Do I smell a champion "plant"? It seems like they only did this to get the belt off of Umaga so he can take the ECW belt off of Lashley at the upcoming ppv.

Could be. Funny part about the 'radom guy' from the stands...he did some great wrestling moves against Umaga. Guess when you watch wrestling for so long, you can automatiically do the moves yourself :eek_2:

All random guys are built like that too. Muscles, tattoos, and all. Just the way it happens.

ECW on Sci-Fi Results: 4-17-07

Out of line
By Andrew Rote
April 17, 2007

MILAN, Italy– The first-ever ECW on Sci Fi broadcast from Italy started with a celebration as a beaming Elijah Burke and the New Breed announced the faction’s newest member, CM Punk. By the end of the night, however, the ECW Originals were the ones smiling.

After a main event that was hard-fought by both party’s leaders, Elijah Burke was left with a sour taste in his mouth, receiving a dose of his own medicine and getting pinned by Rob Van Dam.

RVD appeared to be in control toward the end of the match, but when the referee was on the wrong end of a collision with the ECW Original followed by an unintentional mouthful of Van Dam’s boot, all bets were off. CM Punk made good on his promise earlier that he would have Burke’s back. After rushing to ringside, Punk slid a chair into the ring at Burke’s request. Unfortunately for the New Breed’s leader, Van Dam managed to intercept the chair and use it to put Burke away for good.

Punk spoke with his new affiliates several times before the main event. The first encounter was in the center of the ring when he proclaimed himself as an official member of the New Breed, despite RVD vowing that Punk would regret his choice.

“That man made his decision and the future looks brighter than ever for ECW,” Burke boasted to the sold-out arena.

Throughout the night, as Burke watched his new recruit converse in the locker room area with Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von and Matt Striker, he wore a confused expression after each encounter. Punk insisted on bringing assistance and leadership to his allies, only to run into criticism from ECW’s self-proclaimed guiding light. Burke repeatedly instructed his new protégé to “fall in line” with the group.

Later, in the main event, Punk seemed to be completely misaligned with Burke. Regretting the apparent miscommunication on the first night as a New Breeder, the straightedge Superstar filled the remaining moments of ECW on Sci Fi with apologies.

Two of Punk’s other associates had a rough night as well. Thorn & Cor Von suffered a loss to Tommy Dreamer & Sandman. The match would prove to foreshadow the main event’s outcome as Thorn was also force-fed a spoon of his own blood. Dreamer rolled up the vampire enthusiast for a pin, using the rope for assistance outside of the referee’s line of sight – a page from the New Breed’s playbook.

ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley threw a celebration of his own on ECW on Sci Fi as he got the honor of introducing Santino Marella as the new Intercontinental Champion. Twenty-four hours earlier on Raw, Lashley took matters into his own hands and assisted the Italian WWE fan with a spear to Umaga. After shutting down the Samoan Bulldozer – much to Mr. McMahon’s dismay – Lashley placed Marella on top of the beast to claim the gold. On Tuesday, Marella thanked Lashley for his help, along with WWE and Italy. Lashley appears to be giving the Chairman his own helping of hell as the ECW World Champion’s 3-on-1 Handicap Match for the title against Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon and Umaga at Backlash approaches.

Also on ECW on Sci Fi, Snitsky emerged victorious in a battle with Italian-blooded Superstar Little Guido. Be sure to catch this match and the rest of the action on Hardcore Hangover.

Matches
Snitsky def. Little Guido
Tommy Dreamer & Sandman def. Kevin Thorn & Marcus Cor Von
Rob Van Dam def. Elijah Burke

This post from Rob's Damn Board says it all :

WWE Heat, I mean ECW was in Milan. CM Punk has defected to the New Breed of Future Smackdown Jobbers...Elijah Burke asked Punk why, and he didn't answer. It's very plain to see that Punk is just infiltrating the group. "He has his reasons for joining", but doesn't want to share with his teammates. Yeah, that makes sense. Other hints were dropped.

Dreamer/Sandman defeated the Vampire Dude and Monty Brown....ERRRRRRRRRRRR Marcus Cor Von in a tag match when Dreamer used the bottom rope for leverage on a sunset flip. Never saw that before, and probably never will. Vampire Dude's shoulders were off the mat, even Taz and Styles had to comment on it. You don't care either? Just checking.

Bobby Lashley, the ECW Champion of RAW, brought out the plant who won the bogus IC Title. Styles went on about what a prestigous title it is; I'm guessing WWE is getting a good amount of criticism over this latest belt change already. I can't imagine any other reason for Styles to tell us that a title has meaning. Shouldn't that be a given?

The IC Belt already has the plant, I mean random fan's name on the name plate. Boy, that was quick. WWE must have a engraver that travels with them across the world.

Styles made the absolute dumbest comment I EVAR heard on a broadcast (although I doubt it was his fault for making it, he was most likely reading from a sheet that was handed to him, Don West and Mike Tenay style).

He told the "backstory" of the new champ. Born in Italy, living in Canada...where he was training to be a wrestler. Yep! Vince pulled a random fan out of the audience last night on RAW, and wouldn't you know it? Dude was training to be a professional wrestler! What are the odds?

Really sad attempt at covering for the guy's skills in the ring last night. "He looked too good out there to be just a fan, I know, let's say that he's really a wrestler after all!"

Pathetic.

i sorta agree...but, Joe is great when it comes to where he came from: Independent Wrestling. right now in TNA, IMHO, Samoa Joe is very much mis-used.

TNA Impact! Results: 4-19-07

TNA Impact on Spike TV
April 19, 2007
Taped March 17 in Orlando, Florida
Report by James Caldwell, Torch columnist

We open with a recap of Jeff Jarrett returning to the show last week before Jarrett gave Sting the #1 Contender win in Lethal Lockdown.

Don West opened the show by breaking down the card before going inside the ring with Mike Tenay, who welcomed out Jeff Jarrett. West brought up Jarrett's family situation and said we should never question Jarrett, the man, for what he's gone through personally. Tenay said we saw a different Jarrett last week on Impact and on the PPV. Jarrett said that when he reflected back on his career, he determined that it's not all about Jeff Jarrett and it's time to give back. Applause from the crowd. He choked back tears as he talked about giving back. Jarrett said he has to make something right and everyone will be shocked. Before Jarrett had a chance to elaborate, Kurt Angle's music hit. Jarrett's brilliance in making himself look good through the booking: Jarrett is having a heartfelt moment with the audience, then Angle interrupts like a complete jerk. Angle took the mic and said he had his integrity questioned by the wrestlers and the fans by having Jarrett on his team. He said Jarrett handed Sting a title shot when he's the guy who hates him more than anyone else. Jarrett then said he feels he doesn't have to make things right with Angle. He said he did what he said he would do: help Team Angle win at Lockdown. Jarrett with the applause. Angle was booed.

Sting's music then hit and Jarrett bailed. (Jarrett laying low.) Sting addressed Angle and said he must have a problem with him since he's complaining about the finish of the Lockdown match. He said while he was off fighting Abyss, all he's heard from Angle is that he's the leader of the company. Sting said Jarrett and himself have been wrestling for a combined 40 years, while Angle's only at 10 wrestling. Sting said if it weren't for guys like him and Jarrett, Angle would be a gold medalist gym teacher. Oohs and aahs from the crowd. They cut to a later point in the interview with Sting challenging Angle to a match next week with his #1 Contender slot on the line. They hurt Angle with how this was presented, but it makes sense based on who's booking the show. Angle is a threat to Jarrett as a babyface. Angle's not a threat to Jarrett as a conflicted face/heel jerk.

Backstage, Team Cage had a good laugh at the expense of the pseudo babyfaces arguing amongst themselves. Christian Cage said he pulled a few strings and got an NWA Tag Title shot tonight. He then picked Abyss at his partner. Abyss went into his X-cross pose, which everyone in the interview made fun of. Styles asked if he had a chocolate hot dog stuck in his rear end. It was a long time coming for that, since people have mocked that goofy pose for months. Abyss then stood upright and looked around the room in embarrassment. Cage threatened Abyss that if he didn't get the job done tonight, he'd be in for bad things.

Christopher Daniels came to the ring sporting a Sting mask with a Sting baseball bat in hand. Styles and Joe then followed out.

[Commercial Break]

Rhino was in the ring to make this a four-way match to open the show.

1 -- CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. A.J. STYLES vs. SAMOA JOE vs. RHINO

Joe and Daniels started things off, with Joe dominating Daniels. Eventually, Daniels snuck across the ring and tagged in Rhino. Joe and Rhino toed it up, then Styles made a blind tag and danced around the ring. Rhino then let go of Joe and attacked Styles with clotheslines. Joe tagged in, then he dropped Styles with a stiff kick to the arm. He followed with a kick/slap combo before landing a running knee drop to the chest. Daniels made a tag, but Styles and Daniels couldn't get along working on Joe. The action broke down, then Joe flipped Styles over the top rope to the floor. In the ring, Rhino hip tossed Daniels across the ring, then went for the spear, but Daniels nailed him in the face with a Sting bat while the ref had his back to the action. Daniels then covered Rhino for the win.

After the match, Joe nailed Styles in the face to clear him to the outside. Daniels then backed up the entrance ramp holding his bat in the air in victory.

WINNER: Daniels in 4:00. This was a good example of knocking four potential money-drawing stars back to mid-card purgatory. Joe, Daniels, and Styles had the match of the year two years ago in a PPV main event, but now they're having four-minute throwaway matches on free TV with no build up.

[Commercial Break]

Backstage, Jeremy Borash tried to get a word with Kurt Angle, who grabbed the mic from Borash. Angle said Sting was spewing out b.s. in the opening segment. He said having only been in the business for eight years, that means he's still in his prime. Angle threatened to push Sting aside if he's not going to step aside. He said Sting's title opportunity will be gone next week.

Chris Harris came to the ring with Gail Kim for a match. Amazing to see how smart they've been about burying Chris Harris. Here's a guy who turned face out of the AMW split, has a good look, could be a main eventer based on size, yet they stuck a patch over his eye and have given Kim a more credible push. Harris = threat as a babyface to Jarrett. Do the math. On the way to the ring, the camera was focused squarely on Gail. They posed on the ring apron, with Harris pushed to the side of the camera shot. As Gail was posing on the ring apron, Jackie Moore attacked Gail. They brawled around the ring, then into the stands. Harris vs. Roode up next.

[Commercial Break]

Bobby Roode came to the ring with Ms. Brooks and Eric Young. Notice the difference between Roode and Harris's entrances. The camera is focused on Roode while the valet is behind Roode, not in front of him. Roode needs to look credible as a heel for his next feud.

2 -- CHRIS HARRIS (w/Gail Kim) vs. BOBBY ROODE (w/Ms. Brooks and Eric Young)

Roode jumped Harris from behind too start the match, then we saw James Storm drinking a beer on the entrance ramp to get a closer look at the action. Tenay said Harris vs. Storm has been signed for the May PPV in a Texas Death Match. Harris made a one-eyed comeback with hard clotheslines before catching Roode off the ropes with the catatonic. He had the pin, but Ms. Brooks pulled the ref out of the ring. The ref argued with Brooks and Young on the outside, which allowed Roode to grab some handcuffs and drop Harris in the face with the cuffs. He then made the cover for the win.

After the match, Roode snapped on Young and said he's sick and tired of Young embarrassing him on a regular basis. He asked Young if he's mad about him beating up his friend, Petey Williams, at Lockdown. Young smiled and said he's not the friend. Roode sarcastically asked whether Young has two friends now. He demanded to know who the person is. Young refused. Roode then gave Young seven days to come up with the name of the person or he would fire him on TV next week.

WINNER: Roode in 3:00. Harris loses. No surprise. He's a threat to Jarrett's babyface push. It's as if the Republicans and Democrats are racing against each other for the 2008 presidential candidacy and they're trying to bury each other in subtle ways, but Jarrett is emerging at the top of the heap thanks to having the unfair advantage of controlling how the media presents each candidate.

***SPOILER ALERT*** Don't read the rest of the paragraph if you don't want to know who "the friend" is, but it's worth noting how they set this up for next week. Young is one of the only legit babyfaces in the company because they've used the sympathy card and the audience loves him. When Jarrett comes in as "the friend", Jarrett gets the rub by saving the lovable, huggable, sympathetic babyface. Going back to when this all started, the storyline was about Bobby Roode trying to use Young to get fan affection, leading to him hiring Young. That was simply foreshadowing for when Jarrett would return to ride in on the white horse and get Young's babyface rub by associating with him. After all these other babyfaces have been knocked down with crappy storylines, Jarrett establishes himself as the noble and commendable babyface by laying low in a nice little mid-card program to show he's a team player. But then he'll automatically assume the top position at the babyface level in a few months when the time is right.

Backstage, Borash found James Mitchell berating Abyss in their dark corner. He told Abyss to get it right tonight or his old woman would be going to jail for murder, perjury, and obstruction of justice. Mitchell walked away, then Abyss screamed and threw his chain against the wall.

[Commercial Break]

Out of the break, we saw this week's Eye Spy segment. Alex Shelley was talking to Kevin Nash about how hot Black Machismo is, but he wanted to know why he wasn't teaming with "the black kid." Lethal was muttering in the background, doing his Machoisms. Nash then said he booked a three-way meant for Lethal to go over. Lethal liked the sound of that. Sonjay Dutt then entered the picture sporting Nash's old Diesel get up. He looked he missed the boat on a Village People reunion. Lethal mocked Dutt that he can step over the top rope now. Dutt then cut a believable promo that he's sick and tired of being fed crap from Nash. He told him to stick it, then he threw the Diesel jacket at Nash. Well, there's the missing passion from Dutt.

Ringside, LAX joined Tenay and West on commentary. Actually, Konnan was on commentary and Homicide and Hernandez assumed the position over Konnan's shoulder of being the menacing thugs. Tenay and West talked about Team 3D winning the NWA Tag Titles, then we saw a video package on the highpoints in the match. The beauty of video to make a horrible match look like a match for the ages.

Christian Cage, Abyss, and Mitchell came to the ring for the main event. Konnan finally had a chance to speak and said they were ripped off at the PPV. Team 3D then hit the ring holding the NWA Tag Title belts. Ray was smiling from ear-to-ear and Tenay said they completed the grand slam of tag title belts, which Konnan said is usually reserved for the grand slam breakfast at Denny's. Related back to the grand slam of tag title belts, for a company that says they don't want to compare themselves to WWE, they sure do put themselves in the same sentence with WWE every chance they get.

3 -- TEAM 3D (BROTHER RAY & BROTHER DEVON) vs. CHRISTIAN CAGE & ABYSS (w/James Mitchell) -- NWA Tag Title match

Devon dominated Christian Cage in the opening minute. 3D then double-teamed Christian with a sidewalk slam and guillotine leg drop. Christian escaped, then tagged out to Abyss. They cut to ringside where Hector Guerrero was watching the action. Konnan said he doesn't know whether Hector was paid off by TNA or if he attacked him at Lockdown on his own volition. Ray tagged in and slammed Abyss, then 3D gave Abyss a double-team pancake slam. Abyss finally made a comeback for the heels and tagged to Christian, who choked Devon with his boot. Good heat for the main event. The action broke down at 4:00, then Devon threw Abyss into Christian, who fell off the top rope to the floor. Abyss then stumbled backward into a 3D from Team 3D for the win.

WINNERS: Team 3D in 6:00. Good main event match based on the heat and back-and-forth action. Of note is that the heels were barely on offense here. Goes back to Lockdown when Christian entered the cage match at Lockdown and immediately took a pounding from Sting without having any offense. Don't worry, when it's time for Jarrett to get back in the title picture, they'll start to rebuild Christian, if he's still champion.

After the match, Mitchell was in Christian's ear about Abyss losing again. Team 3D quickly left the ring before Christian entered the ring and chewed out Abyss.

[Commercial Break]

Back from the break, Abyss was on his feet. Christian screamed at him, then Abyss grabbed him by the throat. The fans wanted Abyss to finally take out his anger on Christian, who then spit on Abyss. After looking to the crowd, Abyss punched Christian in the face while Mitchell stood stunned on the apron. Abyss threatened to give Christian the torture rack slam, but Mitchell stepped in and cut him off. The rest of Team Cage then hit the ring to make the save, but Abyss fought them all off. Mitchell was left alone in the ring, then he pulled out his cell phone and threatened to call the police, but Abyss slapped the phone away and gave Mitchell the Black Hole Slam. Big pop from the crowd.

Abyss didn't have much time to celebrate, though, as Team Cage jumped him again when he tried to introduce thumbtacks. They then beat him and beat him and beat him with chair shots. Styles even jumped in the air for his chair shot. Christian retrieved a barbed wire baseball bat, then took batting practice on Abyss's arms. They put him in the Conchairto position, with Abyss's neck lying on the barbed wire, then Christian gave him a chairshot to the back of the head. Konnan said it's gang mentality that teaches discipline. (The writers trying to re-create Horsemen-like factions here.) Team Cage stood tall in the ring with Abyss covered in blood from head to wrist. Raw, real heat in this segment. Abyss's babyface turn starts here, and it's comparable to Evolution turning on Randy Orton right after Orton won his first WWE Title, which set up Orton for a disastrous babyface turn. However, this one has a better starting point for Abyss, who can play the sympathy card with the audience in a more believable way, plus the fans were definitely clamoring for the face turn before he took the brutal beating.

WWE Smackdown Results: 4-20-07

Mayhem in Milan
By Lennie DiFino
April 20, 2007

MILAN, Italy - The 400th episode of SmackDown emanated for the very first time from il Bel Paese (the Beautiful Country), creating yet another memorable moment in the history of the program.

At Backlash in nine days, two men who will step into the ring looking to make their own history are World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker and Batista. The Phenom and The Animal will face off in a Last Man Standing Match for the title, and both were hoping to gain momentum heading into one of the most brutal matches in WWE.

Batista kicked off the show in action against Finlay, and as The Animal looked in full control, Mr. Kennedy interfered, causing the disqualification. Kennedy & Finlay then physically dismantled Batista with help from the shillelagh and a Celtic Cross from the Irishman.

Later in the night Mr. Money in the Bank Kennedy fought Undertaker in a non-title contest. Finlay returned the earlier favor of Kennedy, interfering and causing a disqualification. The dangerous duo of Kennedy & Finlay then dismantled Undertaker the same way they did to Batista.

As the 400th episode of SmackDown went off the air, Finlay & Kennedy stood tall, having made a huge statement by decimating both World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker and his Backlash opponent Batista.

Deuce & Domino arrived in Milan in style, making their grand entrance in a pink Cadillac. The men from the Other Side of the Tracks were intent to dethrone the near year-long reign of WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

The clashing styles were once again a factor as the fast-paced London & Kendrick wanted to high-fly their way to another victory over the powerful tandem of Deuce & Domino. When Paul London failed at an attempted Moonsault, he was left incapacitated on the outside of the ring – leaving Kendrick to defend the titles on his own.

Deuce & Domino took full advantage of the situation, breaking down Kendrick and defeating the courageous Superstar for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

World Tag Team Champions The Hardys teamed with United States Champion Chris Benoit to face Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero, Gregory Helms & MVP.

After MVP’s controversial upset of Benoit last week, the Rabid Wolverine looked to exact a measure of revenge on the cocky Superstar. Benoit & The Hardys picked up the victory when the United States Champion forced Gregory Helms to tap out to the Sharpshooter.

William Regal & Dave Taylor were in a Handicap Match against Kane. The duo of Regal & Taylor has had their share of problems over the past few weeks with the Big Red Monster. With Kane firmly in control, Regal & Taylor marched out of the ring, causing the countout.

The duo marched straight to General Manager Theodore Long’s office, and demanded to be kept far away from Kane. Long had other plans in mind and he made a match for next Friday in Regal’s home country of England – Regal & Taylor will take on the team of Kane & Boogeyman, much to the delight of SmackDown fans, and the disgust of William Regal & Dave Taylor.

After making that match, General Manager Long and SmackDown Diva Kristal shared a few words about shopping, and then they exchanged a passionate kiss.

Jillian arrived in Milan bragging about her attack on Ashley, and hoping to please WWE fans with her operetta-style singing. Instead, Jillian butchered yet another song, and Michelle McCool came to the ring to tell Jillian exactly what WWE fans and she thought about the tone-deaf Diva. “Quello è orrible,” Michelle first exclaimed and then translated, “that’s horrible.” Jillian tried to attack McCool too, but was thrown out of the ring by Michelle.

Matches
Batista def. Finlay (Disqualification)
World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker def. Mr. Kennedy (Disqualification)
World Tag Team Champions The Hardys & United States Champion Chris Benoit def. Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero, Gregory Helms & MVP
Kane def. William Regal & Dave Taylor in Handicap Match (Countout)
Deuce & Domino def. WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick - New WWE Tag Team Champions

His attitude backstage is probably which explains why he hasn't had a title run or a world title push in the 2 or 3 years.

RVD is still not in the good with WWE. He hasn't held any titles with WWE, he's stuck in the storyline with the New Breed VS. The ECW originals, he only held the ECW title for a month. He was stripped off the title because he got caught with weed. But, WWE is keeping RVD so, he don't go to TNA. Because, if RVD leaves he'll go to TNA.

But, since, Orton isn't as a big of a name as RVD. Then, it's possible they might let him go, because he has had problems in the past. Then, he'll go to TNA. Because he has threatened to go to TNA, before.

i think his dad needs to have a talkin to with him about how to fucking behave. because quite honestly orton is one of the best wrestlers on raw these days. and shit kenny is younger than him and doesn't fuck things up. so it's not an age issue, it's a too young, has too much money, and has prolly been spoiled his whole life thing. he is a bit of a princess it seems. but either way RVD is working his way back up, hell they let him win at wrestlemania, so he's moving back but slowly. i just hope orton doesn't get cut. i hate TNA and wont watch that shit if he goes over there.

That won't hapen because Cowboy Bob Orton passed away last year.

His father is still alive. It was Randy's grandfather, Bob Orton Sr. that passed away.

Thankyou for clearing that up because I was like,"NO FU(KIN' WAY!", in regards to Bob Orton passing away. We just saw him not too long ago with his son in the WWE.
Maybe Orton wants out and I really can't blame him. The WWE is a YAWNfest for the last couple of months and I hate their behind the scenes politicking.

WWE RAW Results: 4-23-07

A sign of things to come?
By Noah Starr
April 23, 2007

LONDON- In front of a capacity crowd at Earls Court, WWE Champion John Cena and Shawn Michaels clashed in an epic non-title battle that lasted almost an entire rotation of the enormous hand on Big Ben.

Squaring off for the first time since their tremendous match at WrestleMania 23, Cena and Michaels spent nearly an hour battling it out in the ring in one of the most impressive contests ever seen on Raw. Although other matches were scheduled for the night, including a contest pitting Edge against Randy Orton, the length of the main event left no room for other battles.

Spanning five commercial breaks, the incredible WrestleMania Rematch took WWE fans on a virtual rollercoaster of emotions. Multiple near falls, high-risk maneuvers and action both in and out of the ring made for one heck of a match. During the heart-stopping climax of the confrontation, Shawn Michaels muscled his way out of Cena’s FU, delivered some perfectly placed Sweet Chin Music (his second superkick of the match) and pinned the WWE Champion to pick up the win. On Sunday, John Cena will lay his WWE Championship on the line when he meets HBK, Edge and Randy Orton in a Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash; Will Michaels have what it takes to conquer Cena again?

As Raw began, Shane McMahon took to the ring ready for action. Earlier in the day, WWE.com reporters spotted Shane-O-Mac at Earls Court, but were unable to discover the reasons for his attendance. The younger McMahon announced that in honor of St. George’s Day (a holiday celebrated in the United Kingdom), one person would have the opportunity to slay a dragon – Shane himself! Shane then brought out his competition: a local wrestler from Liverpool, England named Robbie Brookside. After punishing Brookside in a No-Disqualification Match highlighted by Shane going Coast to Coast and wrapping a trash can around the British grappler’s face, Shane brought out Umaga and announced the match as a 2-on-1 Handicap contest. After Brookside was left sprawled out from more punishment at the hands of The Samoan Bulldozer, Shane announced the match would become a 3-on-1 Handicap Match including WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, who stepped into the ring and pinned the unfortunate Brookside.

Mr. McMahon is obviously still angry at ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley, whose win over Umaga at WrestleMania 23 led to the Chairman being shaved bald by Donald Trump. In less than a week, Lashley will face both McMahons & Umaga at Backlash with the ECW World Championship on the line. If Mr. McMahon can pin Lashley at Backlash, he will become the new ECW World Champion!

In other Raw action, Trevor Murdoch defeated Matt Hardy, one-half of the World Tag Team Champions. Last week on Raw, Murdoch’s partner Lance Cade defeated Matt’s brother, Jeff. The Hardys will put their World Tag Team Championships on the line against Cade & Murdoch at Backlash. Will they be able to conquer the powerful Superstars from down south?

Also on Raw, the beautiful Maria fell to Women’s Champion Melina. Will Melina’s win give her enough momentum to retain her gold against Mickie James at Backlash?

More miscommunication plagued the partnership of Ric Flair and Carlito. After Carlito suffered a loss at the enormous hands of The Great Khali, he vented his frustrations at Flair in Spanish, prompting the “Nature Boy” to walk away perplexed.

Matches
Shane McMahon, Umaga & Mr. McMahon def. Robbie Brookside (3-on-1 No-Disqualification Handicap Match)
Trevor Murdoch def. Matt Hardy
Women's Champion Melina def. Maria (non-title)
The Great Khali def. Carlito
Shawn Michaels def. WWE Champion John Cena (non-title)

I forsee another disaster...

Legendary Faction Returning To WWE?
04/23/2007 by Ryan Gray

Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter

With the strong success of the Degeneration X return last summer, an idea has surfaced of bringing back yet another legendary faction, The Four Horsemen.

The plan would be to have Arn Anderson return to the company and partner up with Ric Flair for one or two televised matches. The return would be used to help promote the new Four Horsemen DVD. Triple H is said to be the main person behind the reformation.

Arn is said to be positive about the idea, but due to legal liability reasons, the reformation will not happen unless he can obtain medical clearance.

I forsee the same thing happening to the Horsemen is what happened in WCW. Not lasting long and eventually disbanded and broken up. Vince is so clinged onto the past is that he's pulling whatever shit he can, just make quick and easy buck. Rather than make something new.
