That is a sweet looking stick. :drool_2:

The CPS-2 board is one of the next systems I'm planning on picking up, and this would certainly be a prize.
Any other people or places known to have one?

I don't know if I'd want the CPS Changer or the controller more!

A good support but I still can't deal with the suicide battery problem.

I know this isn't the place, so I'm dropping the discussion on CPS-2 after this, but I know I'm fairly ignorant on the board so I wanted to ask.
Of course, before buying anything, I would research it thoroughly but I was wondering: If the games are played often, don't they stay alive and recharged? Meaning, as long as the game works when I get it and I play them often, they'll keep working?
Ok, I'm off, and thanks. :)

The stickers with that joystick are fucking rad.
Too bad the stick itself is kinda weak...cool to look at though.

I've been after a CPS changer for years. The games are not affected by suicide batteries, but I beleive there to be less than 10 of them, with SF Zero being the last. The SFC Capcom Power Stick Fighter looks good but that 's it. The Infra-red adaptor is a good idea though.

The joysticks are compatible with the Super Famicom. I've seen them for sale twice now, although I don't know if they always come with the stickers too_short has in his pic.

I haven't come across a CPSC or any of the games though. I'm really tempted to pick one up if I ever do.

Also, I do believe that the CPSC games are just regular CPS2 games without the suicide battery, and with a grey plastic casing instead of the usual CPS2 colours.

Big Bruno is the one who told me all about them, if he sees this thread hopefully he will be able to shed some more light on the subject.

They are way too hard to find and way too expensive for what they are...BTW, that Joystick is available for the SNES and Genesis too. I used to have one. They're kind of weak though, flimsy and cheap feeling.

The joystick is compatible with the CPS changer, SNES, & NES.
Oh and the quality is just about as good as the old style neo joystick.

I don't know much about the CPS changer, but grey CPS2 boards = asian market

Blue = US
Green = Japan
Grey = Asia
Orange = Rental carts (I've only seen one of these on ebay, don't know the full story behind them.

As for the CPS2 suicide issue, yea it is a bitch, but can be dealt with. If you're decent and trust yourself with a soldering iron, you can change the battery yourself. Or you can get an IC extractor, remove the program romz, and send them to Razoola and he'll fix them to work without the battery for a small charge.

Of course I've been too lazy to do either, and now I'm thinking of getting rid of a few cps2 games.

The grey plastic casings were originally made for CPS1 Q-sound games. Here's my Warriors of Fate and Slam Masters PCBs for example (paid about 30 bucks each on ebay):

These beasts are huge (and heavy!), even bigger than a Neo system:

Anyway the CPS Changer was just a way to move some of Capcom arcade old stock. And the unit itself is nothing but a supergun which could be used to play other arcade boards and therefore it's technically incorrect to compare it to the Neo Geo home system. It's even badly designed in that it doesn't take advantage of the stereo Q-sound many of its games are capable of...meh

Regardless, I'd still love to someday own one. If nothing else, for the clean design and ability to use as a standard SuperGun.

The Joystick came out in chrismas of 93 in the US market. It was sold at Toys' R US and babbage's stores only. It had a retail price of $75.00 which was unheard of for a controller in 93, and didn't sell well. The frist version was the SNES version which came in a black box that had art work from Street Fighter 2 Turbo on it, and came with 2 detachable cords one had a SNES plug and one had a NES plug. The second version was sold at babbage's stores only "which I never got around to buying" was released in spring of 94 which was the white genesis version for SF2CE and came in a white box with a detachable cord with a genesis plug on it. But Capcom only made limited number of both stick so these never made it to the clearance rack of any store.

Also in spring of 94 capcom release the CPS changer, which you could order through a 1-800 in the US. The CPS changer had SNES plugs for the controllers and stick was the same exact one made for the SNES, and EGM mag use to use the CPS changer to review JAMMA type Arcade boards.

You sure about that? I used to have those sticks, but I gave them away a long time ago because I was frustrated w/ the quality. Too light and unstable for heated play.

I've wanted one for quite some time, but I probably won't ever get one unless I have money to burn . . . literally

Yeah. Althought I don't use either of those for my gaming.
I use massystems joysticks, now those are nice sticks, one of my babies:

that's the problem with ALL console arcade sticks, too light, all plastic parts, if there's an exception to the rule let me now, but even when I had my AES the old style sticks were so light they slipped around too much i ended up using teh neo cd pad, nothing beats custom sticks in wooden cases, I use MAS Systems sticks myself.

Haha, I remember buying my Capcom Fighting Stick at Babbages. I had no idea that it was even sought after. I still have both the Nes/Snes cables, but wish I still had the box...
