Messiah's making their own "Neo Fami".

Messiah Debuts Generation NEX Console

Los Angeles, CA, USA –May 23, 2005 –Messiah Entertainment Inc. unveils a new 8-bit console for classic gaming. At only 1.5 inches tall, Generation NEX is Messiah’s slim and sexy micro version of the beloved Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Generation NEX revives the cherished classics of the past, redefining retro gaming as we know it.

Messiah brings next generation technology to classic gaming. Generation NEX is the first console featuring built-in 2.4 GHz wireless controller support. In addition to wireless gaming, the system has two controller ports for use with all your favorite original NES accessories including the four-player adapter and Zapper light gun.

For the first time ever experience your favorite classic games with rumble, delivering an all new experience. One six-button wired controller with slow motion and turbo functions comes as part of the Generation NEX package. Also included are stereo AV cables and a multi voltage AC adapter.

Not divided by region, Generation NEX incorporates two cartridge slots allowing NES and NeoFami™ game play. Both slots feature a direct connection between the cartridge and the system. No more power-light blinking and blowing on game cartridges.

Brad Strahle, Messiah’s President, considers the Generation NEX to be one of the most important retro products available. “With the release of Generation NEX, we want the core gamer to know that we have not forgotten our roots. Classic gaming is where it all began and with Generation NEX the classics will live on.” Strahle continued, “All gamers will love playing their favorite retro games on the Generation NEX and enjoy them with a new passion.”

Generation NEX will be released in September of 2005 with a suggested retail price of $59.99. Get your hands on Messiah’s Generation NEX console early at CGE 2k5 (Classic Gaming Expo) at the San Francisco Hyatt Regency on August 20th and 21st, 2005. I guess... Why does it come with a wired controller when the company pushes wireless? Plus it's a 6-button nes controller. WTF?

It would be great if they made the wireless transceivers like a wavebird's. The cable make it looks sorta ghetto.

What happened to the wireless neo stick?

Holy - - they released the info, I'd been sitting on my hands about this for days.

Yeah, its odd that they include a wired controlled when they're pushing wireless (and 6 buttons??!?!) , but I'm happy that there's an option to use both versions. I have to say, having ports for the NES and Fami is fucking choice. I'm gonna be all on it.

For those that may doubt the quality of their stuff, I've tested one of their wireless controllers and they're pretty damned cool. The rotating D-pad takes some adjustments (especially for certain games), but theyre cool. I'm just glad to see someone supporting teh old school.

For real. I mean what's there for NES/Famicom that uses 6 buttons? Unless you wanna stomp the controller to death playing World Class Track Meet.

No S-video :( I would have bought one sight unseen if they include this feature. As is, I am on the fence.

Hey, at least this model has something new going for it with the built in wireless. What's a real crime are the NES w/ new 72-pin connectors that sell for like $70 on eBay :kekeke:

I'm glad they touched up on the controller ports. The pins collapsed out of my Q-Boy Famiclone controller port 1 and now it's useless.

Looking at the system again, where are the two slots? Are both located in the opening on top (frankly, it looks too thin for that) or is that area where it says "Generation NEX" an opening, too?

Another option could be that it's super obvious and I'm a 'tard.

You make the call.

I see the two openings.
1. on top of the unit
2. on the front panel of the unit where the system logo/text is

dont give a shit about this system but i thought i might help you find the missing slot.

I am liking that system alot... it has a good look, can play both NES and Famicom games without an adapter, stereo out, standard NES controller ports. S-vid would be nice, but not really needed for NES. That is the best clone I have seen. I'll own one for sure once they are out. :D

I guess they are counting the Start and Select buttons as "buttons" in the count.

Since the unit plays famicom and nes games, why doesn't it have nes and famicom controller ports?

Nice. I just found some pics of the original famicom expansion port and thought that was the port on an av famicom... My bad.

With an optional wireless pad this setup looks rather expensive, but might just be the next best thing to a twin famicom.

I need to get one for my NES games & I'll also collect Famicom games too. :) :D

I want to play the Famicom version of Splatterhouse so that I can fight the pumpkin king & I also want to see the girls chest that burst open with the bugs coming out & when her chest heals up she yawns & walks away which I want to see because it sounds funny. :D

ps-NEX.jpg

I will buy this from someone on the forums if anyone has a couple of these. :D

How much will it cost & will my NES controller & my NES joystick work on the unit?. :)

[too many complaints about this pic of the girl getting her face smashed in -not good signature material]

It was supposed to be funny & it reminds me on the Garbage Pail Kids trading cards that I am collecting again. :tickled: :)

I didn't mean to offend anyone thought. :)

I have it on a couple on other forums that I go to & their are no complaints at all. :) :D

Sixty bucks, and yes, all your NES stuff is fully functional. Set for a Sept. release.

To get it early, better give 60 bucks to someone you know that's going to the CGE and have them get it for you.
