I want to have sex with it.

I know what you mean, but I wanted it where it made sense, on the frontKenny Boy said:Constructive criticism:
• The red select button up front kills the sleekness of the unit's front edge; lose it.
Well, they're soldered to the back end so it still works with a JAMMA harness, but yeah, next one will be soldered back to other components like Scott said.Kenny Boy said:• Soldering wires to the actual JAMMA pins is a no-no; may affect the unit's ability to be hooked up in a cabinet for dual functionality, not to mention looks a little messy. (already mentioned)
? Can't be seen by most angles, but yeah, it's not the best location. Guess I can't charge $700 for it thenKenny Boy said:• The wire running along the backside of the shell (on the inside of the rear cartridge slot) again, takes the "polish" off of the machine.

Thanks man.Kenny Boy said:Otherwise, nice work D.

*Many* people? And I do keep that functionality intact here.Kenny Boy said:D-Lite said:Who in their right mind buys a consolized unit and then puts it in a cab ?
Many people want the ability to do so. Do not assume this scenario that consolized MVS units will never be inside a cabinent.
I wasn't saying your reserve was $699 on that. But I'm really curious how much people are charging as I asked way up there in the posts. I charge $400 shipped for a consolized 1FZ with Unibios 2.0 and joystick and the JROK. I'm thinking that $500 is a good price on the 2-slot even with component video on board. I know they used to sell around $500 with a JROK and the regular bios back in the day, so maybe a bit more on this. How about sharing your pricing at least?Kenny Boy said:D-Lite said:Can't be seen by most angles, but yeah, it's not the best location. Guess I can't charge $700 for it then
My "crazy" pricing is a total misconception. The one that sold ebay on ebay for $699 included 2 games, a joystick and the upgraded Uni-Bios. You people seem to forget that I bundle extra stuff with my units at times.

FatGuy said:Good job on the paint . Most of these painted consolized look like my ass since the paint always looks wavy like it was painted with Ace hardware brand spray paint. Did you wet sand it? Looks nice. As for the soldering it looks like my ass but thats been stated more than once (I like to state the obvious).

you forgot LEDs = 149.99 for an ebay price of 699.99D-Lite said:Folks, here's a price breakdown on what goes into a 2-slot:
$175 2-slot (at a high price)
$30 Jameco PSU and cable
$115 NeoBitz board
$5 3 hex RCA mounts
$5 Component mounts
$4 S-Video mount
$25 Unibios 2.0
$4 DPDT power switch
$3 5-pin DIN for power
$1 momentary push button for game switch
$5 good paint
$362 total
$20 shipping
$392 total
Labor is about 4-5 hours depending on ..... lots
I'd say that $550 shipped for a fully modded 2-slot is well worth it for the modder and considering the time, equipment, and risk, also well-worth it for the buyer.
D-Lite said:Kenny, one thing I'd like to say here, is that despite your claims to be willing to share info you've gotten less and less willing. You used to be willing like a year ago when I asked for simple part numbers, but the last couple times I asked (before I made even one unit), you gave me the "well, you can get it from Mouser, but I can't remember the part number". That's like trying to find a needle in the haystack. And now you won't even show a pic of the component mod you do. A picture for christ's sake. The business end has gotten to you. This is a community.
Kenny Boy said:I've always been, & continue to be, open with sharing info. I help out as much as I can. Concerning Mouser, I was serious. That website (along with digikey) is a mess. I had to call them on the phone in order to locate the correct parts. Since they were ordered offline, I did not get a receipt in my email box, which renders me helpless. If I remember correctly, I sent you part #s for Parts Express, since I was able to locate them online.

D-Lite said:Come on, you mean you ordered it once and don't plan to make it easier next time by writing down the number?
D-Lite said:And I believe I did say you used to share info which was like a year ago when I asked for the first Parts Express numbers. But since then I asked what the number on the red/white hex pair was and you didn't respond to that.
D-Lite said:Now that being said, I can understand the reluctance to share info on hard to track down parts. But as omnedon can tell you, I do still share what I have in general.
Parts Express # 091-1204 $2.95 for pairJHendrix said:Not a bad breakdown, mine is similar.
Question, where did you order the composite/stereo hex mounts from? I haven't found a real nice place that offers connectors that have nice easy mounts on em.
From Raz. Unless you can burn your own, Raz frowns on buying from someone else.JHendrix said:Also who are you ordering your UniBios from? Raz or do you know someone reputable in the states who can burn the EEPROM and ship it cheaper?
Yes. e-mail him (better than PM)JHendrix said:And is Jeff's board for public sale yet? I went to Neobitz.com and it looks like it's still pre-order only.
Add like $40 for a controller. So about $590 shipped for the component 2-slot set-up. (the $550 was for the component version)JHendrix said:Oh yeah, do you guys normally throw a controller and/or memory card in with it too? Doesn't look like that factored into your price breakdown. Figure a decent old style stick can go for like $50 and a memory card for $30 and the final price is up in the $600+ range and probably higher for a component board.
That takes some effort to get a good price down.JHendrix said:Sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm really trying to get things planned down price wise before I order all my parts. I want to make sure that I don't over or under charge.

I have to get the uni-bios 2.0 soon.

You keep your eyes open and you can find themJHendrix said:![]()
I would love to know how you got your hands on a controller for that much. The ones in Japan can be had for lower prices but you still have to cover shipping costs, which normally bring it to at least $50. Not questioning your price of $40, but I've had trouble finding one for that amount.

I can include cables, but that too is best left up to the buyer. You can spend $10 for crappy cables or easily $80 for a nice set of Monster cables or better.JHendrix said:Oh yeah do you include cables too or do you leave that up to the buyer?
Funny thing is it's usually not the technical stuff that people can't figure out. It's the putting together type questions. Still the number one question is how do you make nice DB-15 ports?JHendrix said:Yar it does. I'd like to say thanks for all the help, it really is much appreciated. It's funny I'm asking all these questions on modded boards and yet none of them are technical. Almost sad actually. Again, thanks for all the help.
