Hey, if Rehhagel refuses to become national team coach, why not sending him an invitation to Scotland, what worked for the Greece should work for your team too! :)
I think Bertie Vogts is using up all good will towards German coaches here just now. I don't know what our problem is, I think it's the young talent being bought from the small clubs by Rangers and Celtic and then sitting in the reserves till their twenty five and sold on.Quote:

So it could be spitting to others or complaining about wrong decisions, they consider that normal!
Before the whole Euro-2004-thing started they were clearly more interested in making money with sponsors (Totti with Pepsi, DelPiero with mineral water, Vieri with cell-phone companies), being into TV-shows (Who Wants to be a Millionaire) and internal rivalries (DelPiero was totally jealous of Totti and he claimed "I'm a leader, I'm still the best")
That idiot of the coach made the team chosing just the famous ones because of the sponsors, leaving the really best guys at home exept Cassano (2 goals out of the 3 of the Euro).
We have the best under-21 team in Europe and some old phenomenon still playing like Baggio. Why he refused to be in the national team? Because of the poor quality, because the age 26-30 is the worst for most of the soccer players out there, at least out here. And this Italy was made by them!
Young guys want to be the best, to get into the all of fame because they still dream!
When you are 26-27 you've already made the BIG money and sponsor are wasting all the good of you, so why put yourself into the game? That's what Italy was; you can't put your hopes in Totti, he's old!
Thank God he spitted Poulsen, or Cassano would have never played and Vieri-DelPiero would have hardly fired from the national team!
The worst to them! Up the new talents! Long live to Martial Arts!
Portugal-England best match 'till now!
guess I was right when I said Porugal would win against England when the draw camw up, I was wrong about the Figo screamer, it was Rui Costa who did it instead and the penalty when James was chipped and then Roicardo saving and then taking that brill penalty. James guessed the right way but Ricardo was to goodQuote:

I didn't realise he was still at Milan, I remember him going there from Fiorentina a few seasons back, but had assumed he had moved on into obscurity as he has hardly featured this season. Much like Postiga in fact.Quote:

Holland ...... hopefully.
Well, the better team probably won. But I'd have rather seen the Swedes go through.
Sweden V Holland ...
I think we have seen 2 matches tonight.
I mean, the first 90 Minutes were lame and absolutely tedious since both teams were afraid of each other.
The remaining 30 Min of extra time were spectacular with both teams trying by all means to avoid the lottery of the PK.
Holland was lucky on the extra time, but they finally broke the spell.
The drama being eliminated by the PK is now gone for Holland ( at least untill the next match... who knows ! ). :smirk:
I'm not too confident our semi-final against the dutch. They sure have some players playing under their best form, but they have two faces. Or they play like today, or they play extremely well.
haha. that reminds me of their 98 world cup match against Brazil, which ended up with Cucu wasting the last shot. it was the quarter finals I think, and it was the best match I've seen ever. no one would have stopped them from grasping the cup in the tournament if they had won that match.Quote:

Who do you think will win tonight?
My bet are the Chechz, they've been playing so well this tournament.
Yep !Quote:

Obviously I want Portugal to head to the final ( won't be easy ) and play against Greece. It has to be a revenge :)
If not, I'm for Holland all the way.
Predictions for the semi finals? I think the Czechs will overcome Greece. They have certainly played the best football this tournamant, and Nedved has proved he is the best player in Europe this tournament. Who would have predicted Baros to be the leading scorer in the tournament so far? He hasn't had the best season at Liverpool. Maybe he will form a new partnership with Owen there next season under Benitez.
Holland vs Portugal is the most difficult. Holland seemed to have put the infighting behind tham and are looking great, but Portugal have home advantage and outclassed England in the quarter final.
I hope Holland wins the EK.Quote:

Ok, judging from the matches so far, chances are that the Czechs will win vs. Greece, but it's difficult to predict Holland - Portugal... yes, the Portoguese team have played a straight style so far and ride the wave of national support, but Holland has more experience and the better players so my bets are on Holland.
heh, the next few days will be shit-your-pants dramatic...! :)

Bear in mind that at least five out of eleven players on the portuguese squad are European Champions. It's a core that is used to play together in the Porto team and they have shown the best results this last two seasons by winning a UEFA cup and a Champions League cup.
The majority of the Dutch players are from Barcelona and Ajax. Both clubs didn't got the results they were expecting this season and by your theory they have the "better players and more experience".
However, I'm not so sure if we'll be able to beat them. The crowd means nothing for players who are used to play in very "hostile" atmosphere matches.
Remember that Holland played the last Eurocup at home and they were knocked out by the italians also in the semi's ( by PK ).
It will be a had match for me. Holland always was one of my euro teams of choice, but I love Portugal.
I'll be cheering for our luso brothers, but if Holland win I'll not be sad at all :glee:
I hear you, man.Quote:

Also, the circulation of foreign players in the Dutch league teams is bigger and faster, and that's a very important point nowadays.
Maybe my rating of the "better players" is a bit off but I know what these guys (the Dutch) are able to do if they're on fire.
Thing is tho that Portugal have shown a more "compact" football than the Dutch, there's a certain insecurity in the Dutch team which may be the weak spot for the Portuguese to attack... about the "home crowd" thing, I do think that this will help them a lot, it definitely is something special to play in your own country, in front of your ppl, specially if your team is successful and the crowd expects them to win.
IMO, of course! :)

Twice.
I can't believe it, 2 times in 1 tournament...
I'm speechless....
Wow...
Congrats to Portugal, clearly a well deserved win, Maniche's goal was awesome!
Hey, they're in the finals now.
Maybe it will be... ...Portugal - Czech Republic?
Atro, nothing personal.
But I hope the Chechz beat the shit out of Portugal.
And I hope someone kicks that referee.

Sorry dude, but all you can complain about is the fouls that the referee haven't conceeded to Deco as he was severely punished by ALL dutch defenders.

Haha, true true. But the Chechz are playing so well, so I doubt they would win. Everybody was kinda surprised when they beat France, but they weren't playing well all the tournament.Quote:

Sure, we played fucked up in the first half, i'm not saying it's not because of the team's playing.
But the referee sure as hell did help Portugal.
You know, I feel that very funny.Quote:

And if you're so sure, spot on the big deal the ref caused for Holland to go home.
There isn't anything big.
I didn't wanted to go this way, but the final score could have been MUCH larger. Pauleta is an ass ( missing too many goals ).
Besides the volley kick Overmars did in the first half, Holland didn't hurt our defense too much.
And come on ! Please don't tell this match was "luck", coz even Holland goal was luck for your side with J.Andrade own goal.
Dude, read my posts again.Quote:

I never said that The Netherlands where playing better then Portugal, maybe the last few minutes. You are right about Portugal, we where lucky with the 1-0 against us in half-time. What i'm talking about are little things, little fouls, that are part of football. Look at the statistics, Robben and the guy he played against (excuse my ignorance, but I don't remember his name) According to the statistics, Robben made 12(!) fouls on the guy and he made 0(!) fouls on Robben. That's a example, isn't it?
Another example, Van Nistelrooy yellow card.
... The referee didn't even see it... :oh_no:
Judging by your words, Miguel ( Right back ) has completely stopped Robben in every attack he did. If I remember correctly, only Davids has dribled him in the whole match.
Robben is indeed a superb player ( I still prefer Van der Vaart tho ) , but tonight he had a tough defender over him. Robben was more concerned doing fake fouls than to play football. Substituing him was a devent move ( perhaps the only decent thing Dick Advocaat did in the whole match ).
Oh thank you !!!Quote:

Would have been a direct RED card.
:p :glee:
You are right about that. But look, 0 fouls given to a defender, that's simply impossible. He did make those schwalbes, he should learn how to do them correctly the next EK/WK:DQuote:

Ah well, Portugal won, good luck in the finals.
[Edit] If you are talking about the yellow card.. then you should watch the replays.
Or maybe I should.
I suggest you ( if you can ) to watch the match again.Quote:
