing this rivalry to hit a crescendo.

Another Diva heating up Friday nights is Kristal, who shared her true feelings with General Manager Theodore Long. It's clear that Long and the SmackDown beauty are in love and are a very happy couple.

Matches
Kane & Boogeyman def. William Regal & Dave Taylor
WWE Tag Team Champion Deuce def. Brian Kendrick
MVP def. Hamlet Macbeth
United States Champion Chris Benoit def. MVP (Non-title, Count-out)
Jillian def. Michelle McCool
World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker & Batista def. Finlay & Mr. Kennedy

----Southern Tag Team Title Match: Ricky Morton/Kid Kash beat "Too Cool 2" [Flex/Tim Grind] for the titles.

----Hulk Hogan beat Paul Wight slamming him and dropping the leg on him. It was around a 10 minute match with the crowd so nuts for Hogan!!

NOTES: No official figure, but I am guessing close to 6000 fans with a gate close to $256,500…Jazz performed her own entrance music to the ring…Koko had Frankie and got Lance Russell to dance with him…NBA's Memphis Grizzlies Mascot - The Grizz came out and was shooting t-shirts out to everyone at intermission…Before the show started, it was announced that "Too Cool 2" [Flex/Tim Grind] had regained the Southern Tag Team Titles from The Moondogs [Cujo/Spike]. That was one of those phantom changes. They announced Grind/Flex vs Rock N Roll Express for later in the show, but it turned out to be Kash/Morton…After Bubba’s match they brought some kid from St. Jude down and Bubba had the kid on his shoulders. VH1 cameras captured that and it was a kewl moment for the kid and the crowd…I got to say "great job" to Corey Maclin and crew for putting the local guys - Flex/Grind in the semi-main event. All my bitching about them not featuring the local guys and they do go and do this -- perfect way to get them over being seen by so many fans. I would have loved have seen them win, but apparently they got plans for Morton/Kash and Flex/Grind down the road…I was told all in all a fun show and crowd loved it.

----Brian Tramel @ http://www.rasslinriotonline.com/ with much appreciated help from Randy Dailey. Thanks to everyone for joining me on the site for the match by match coverage. I will continue to cover this story as a possible new era in Memphis Wrestling starts next weekend as they scheduled to do tapings with their regular crew. They promised the crowd a special TV show tomorrow night, so it will probably have clips from the show. Congrats to Memphis Wrestling cast and crew for a recording breaking crowd and setting a new standard for indy wrestling.

Randy Orton tore apart a hotel room on WWE's latest tour of Europe and was sent home early. Now WWE management is trying to decide how to punish him and set an example to the locker room that just because he's a headliner, there will be ramifications for his actions.

A source tells PWTorch that consideration is being given to moving him to Smackdown or ECW (as Raw is perceived as the A-brand, and Orton has expressed a strong desire to remain on Raw) or leave him off of a few big PPVs (such as Summerslam) to cut into his PPV bonuses that help him surpass his downside guarantee each year).

Rob Van Dam negotiatons with WWE hit a road block, likely headed out

Article link: PWTorch

As reported in this week's Torch Newsletter, as of this week Rob Van Dam is planning to leave WWE when his contract expires at the end of August.

At the end of February earlier this year, he had stopped an auto-rollover of his contract that would have taken effect at the end of August. He wanted to negotiate for a lighter schedule, extended time off later this year, and perhaps a pay raise. WWE, as of the latest negotiations, has not offered RVD his desired amount of time off, so he is giving indications that he will choose to leave rather than accept their latest offer, a source close to RVD tells PWTorch.

It's considered likely he'll sign with TNA after he leaves WWE, which means WWE may begin to phase him out of ECW and use him to elevate others before he leaves.

There is still a chance WWE will meet RVD's expectations, but as of now, that appears unlikely.
