I was surprised to see that you have a CAMBRIDGE SOUNDWORKS digital stereo system. The head office isn't too far from the office where I work and they make some decent A/V gear. I wasn't aware that they sold their stuff outside the U.S.
A n64 DD,kiun! A rare item.
P.S: Garou, c'est un gros fan des kamen rider que je connais.

there've been quite a lot stores, where they've been available.
the system itself is the bomb. imo, you can't get a better (stereo) system for that amount of money. (85$ to 100$)

Me Too.
Please tell me how in detail.
I have a lot of consoles hooked up to 2 TV's in the same room.(A lot)

I also see you have a Samsung N2000 Extiva NUON DVD player. I have one in storage that I've used only once. NUON technology sucks!
Have to email you, no instant messaging (I should get with the times).
Email me at Seiferalmasy@cox.net with the pics included; and i'll upload them!

That is one sweet screen. I'm also set up with a digital setup but my screen isn't the greatest at only 27" (It's an RCA, but a high end so it's not so bad).
Still, kudos on a wonderful setup. How much for the screen? I'd love to say it someday. <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" />
Its funny, i sent him a PM regarding that screen also. Do us all a favor and just release the model number, price, etc here in the forums! :)
nice screen
is that digital?

Okay, it's a Samsung Tantus PLK405W 40" widescreen LCD projection television. I got it almost two years ago at a price of $3199.00 Canadian. It weighs in at only 60lbs and is around 6" deep, and displays a beautiful 480p (progressive) image from every source (including sources that are normally 480i, like the Neo-Geo). It is also well-suited to videogame use as LCD technology is not susceptible to burn-in. Unfortunately, they no longer make this model. The closest model in their lineup currently would be the HLM437W, a 43" DLP projection television (DLP is also not affected by burn-in) which upconverts every signal to 720p; it's a beauty!

Actually, that's my fifth DVD player, and it's the best at playing 'problem' DVDs out of all the ones I've had. Still, the Nuon technology is rather useless.

You got it at only $3200 CDN? Considering the Panasonic Tau 34" Widescreen sells for $3500, what truck did yours fall off from?
I didn't think it was so large either.

It was a good deal. It had just been replaced with a model that was exactly the same, but added a second broadband component input, and cost $1500 more. I figured I only needed one component input, and saved the $1500.00. ;)
What would a similar screen sell for now? Is there anything like your that I could get at a similar price?

Not really, unfortunately, other than the DLP model I mentioned earlier, which costs about double the price. There are a lot of CRT-based widescreen projection televisions that are in that price range (or even less), but those are very susceptible to burn in, and they weigh 200lbs or more.

"the LTM405W looks similar, according to the website. its a 40" widscreen LCD display"
I'll post mine tomorrow. I have to reinstall the software for my digital camera.
Projection TVs aren't all that easily burned in.
I've left games on pause for HOURS on 3 different projection screens without burn in. These long pause periods are also after I've been gaming for a while.
Hahahahahha, burn in <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" />
my stuff is on the collections page, but here is the link <a href="http://members.tripod.com/samuraishodown/collection.html" target="_blank">my gaming setup</a>

*Panasonic A310 DVD player/Pansonic LD player
*NeoGeo AES, PS2, Dreamcast systems

Heh thanks man. 242 is one of my favorite bands, and I've been listening to them for like 13 years (argh!), I saw them live, and their off-shoot bands are amazing also. The poster is of the very first compact disc I ever bought (Mixed by Fear). Kampfbereit!

The LTM405W is an LCD panel (as opposed to LCD projection television); the largest LCD television in the world. It also costs over $16,000.00. ;)

That's very suprising, as even 2.35:1 DVDs cause problems on these sets. If you check out reputable HDTV sites that have videogame forums, they recommend playing games for no more than 3 hours at a time, with contrast turned down to 50%, and life bars/scores/etc. turned off whenever possible.
You have gotten quite lucky; most projection televisions don't last more than three years without showing some signs of burn in. Widescreen televisions make matters worse since non-widescreen (4:3) material needs to either be viewed with grey bars at the left and right sides (they use grey now to limit the effects of burn-in, even on direct-view sets), or viewed in a stretched mode. Also, many DVDs are in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, which means there will be some 'letter boxing' even on a widescreen television.
Yes, there really is a reason for the warnings on consoles about use on projection TV sets. ;)

Yes, for those of us that have actually tried on a projection tv, burn in is not as easy as our parents have wanted us to believe.
Just a good excuse to keep me from playing Final Fantasy 1 during Falcon Crest and Dynasty...
