AES Problem...

I finally purchased my AES 2 weeks ago, after oogling at the system since I was 10. It worked fine and i was having so much fun playing SS2, but now all my games are looking like the pics on the bottem. I have cleaned all my Carts and the Pin connectors on the system itself with my old nes cleaning kit but I still have the messed up sprites.

Can anyone help me on this one?

It certainly could be a pin connector problem . I had a similar problem and this is what I recommend :

Firstly make sure that none of your connector pins are bent or broken .

Open your Neo and remove the top half of the plastic casing . Insert a game , power up , then press your reset button and keep it pressed down . Then gently tilt the top of the game away from you as far as it will go and release the reset button . Keep repeating this for varying degrees of tilt (both towards you and away from you ). Sometimes the pin connectors can become disturbed and thus make poor contact . Inserting the game at slightly different angles can make a difference. I did this with my faulty Neo and the full picture suddenly appeared when the game was tilted back as far as it would go (with the casing off you can tilt it a lot further ).

If that fails , you can try removing the bottom casing (you need to remove quite a few screws to do this) , and check the underside (solder side) of the pcb...there are a lot of solder points for the connector pins and sometimes these need re soldering .

While you're looking at the pcb , check that nothing looks burnt or any tracers look broken . Also clean any dirt or dust off the pcb .

Hopefully this helps...let me know the results .

Dont know much about AES, but from your piccy it looks like the cart socket contacts need cleaning, dismantle and gently scrub with a soft toothbrush using cleaning fluid such as iso alch.
Have a look at Briggs site (realise this is aes but the same applies)

Heh, your last pic showed the right life bar reading, "GeoKuso" (Geo Shit in Japanese). How appropriate. :o

Try another PSU. It can be your PSU that's fucking up the display.

i think it might be the cart slots since you have cleaned ss2 and tried a different game also.try cleaning the actual cart slot on the neo itself.

Have you already tried another PSU ?

Also give an eye to the slots of the console.
