How hard do you think this would be to play if you don't speak Japanese?
It's no problem: The games have always been in english (save for the text in SH1).Quote:

I'm going to have to wait for the US version to get released, is the Japanese version going to have any extras?
This will be a good one. I'm looking forward to it too. Still haven't beaten 3 yet (very close tho)
Could the designers have been thinking of the players when they focused the game to be trapped in your room? :mr_t:
The limited edition will have a special double-disc set of the soundtrack, and unreleased music. I don't know if the US version will be edited, but for your sake I hope not!Quote:

I can't handle these 3D survival horror games anymore. I can handle horror flicks but when it comes to survival horror games...all of a sudden I'm as squeamish as a kindergartner. :(
My friend Verbatum, you'll have to showcase Project Zero for me one of these days, I just can't take it. Or maybe let me "sit in" when you get SH 4? :crying:
I'd like to sit in as well...Although that would probably ruin the creepy aloneness.
Maybe I'll go though with you guys after I've beaten it!Quote:

Have fun man!!
Although I wish I could play a little early, I prefer to support games in the US when I know they are comming over. Konami is one of the fw companies that lets you know when its smaller titles (read: Gradius V) are comming to the US instead of you sitting around with your thumb up your but. I like that and support it :)
Only 3 days left!!!
I cant wait till this game comes out. Iam looking forward to playing it. :)
Something cool I just found out: The main character (Henry) is who is trapped in his apartment lives in APT #302. Guess what APT I live in?
#302!!!!! :D
Have you tried to leave in the last few days? Or have any mysterious portals appeared in your room lately?Quote:

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Looks like I'll be getting it on Saturday!!!! Oh well, I can live with that. Looks like they released the LTD ED a bit later than the regular. Oh well, I'll just be sitting here in room #302.
Maybe I should...try to leave........
You've gotta let us know (spoiler-free) how this game turns out.
I shall!!Quote:

So Verbatum, how about those first impressions? :)
Yeah I would love to hear them too. How is the game? Does it feel like the original first Silent Hill?
I'm feeling psyched too. Beat 3 last night for the first time, and started 2 again.
I'll wait for domestick release.
So the text and the in game options are all in english? What about
books or text you pick up in the game? I'm curious because if I can
read it (english) I will be picking this up :)
Later

I love them all, my favorite series of this type...
Silent Hill is FANTASTIC!
I can't wait for my copy to arrive.
Ok folks! Here are some answers for you:
1. Yes, Everything can be put in English.
2. THe Game has a very unique feel compared to the others. It has it's own emotional state and ambiance, yet it's still familier. They are also using a new control engine, making it much smoother to navigate. Also, you can't "Pause" the game and accsess your inventory. You have to do it in real time. Yamaoka said he wanted to do this so that you are never "Taken out of the game". You can pause the game, but not "Stop to switch". You use the D-pad to navigate through your items: very easy to do. There is also a health meter and attack gauge that appers when in battle. You can actually "charge" your attacks this time. It's nice to start holding the button while walking toward and enemy, and then let loose. THe meters go away after battle, or letting loose of the buttons.
3. No, it does not feel like SH1. Again, it has it's own feel to it, especially since the apartment scenes are in first person. It really makes you feel like it's "Your home"
(especially for me, living in room 302!). Also, many of the enemies are actually floating spirits of the deaf instead of creatures (which there are of course)! THe look like bodies being dragged by soem invivible force, and many of then actually push themselves out of the walls!
4. A nice extra: The LTD version not only comes with the double disc soundtrack, but a mini CD of ancient Japanese Ghost stories set to Akira Yamaoka's music (also in the Soundtrack CD set).
5. The Graphics are wondeful, and really help to absorb you in the world before you. This of couse, is typical of the Silent Hill games. The music and SFX are fantastic as well! Very, very emotional.
I'll say some more later after I've played more tonight if you wish, but I don't want to spoil all this goodness for you!!! :D
indeed those floating bodys are creepy. freaked me out when they came out!
wonder why his head hurts when they aproach.
How are the load times in it? I remember SH3 having some long ones, especially when you first turned it on.
The LTD version is basically the regular version + the soundtrack right?Quote:
