Contest: Name My Arcade!
O.K., it is not an actual arcade, it is the secondary basement to my house (Yes, we have two seperate basements, long story). Anyway, like some others, I have decided to do the arcade-theme full-bore for the room I store my arcade machines in, chaser lights, barstools, I even have a damn crane machine that I wound up with (I hate them because they are a scam and a half, but it was free).
A friend is going to make a light-up sign for me with the name I wind up with. If you want to go all-out and actually submit a sign design with a name, that would be cool too, but it is not necessary.
I currently call the place Subterranea, as it is underground. If no one submits a name I like better than that, I reserve the right to not issue a prize. However, if I do not like any of the names better, you can win via the alternate method of submitting a sign design for the name Subterranea. Of course, it has to be a design I like enough to get made into a sign.
What is the prize? That is up to you. No, you do not get to pick the prize, but I will base it upon your gaming preferences, so it will not be something that you hate.
Contest ends New Year's Day.

How about going with a Metroid type theme? There are some cool names to be had in that game (Super Metroid). Crateria or Brinstar would sound pretty cool.

well is it gonna be a bar as well or just an arcade? cause if you plan on making it a bar it's name wil be "the basement" like the song, but if it's just an arcade then call it: "pandemonium arcade" and the mascot shall be a panda bear. i could do a sign, but i'm not good at that kinda stuff.

O.K., I have been pondering a prize. I have a few boxes of games that I thought so highly of, I went back to the store and bought up the remaining copies in case my friends wanted one. This typically happened with stuff that wound up in a bargain bin and later became hard to find and in demand. These boxes contain stuff like sealed copies of Tobal, Klonoa, Tactics Ogre, G Darius, Einhander (All preceding this for U.S. PSX), RockMan X4 (Japanese Saturn), etc. If someone comes up with a kick-ass name that I actually decide to go with, I will draw a random game from the box for them, if they like that idea.
