And they do. Nobody cares about when people survive, they want to know how many died and how gruesome it was. Don't ask me, just watch the evening news or read the newspaper.

Well look if a contest like this was based on a fictional event then I don't think anyone would have brought it up in the first place, since it would be placing bets on entertainment not on the real life massacre of 330 children.

Yes, people want to know the details (including body count) when a tragedy happens, but I seriously doubt that most are cheering for the highest possible body count possible, or betting on it.
