My father just called me up to tell me he bought me a functional 1-slot Neo-Geo cab including 6 games for $210. Totally unexpectedly, and out of nowhere.

i have a cab in the garage that my dad is getting hella pissed off for me to have.
it's huge and it takes up an unbelievable amount of space.
it's so big you can't fit it through a normal door way.

Not bad!!

I waited until I bought my own place until I got my big red. Instead of parents, it was my wife that was worried about me scratching the walls.

1. FFS, I haven't even seen the thing yet. He just called to tell me he bought it (I don't live with him) and said that he'll e-mail me pictures.

2. He said something about "Samurai 1" (he's not much of a gamer, not good with titles either). I'm guessing that that means the game in there is a SamSho 1. He said that he didn't notice the other carts because he wasn't worried about what they were (again, not really a gamer, and besides I now have 2 cabs to put em in).

3. I'm still wondering how the hell you get an arcade game across the country. Last time I moved it came with the other stuff.

I'll post the pictures when I get them. This thing should nicely complement my Asteroids Franken-cab (I love that term as much as I love parentheses) as they appear to have the same shape and about the same size.

You can usually get shipping for close to or under $300.

Alright, got an email from him. He said his camera wasn't working right, but described it in detail.

there is no neo-geo game in the single neo-geo slot. i have five
origional neo-geo card boxes
1) the king of fighters 97
2) samurai shodown III
3) world heroes 2
4) magical drop 2
5) samurai shodown
all have additional materials in the boxes besides the cardz. i cannot
say if they are "complete". i viewed the box working with samurai
shodown iii.

i did not buy "turf" something. he said it was a golfing or football
playing game. if you want it i'll give him a call.
Neo Turf Master was never really fun in the Arcades. :P

i do not believe the box is original. it is uniformly pale or slate
blue, no decorations of any kind. the monitor is 18 or 19 inch
diagonal and appears original. it is japanese, KAGA/TSK or something.
the jama harness is totally intact, no snipped wires.

the light panel is a red background with white "neo-geo system snk" and
yellow "now playing" and on the right a window for the little insert
for each game. some of the boxes have this insert, maybe all. the
control panel is also red with some diagonal white stripes and another
white neo-geo system snk. on the front of the panel are two white
buttons. on the deck of the panel are two sets of red blue green and
black buttons and two short red vaguely egg-shaped joysticks.

down below there are two doors, one the coin drops and one the box to
collect coins. there are NO memory card slots i can find. there is a
set of decals "if you wish to priceyour neo-geo multi video system"
etc. which describes many ways to use coins.
:(
I was hoping to own a real MVS. Guess for $200 including games there's not much anyone could do about it.

brochures:
1) neo-geo systemn operation manual (2 copies).
2) neo-geo system uyniversal conversion kit installation manual
3) neo-geo service manual mv-1f

a sticker inside the box says "sega gremlin san diego california" and
"JG 19898", also a serial number, a part number, and "game pengo upr".
Sega conversion?

That is very nice of him. I remember when I got my two Candy cabs. My father gave me $1500.00 and said to go to LA and find them. When I got them home, we played Metal Slug together for like two hours.

That was a very happy day!

Holy crap, $1500 is more than I've gotten directly (not through food, house, etc) from my parents in a lifetime!

Personally, though, I don't like candy cabs at all. They look to... homeish. I like it to feel like I'm actually wasting my quarters on something, and for some reason a Candy Cab just seems like something that was never meant to be set off of free play. :(

...I have no idea why I just went on that mini-rant.

Magical Drop 2 made it all worth it.

After you master MD2, get a copy, any copy, of MD3 and witness the greatest puzzle games of all time.

Just know that there are people out there who are superior players. Namely me.
