Terrific friggin' thread that you started here. I couldn't imagine life without video games. So therefore, logically speaking, I couldn't imagine life being complete without having played some very unique and outstanding games at one point or another. My passion for games flows like a river in the rain... tisk tisk... video games are the ethereal cleanser that washes over my body and cleanses me from end to end. Or maybe that would be water. In either case video games are as crucial to sustaining life as water is, at least in my mind anyway.

Without further ado, from bottom to top, counting down from number ten, here they are, in numerical order, my favorite 10 video games of all time. From the age of 5 thru 23, spanning and transcending the lifespans of over 10 video game consoles. I've seen the cream of the crop and the bottom of the bottle. From my list you can tell I got really into games in about 96 or 97, I was into them when I was young, but alpha 2 got me back into them when I was in highshcool. I wish I could erase my memory of these games and play em again. Im almost ready to play through chrono trigger again. I played through ff7 again last year and it was amazing.

I consider each of these games No. 1 of all-time, for one reason or another.


Zelda: A Link to the Past - Perhaps the greatest Action/Adventure game ever (that's right, Zelda games are not RPGs), though I'd understand if would choose Ocarina of Time before this.

Radiant Silvergun - The finest shooter I've ever played, though I admit that Shikigami No Shiro 2 is starting to change my opinion.

Panzer Dragoon Saga - The finest RPG I've ever played.

Samurai Shodown II - R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Streets of Rage 2 - It's a brawler, the...brawler, much love.

Super Mario 64 - Greatest platformer, ever.

Tetris - Father of all puzzle games.

Gran Turismo 3 - Daddy of all racing games.

Super Metroid - The best Action/Platformer in town. But, Castlevania IV and Castlevania SotN are knocking on the door.

Chrono Cross - To hell with Final Fantasy, Chrono Cross is SquareSoft's magnum opus, sporting the finest soundtrack to ever grace a human's ears. Second-finest RPG I've ever played.

If I were forced to pick an absolute #1, then I would go with Tetris. Never, in the history of video games, has a game's formula been copied, borrowed, modeled or followed...more than Tetris's simple but brilliant design.

That's a hard ass list to make. There's tons I want to add, but these are the ones that, if only I could play 10 games for the rest of my life, I would stick with.... Battletoads, Mario Kart 64, Metroid Prime, any other KOF, Fatal Fury Special, MOTW, Metal Slug3, Tetris, Mega Man series, and Street Fighter 3 third strike all get love from me, too. Hard list to make.
