pistons in 7 :buttrock:
Pistons in 7 is the dream basketball fan in me talking.
Realistically, Lakers in 6.
If they're totally focus... Lakers in 5.
It'll be a better Final though, than what I think the average fan is thinking. Lakers win in the end though. Their offensive firepower is just far too overwhelming.
Rip, Wallace and Billups needs to come up HUGE offensively.
And there could be an Elden Campbell sighting (for Hack-A-Shaq purposes)
1) Shaq is going to eat "Big Ben" and "Sheed" for breakfast lunch and dinner.
2) Malone is going to knock some people out.
3) Payton is going to get schooled by Billups and complain about how he USED to be an all-star type player.
4) Kobe is going to try and "Be Like Mike"
5) The other Lakers are going to watch Kobe and Shaq score 99.9999% of the teams points.
...and then the Lakers will win in 5.
The only way Detriot will win is if they get more guys than just Hamilton scoring. Amazing defense means very little to the Lakers. This isn't the NFL. You can't stop some of those guys no matter what. I don't care what anyone says: any great NBA team needs a lot of scoring threats to go all the way. Besides, the more offense you have, the harder you are to defend! The Pistons haven't shown that they can do it. They have shown that they can stop teams from getting a fast break going. (Which is why they beat the Nets) and Indiana was hampered by injuries to O'Neal and Tinsley and a few bad performances all across the board. Neither series win was all that impressive.
MY PREDICTION is Pistons in 4. Because they'll get the scoring going. :smirk: :tickled:
The Lakers will win it...
With that said...I CAN'T STAND TEH LAKERS!!! :very_ang:
I hope to GOD Detroit rips them a new one :buttrock:
Lakers in 4. Lakers *WILL* sweep...guaranteed!! :buttrock:
Lakers will pwn. I don't want them to, cuz they bore the $hyte out of me, but that's what's gonna happen - probably in less than 5.
I don't care
Kill Kobe now and set an example for the rest of the fucking morons who thing they are above the law.
Do you know something the rest of us don't know? Kobe must be guilty because he's famous, right?Quote:

Matt
lakers in 5!
this thread should have just been called the "official lakers early celebration thread." :p
lmao! :lol:Quote:

Lakers in 5.
I cant see the Pistons smothering defence working against the Lakers like it has against other teams in the east. Pistons should be able to pick up one game along the way to avoid the sweep.
I'm not normally a Lakers fan, but since I'm a huge Karl Malone fan I really want him to get his ring. Hence I want the Lakers to win the NBA Championship.Quote:

If the pistons were playing anyone else, I would be rooting for them all the way, but I was born and raised on the Lakers so I can't deny the love!
This needs a bump for today's game.
well the lakers are 44-0 in playoff serieses when they have ANY sort of lead, 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 whatever, they never lose the series. so if the pistons wanna win they gotta steal game 1.
PISTONS BABY!
^^the Lakers lost to the wolves last series when it was 3-1 :spock:
I can't wait for tonight's game!
what does that have to do with anything? they are 44-0 for winning the whole series when they get any sort of lead in the series. losing a closeout game doesn't lose you the series.Quote:

as for the Pistons breaking the norms, lets hope not and just all root for the Lakers and have a good day :D
Good luck tonight, Pistons! They will definitely need some breaks in this series, but I'd like to see them surprise people. We'll see.......
The Finals are just a formality. The Lakers won the championship when they beat the Spurs. That was the real NBA Finals.
I'm rootin' for the home team no matter what
It's going to be a good series
no sweep . . . guaransheed!
Pistons in 7
:buttrock:
(I don't care what the odds are, Bad Boys for life!)
I hate the lakers like I hate the Yankees...I must of won a shitload of money last year betting on the Florida Marlins....Granted, I will most likely not bet on the Pistons :loco: but I will cheer my heart out for Detroit because I know they have a bigger chance than most people credit them "not" having.
Off topic:
I can't really hate Kobe for this raping thing, but I can hate the laker fans in the stadium that cheer for when he arrives from court. Would football fans cheer for OJ Simpson if he arrived into the stadium? He is "innocent" after all :smirk:
I also hate how the media follows Kobe all day and puts a 7 minute segment of how his day went like he's some god or something. I also hate how Colorado did not bust their balls to ruin his schedule. If I was working there, I would take whatever it takes to make Kobe in court WHILE the game is on....
I hate sports casters and fans of Kobe saying "he's like the next Jordan". Never will this over rated guy (kobe) be like Mike. Michael finished college with a business degree and now has a business under his name. Kobe might shoot like Mike, but he will never be the "man" Michael Jordan is......one last fact, and probably the only one I need to say: The lakers won more games with Shaq without Kobe than Kobe without Shaq
I also hate how Payton and Malone went to the Lakers for a easy ring. I know I know, playing and retiring in one team in sports this day and age is very rare. However Malone should of sucked up his dignity and retire with Stockon (that would of been very memorable) and Payton should of been like a "glove" and held on to his city, Seattle....
Last but not least, I hate myself......no need to elaborate on that......
Let's just enjoy the game tonight everyone....cheers
so in short, you're just a hater. :cool:Quote:

Pretty close game so far.
pistons up at the half, pistons playing great D, sheed having a big game, lots of detroit blocks already! (some BS goaltend calls tho)
pistons up by 6 at the end of 3! fuck LA! fuck the lakers! BAD BOYS BABY! BAD BOYS!
The owner of the pistons have HUGE fucking ears.
Well I'll be damned. Pistons defense even works on LA!!!
Looks like the Pistons steal one in Hollywood.
If Karl Malone wants a ring, he needs to start scoring.
Incredible. Detroit made the Lakers look average. Just like they did to Indiana and NJ. Maybe they will win the series!
Payton too needs to step-up.
Gosh, I miss the, "Glove," playing for the Sonics.
:smirk:Quote:

detroit is a real team, big ben, sheed, TP, rip, big nasty, elden, BAD BOYS BABY, DETROIT BABY!
when the lakers lose they will be broken up next year and their gay ass dynasty will be over.
it's okay. lakers dropped game 1 to larry brown three years ago and came back to win the next four. history will repeat itself.
last time i checked the 2000 76ers were carried by iverson, no one carries the pistons, they don't even have a "super star". :tickled:Quote:

Billups was a HUGE factor in the game. I didn't know he could shoot so well. The Lakers got OWNED out there and the only player that really came to play was Shaq.
If Karl wants a ring, he better make some shots and Payton isn't getting those lazy ass layups against the Wallaces. They both need to check their game!
Good game for the Pistons and hopefully the Lakers can use something from this game to take the next one or they might not come back to LA with the changed format.
Don't get me wrong, I still think they can take the Pistons in a 7 game series and really hope they do, but I don't think the Lakers have played a team where they didn't double on shaq giving other players open shots. Great stratagy from the Pistons.
They earned this game and get props from me, although I would obviously rather have things the other way :annoyed:
on to Game 2, where the Lakers NEED to win. which is when they play their best. But, even if they win, the Pistons still took one in LA, which is all they needed to do.
Now here, you're just hating.Quote:

DashK is just hating, again. I think the Lakers will win and if they do, I will be glad to come back and see DashK get humble...AGAIN. Like after the Rockets series, the Spurs series, and the Wolves series, where he hated and then backed down and then bounced to the next team. Only problem is, if the Lakers win, he won't have anywhere to bounce.
Pistons are going to be the Lakers toughest match this playoff series though, so it definitely won't be easy.
yeah i admit i'm a "laker hater", but they will get what they deserve. you have to admit tho, this is the first good team they've played in the finals, the nets and 76ers were a joke.Quote:
