Well, web traffic is really slow here, but its on all of the TV channels here. They think they caught the two responsible, and various diffeent TV stations give different stories for evidence that connects them.
The biggest rumor is that the car they have contains a rifle, and they are waiting on a warrent to search the car. They were arrested around 1AM this morning.
now bring out the firing squad.
I'm requesting a public hanging for this guy.

C'mon guys! It's America: land of lengthy trials, due process, and insanity pleas where suspects get off after killing lots and lots of people! ;)
Anyhow, cynicism aside, I doubt they caught the sniper guy...it's just too soon.
I'd give it until early January at the latest, then you might have something.
Remember, anyone who's paid enough money could easily raise a hand and take the fall for the real culprit while he runs loose capping people whenever he felt like it and no one would ever know who really did it.

I really do hope that it's him, but part of me agrees that this is just too soon. As smooth as this guy has been playing everything, it would surely be a large stroke of luck if this was actually the guy. I have read up on whats going on, AND there is alot of evidence pointing towards him. But as of yet, nothing hard enough for any charges. Let's all wait and see.

If no one else gets killed then we'll know that we got em.
Lets say these guys arent responsible, but they get convicted. A smart sniper wouldnt shoot anyone else because he got off scott free. But when you are a psycho, you probably dont think about these things.
I truthfully hope these are the people they need. This has been a tragic event. All these people killed for what? Because some psycho thought it would be fun to play target practice with people and try and extort money from the government for it? Unbelievable. These are unfortunate times we live in.

It wouldn't be the first time that two people were at the wrong place at the wrong time... Earlier this week two hispanics were delivered to immigration after being pulled over and found illagally in the US.
Well, as long as the sniper is caught, I don't care who gets deported, and which islamic extremist get's his spot blown.
It takes evidence to convict.

I dont doubt the suspects may have been involved in a murder in Alabama.

I thought they said on the news that the police sought out these two because they were mentioned in the last note from the sniper, basically throwing cops a bone to prove his authenticity or somesuch. They would hardly mention themselves in such a manner, would they?

there are a lot of different versions, but this seems more reasonable, considering the other evidence that has existed.
I heard on the radio the the younger man's fingerprint was on that tarot card left near one of the sniper's shootings?

I am about half convinced. If I don't see any more shootings for, eh, let's say, a full week, I'll assume its them or the real sniper has just stopped (highly unlikely). I'm glad the kids can enjoy Halloween now...and SCHOOL! HAHAHAHAHA!
the news said the police found a bush master 223 caliber assault rifle in the trunk.
the guy's ex wife in MD. and there is suposed to be some sort of custody battle. as for the notes not being written well. he could have done that on purpose to make people think it was a foreigner, or he is just a dumb fuck. I guess they attended that ground zero place in Alabama for urban warfare training. and I heard that he stole a credit card from some chick in alabama, and that is the account he wanted the 10 million wired to.

You know how they say that the Sniper is an english speaker well you forget his little accomplice is Jamaican. Yes Jamaica is an english speaking country however I know from experience that some of them don't write standard english well. My father is from Jamaica and his grammar isn't exactly the best, especially when he is writing things down. Go and look at the topics where me and GBITCH are arguing back and forth with each other in patois and see if you can understand it. We write Patois how we speak. His little sidekick prolly wrote those notes.

everything fits except the hole in the trunk - unless that hole was large, I can't see someone "sniping" from within it. But if the fingerprints of Malvo match those on the tarot card, and the bullets match the gun they confiscated, then I guess it's a wrap...
It would only have to be big enough to push the barrel and scope through - so maybe 6" - 8" ? In an older car like that one I can't imagine that would be too hard to do.

6"~8" is actually really big. Too big to have on a car without people noticing it. I thought that perhaps they could have one of those license plates that flip down, but that would be too low for the shooter. I really want to see how the cops explain it.

Instead of the death penalty you should ban weapons. That way you wouldn't need it.
This is my opinion. I do agree that those 2 guys deserve BIG punishment, but death penalty is just revenge. An eye for an eye.
In any case it really looks like the case is solved now, thanks goodness, so I guess there won't be more killings like that.

AAAAAH You did NOT just say that!? I'm totally against more gun laws, I can't wait to get a rifle and hunt stuff. You say the death penalty is barbaric but what's more barbaric is the crime commited in the first place. Taking another life for no reason(except during war or self-defense) is totally wrong and if you take someone's life, your's should be taken as well. It's only fair. That's a great idea! Maybe if they would have banned the weapons a couple weeks back the guy would have turned in his .223 and some lives would have been saved.

This is the problem with opponents of the death penalty: when they talk about cruel and unusual punishment they seem to forget all the innocent people that were brutally murdered by this freak show.
You want cruel? How about all the children who will grow up without a mother or father because of all this? How about all the family and friends each of the victims left behind, whose lives will be forever changed by these 2 worthless pieces of trash? How about all the other children and parents in the area who have been scared shitless the past several weeks, afraid to go outside and pump gas or play in the parks?
For example, there will certainly be some high school football players in the area who won't get a college scholarship because they couldn't play football for the scouts while this was going on. Now their one shot at going to college may be gone.
In addition, I'm tired of my taxpayer money going to all these rejects spending life in prison, particularly when it seems these days prison more resembles a country club than punishment.
Frankly what we need are a few good old fashioned public hangings. Maybe if we had a few of those some people might think twice before committing a crime. <img src="graemlins/blowtop.gif" border="0" alt="[Blow Top]" />

Well the death penalty actually ends up costing more than regular prison, but just on principle, I am confused as to why anyone would care what happens to these scum. These guys would kill you in a heartbeat. An eye for an eye is not right, but it's not like they can walk the streets ever again, so why bother even keeping them alive? They're going to be prisoners forever anyway. Just kill the fuckers. I don't care. Or let them rot. Either way is fine with me.

We won't execute the convict, we will deport them to a member country in the EU. Is Spain ready to accept a person who can kill without remorse? It's true. I don't like the death penalty myself. Not one bit. But we pay for so many other redundancies and irreverancies that really, it's probably better that we just pay for these scum too. Not like anyone knew which nostril the DC area tax money up in the '80s, right. I figure we'll always pay something exhorbitant.

Quite agree, except that you shouldn't go to prison for punishment but as punishment.
Frankly I think it would be in everyones interests to know why this guy used the skills his government paid for him to have and his privilage to own a weapon against the people he lived with everyday. Better that than kill the mofo and be none the wiser why its happening or why it will happen again, and this guy made it look so easy that it will happen again.
OK. I knew some people here would flame me, but that won't prevent me from saying my opinion. It doesn't matter my nationality, I have the right to express what I think. Only fascist pigs like too_short think the opposite.
The big problem about death penalty is that after you've done it there's no way to repair it. How many people have been executed without strong evidence against them, and even some time after they have been proven to be innocent? How many people waiting in the death corridor have managed to escape from it after a second trial? Yeah, after death they won't kill again, but how can you be sure?
You are talking about the victims, and in part you are right, but will the death of the murderers make them back to life? Will revenge make them feel better in their grave?
And about banning weapons, yes, doing so a month ago wouldn't have helped, but what about 100 years ago? How many people wouldn't have died in the past century if weapons had been banned after the "Far West" era? If you ban weapons now you could save the lifes of many of your children in the future.
I don't expect you to agree with me, maybe I need to be American to understand your point of view. Yeah, I live in the EU. Here it is almost impossible to get a gun, so crimes like that are also almost impossible. OK, organized criminals will always manage to obtain weapons, but not the regular thieves, nor pshycopaths. That's why we don't have any need for death penalty. It's better to prevent the crime than allowing it and after that killing the criminal. It's like putting a bandage to somebody right after you've "shot him in the face".
OK, let the flaming begin. But at least take the time to read my words and think about them.
