How many members have kids?

I would like to know how many members have children & are bringing them up in the 'Neo-Geo'/gaming wayof life?

I have 2 myself. An 17 mth old son & a daughter who will be here in Dec. <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> .

Actually, since my son has turned a year old back in June, (and stopped trying to eat the balls on my joysticks) he's starting to realize that smashing buttons on the joysticsk actually DO something. It's just so funny watching him smash buttons & look at the tv screen. He's really starting to catch on quite well. Any system I play he comes running over to get the same kinda joystick/controller I'm using. Of course is attention spans is about 5min, which is actually 4min longer than it used to be. (he has NO attention span for rpgs, lol) Well, to sum this up, he likes vidogames alot when we are home, but NOTHING can beat a day in the park getting filthy dirty to him!!

Oh yeah, I'm 25 and DONE having kids since I'm lucky enough to have 1 of each!!! And the Neo will be passed on from genereation to generation in my household <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" /> <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" /> !

Don't have one yet. but i want to have at least a dozen.

Having kids is a topic that's constantly started by my future wife (she wants one bad).

To answer your question, no, I don't have kids...yet. I say "yet", because there's a solid chance I'll be a father about a year from now. I still have mixed feelings about a child, but as I get older, (24 btw) I find myself dreading the thought of being alone. The person who I've devoted myself to has literally saved my life also, kicked my drinking habit, help me manage to climb out of a gigantic financial debt, (mostly) got me the hook-up with a decent job, and took me in when I had nowhere else to go. At times, I feel it's only fitting to bring children into the world with this person to somewhat cement, or harden the bond that we have already.

But...

The thing about me is, I'm still a kid to the core (in my eyes at least). Parenthood, is the ultimate final blow to the "good times" without immense responsibility...undeniable fact. Yeah, we've got jobs, bills and whatnot, but I still have plenty of free time to kick back, relax, and enjoy my life...which btw, in my case would be a pretty stress free one at the moment.

Not saying that I wouldn't enjoy life as much without a child, but at times, I become uncertain if or not I want to sacrifice everything that's going on now for a more no nonsense/get serious lifestyle adjustment...these would be the mixed feelings I referred to earlier.

Nope. Still happily single with no kids. I'm sure at some point I'll settle down, but at 25 there's still a lot I want to do before then. ;)

Wow... We're the same age, and I have hardly any responsibility in my life compared to you. That sucks. I'd love to have kids, but I haven't met the right woman...

Well, I didn't have any children with my first wife, but I'm 'un-officially' engaged to a wonderful girl who has a three year old daughter. We managed to get her to play about ten minutes of Pajama Sam 3 on the PC, that's about it. ;)

I have a 1 yr old and 3 1/2 year old, both girls. And, at 31, I can say it's time for the "snip snip" operation. Having girls is better than boys. Chances are they don't like games and leave dad's games alone.

And no, I certainly don't raise them in the Neo Geo way of life. They can bust an XBOX if they like but the Neo is off limits.

And my half would be all the carts I need to complete this damn collection...

Yeah, my games and systems will be in a locked room within the next year or so. I'll be buying an extra system and games if she becomes interested at some point down the road; my stuff will always be off limits. :)

He loves Video Games.He gets real excited when I turn on the NEO GEO Arcade machine.He wants me to pick him up so he can see and so he can move the other joystick.
He actually has a score of 71 on the MVS Bowling League game.lol..
I gave him a few controllers and when I play a system he runs right over.I tell him "go get your controller"..He goes and gets one of them.Then he will either sit in front of the TV or right next to me on the couch.He won't take his eyes off the screen.I'll have a ELMO tape playing for him on the other TV that's right next to the game TV and he won't watch ElMO anymore.He wants to just focus on the game.
I gave him one of my PAC-MAN tabletop handhelds and he moves the joystick around like he was playing the game.He sits it between his knees and looks into the screen.
Last night he had me cracking up,I was playing a Demo of MX Superfly.As soon as I put the PS2 on He ran and grabbed a Nintendo controller and sat next to me.
He was cracking up every time I jumped the motorcycle in Freestyle mode..He would only laugh if I jumped real high so I kept jumping over the same hill.

I have a son (18 months) and he acts the same as saturn gamer and chis1 kid. If I even go in the vicinity of my games he comes running over to play.
My wife is starting to itch for a girl now, but I don't quite think i'm ready.

Personally, I can't wait until he's older then I can REALLY enjoy my collection. (cause kof isn't fun vs the CPU)

I don't have any but having a kid would be nice, I'm 20 so i think I'll be waiting until I'm 24 or what not before I fully go ahead and settle down. But rest asured that just like daddy my children will be gamers as well and all my gaming stuff will be passed down from generation to generation

When my ex-wife and I divided up our posessions, she would sometimes bring up how much money I had spent on videogames, and how she should get some of it. However, I would bring up that if we went the full 'legal' route, an outside assessor would have to come in to place a value on everything, and I assured her that the china set, antique coffee table, etc. (stuff I was letter her keep), would be valued much higher than my videogame collection. ;)

I really don't understand why some of you people think that having kids would actually "take" anything away from your lives. I mean I still have PLENTY of time for games. And having someone to share them with makes it 100x more worth having all these systems.

I guess some of you really have ALOT of growing up to do. I mean jeez, some of you really think your time here on this earth is so "precious" that you couldn't share it with another, besides a girlfriend/wife which I guess a few of you don't have. I've been with my girlfriend for 4 years & she is 99% NOT into videogames. But, now with my son we have her out numbered!!!!

I'm nowhere near RICH either. I make $11hr & my gf makes $13hr. So, we are just normal, LOWER middle class people who have 2 kids & LOTSA fun STILL with my games!!!

Well, to sum this up, all I have to say is good luck to all you guys who wait until your like 30something, have kids & REALIZE what you've really missed.

Well I'm in school right now and i just feel that I wouldn't be able to spent the amount of time with my kid as much as I would want to. I mean I wanna be a real father not some half-assed one(but that steams from something else)

Oh, I can definately understand that type situtation. I was refering more to the people who are too busy "enjoying there freedom" & think that kids would "take" something away from their lives.

Well, I have 3 kids, triplets, 2 boys and 1 girl that just turned 4 last Saturday. They all like to play games to some extent, my daughter loves anything Barbie related so she will play the games at Barbie.com whenever we let her on the computer, as for the boys, they both like to play mostly racing games on XBOX and Gamecube. They'll sit and play until they start fighting about who gets to play next. The funny thing about the games thing is that I usually hog the games and play them without "sharing", and they always go and tell mom that I won't let them play, and I always eventually give up the controller. :)

I have a son about to turn 5. I got him started on neo and n64, but now he wants to play ps2 all the time.

I am lucky to take care of myself, let alone a wife and kids. I have had many flings as well as several multiple-year relationships. I am not emotionally stable enough to support a family, therefor I live in denial by saying I am "free" and "livin it up" or what the fuck ever. It makes me feel better because I'm a mental case, alright?

Sorry man, didn't mean to sound so anal. Guess it's just that once one finally does have kids, they forget about the joys of single life. Huuuuuuuuuuuhhhh, seems like such a long time ago.......

I don't have kids of my own but I look after my little brother and my little cousin everyday when they come home from school. I make sure they do their homework and we might end up either playing videogames, playing basketball (me against both of them at the same time) and we may watch either MTV or Cartoon Network(G Gundam, DB series) until. my uncle picks up my cousin. I still have a great time with my little brother because we have similar interests. I'm like a babysitter for most of my family but I don't like to take care of my female cousin. She is so hard to keep busy and she always wants someone's undivided attention. I can't do that when there are a bunch of other kids to look after.

So I came to a conclusion hoping to have one boy for a child and one girl. I don't really want a girl because I cannot relate to what kind of guidance a growing girl needs. I would like a girl only for the sake of my wife who might want one to love and care for. I am not going to rush the issue of having a child yet I will just enjoy myself the most I can.

I got no kids, no wife and right now no interest in that.

Since 1998 I have tried to start a new career, by quitting my old job and doing further education to get a better paid job in the future. I think this will take another 5 years at least.

And another 5 years at least to find a new place for living and a nice woman for a relationship.

So I will be more than 35 years when I have a family, if.

It seems to be a common thought that when you have kids of different genders, you treat them differently. Personally, I don't think different treatment is really necessary you know? I mean, if you treat a girl like you'd treat a boy, you get a "tomboy" and that ain't so bad, right?
I have no kids yet, still busy with my own life right now. Although I know that any kid I'M gonna have will be affluent in all kinds of games. =P I think I'd like a boy and a girl. And they'd both be badasses. :D :D :D

You must be very young since having a boy or girl has nothing to do with how you treat them. Although it's obvious that a girl would get treated differently than a boy, as a father you will likely spend more time with your daughter than son.

It never comes down to being able to relate to a daughter or having one for your wife's sake. When it happens to you (I have two girls myself), you will realize that your child relates to you perfectly and that a girl will likely be more atached to you as they grow than their mother.

I don't mean to sound condescending, but your points sound like you see kids as logical items. They are anything but. Don't compare your family members as they will relate to you in a completely different manner as your children will.

Hopefully, like me, you'll be blessed with girls. ;)

i have a girlfriend (18) and she is in college and me (22) im also go to college...we only been dating for 1 1/2 months also :) no kids till about 6 or so years!

I have twin, 2 1/2 year old boys. They have a Playstation right now, but no way will they touch my Neo Stuff until they are older.

Im 31 and the only kids I will probably ever have are the K9 kind. Dont get me wrong I love kids but I really dont want all the responsability that goes with raising them in this day and age. Besides my half sister has 4 of them , so I get to terrorize and spoil them then go home to my reace and quiet.

My current girl that I have been with for just over a year who is 25 feels the same way about them that I do , which is cool since I actually want to stay with this woman for at least a few more years, thats about as far as I care to plan my future for now.

no but I got married last summer and I hope to have kids soon.

Well actually I am young as it is. Both your reasons make sense. In fact, I am starting to see connections that are made between children and parents of the opposite sex. My daughter may end up clinging to me more and my son may end up clinging to his mother (emotionally).
