So I haven't seen one of these put up. The hardware specs seem almost identical. I am very curious to see what you are interested in seeing as this is the nbr1 place for hardcore gamers.....

Either the PGM3 or the Fujistu FM Towns Marty Special.
Where's the "neither" option?
I never buy new consoles. I wait 2-3 years after launch to see what games were good, and let people start trading in their shit to scammy game stores so I can get it cheaper used.
Neither. I just don't care about so-called "AAA gaming" anymore, I guess. I have a Wii U, Vita, 3DS, and gaming PC plus my retro machines.
I really don't see much on either system that looks appealing.
I don't for the results of this poll, but ps4 for me.
I was thinking about a Framemeister Mini for my next gen gaming. It's close enough to the same price.
wanted to vote PS4, but to be honest I'm not even sold on that one... the hype is always tempting but the truth is there is nothing I must have on either console at this point. It's definitely more likely I will end up with a ps4 at some point though.
well hardware wise, the ps4 is in 1st place.
although the Xbox one does cost $100 more so that's win in my book.
Why are you making these idiot choices? if they both turn out good systems, and Microsoft dials back some of the BS they were pushing and stop wanting to watch me masturbate, I'd buy both. We're not in grade school anymore begging mom and dad for a console for Christmas. Christ, just buy them both if they interest you.
I'm going to get a PS4 first because it costs less.
The hardware is nearly the same, the games will be nearly the same, and Sony's online service really is leaps and bounds better than it used to be.
Once some really nice exclusives come to the Xbox One and a price drop occurs I'll pick one up.
Voted for PS4.
I'll consider XB1 if they drop Kinect and have stuff like Netflix and HBO Go not hidden behind a paywall.
PS4 for me. MS lost me with all the stuff they were trying to implement, and with PS4 being cheaper, that is icing on the cake for me. Its these details that made me preorder the PS4 over a system that will likely be pretty similar to it performance wise.
I was leaning towards a PS4 but now that Microsoft has gotten rid of the DRM and dropped the Kinect requirement, I'm thinking about the Xbox. I don't do a lot of gaming these days anyway but I know I have relatives and friends who will most likely go with the Xbox and I'd like to be able to play with them sometimes.
I was hoping to not buy two consoles this gen, since as I mentioned I don't play a lot of games anymore and I doubt I need to spend nearly 1000 dollars on consoles. Aside from a few exclusives these systems are going to be exactly the same thing.
The PS4 is on preorder here. Faster ram and it isn't forcing me to use an add-on device I have no interest in using (Kinect 2.0). Although I've read that the connected Kinect is no longer required for the XBone to function the damage is done. Unless MS reveals an exclusive for the XBone I can't get on PS4 they're not getting a dime of my money this generation.
I'm planning on getting a 3DS XL. In 2016 I'll get a new system, whichever is cheaper.
Eventually? Both.
At launch? Neither.
I'm gonna wait a bit past launch but I will be scooping a PS4 for sure.
Neither.
If i have the money for it's launch then it's PS4 for me.If not maybe by next year for the PS4,still i'm not interested in the Xboxone in the least bit.
PS4 if anything. Microshits display of extreme hubris at the E3 turned me into a non-customer (still gonna steal your windows though, much love :) )
It's the same principle as the Online Pass that Sony and other companies used this generation, taken to its logical conclusion. Anyone who ever redeemed an Online Pass told Microsoft that anti used game dickery was an acceptable thing. Microsoft just overestimated how desensitized people had become.
They'll probably try again in a few years, and by then gamers will probably be willing to bend over and take it. Really glad Sony has abandoned Online Pass, really disappointed that PS4 multiplayer is now paywall'd.
PS4 get's my vote.
Neither, but in a few years if I do decide to get one it would be the PS4. I'll never buy another game system from Microsoft.
I have and or had everything else in the world of gaming, why not both of these new systems too? Isn't that what gaming is supposed to be?
With that said, I can't wait for Watch Dogs, that game has me intrigued.
PS4. Mainly for the SEGA exclusives.
A few days ago it was announced that the Xbox One will now function even if Kinect is physically unplugged. (it seems like something changes every single week)
But yeah, all of the announced "in-game uses" for Kinect so far sound lack luster. Stuff like hearing noise to attract zombies in Dead Rising 3 ... sure that's just what I need, a game that completely spoils my stealth every time a roommate walks in or the dog wants outside. Or leaning over to peek around corners ... sure that's just want I need, a game that misinterprets getting comfortable on the couch or leaning over to fart as an in-game command.
I'll be getting both at launch. Neither console has a strong launch line-up so far, awaiting GamesCom to hear if anything gets announced/added for the launch games that I might be able to throw a pre-order down for.
Getting none, i got my PC. A lot games come out for PC too and often they cheaper and look better. Beside that i rarely play games nowadays would be a waste of money to buy a console.
Whichever nets me the most money flippin'.
Going to stay away from both. Hardly play my 360 and ps3 now. Plus I still have alot of good games to catch up on before I jump to a new console.
I probably won't get either when it gets released. I'd probably end up getting the PS4 over the Xbox1 regardless...
If they can get X-Men Vs. Street Fighter online I'll buy whatever piece of shit I'm instructed to. 'Til then, no.
I was thinking its time to finally get a CMVS.
I'm sure eventually I'll pick up a PS4, but I've barely touched my PS3 in the last year or so so I am not that motivated to drop a large chunk of money (for a poor ass grad student like myself) for something that may not get much play.
I guess I'm past needing the "newest shiniest" thing in my life. Practicality and cost-effectiveness are too influential in my life nowadays. It's a good thing I guess. Also explains why I keep this half broken 5 year old 120gb ipod classic I have. SURE I'd love to have a fully working 160gb version, but half working is ok for now.
MGS5 will probably get me to drop the cash. Hell MGS4 got me to buy a PS3, if it wasn't for that I may not have bought one until SF4 came out.
PS4 - off the back of owning all the other Playstations at some point. I've always enjoyed them.
Anything carrying either Microsoft or EA logo's are safely avoided at all times.
All times.
All.
.
I just was getting a feel for what people thought. I really only use these systems to play fps games with old friends. I am torn between the two and wanted good opinions. Im sure I will eventually own both but for now on launch im gonna grab a ps4. Im so out of the loop on what is happening with the systems and I always get good feedback here.
I don't know about this. Ryu Ga Gotoku 1&2 was ported to the Wii U recently. Yakuza 5 also uses a new engine, so I doubt Sega is going to make a new one anytime soon for next-gen. I think they're trying to test the waters whether it'll be viable to make the series PS3/Wii U multiplatform at the very least.
As for the main topic, I'll be taking a wait and see approach on the new consoles until there is a decent amount of games I want. It'll mainly depend on the Japanese games and exclusives as most of the multiplatform releases will probably end up seeing a PC release.
probably eventually get the xbox one, since psn kinda sucks balls
I'm thinking wait-and-see at this point. For Wii U I'm still glad I don't have one and the only announced title that made me turn my head was SMT vs Fire Emblem. For PS4 and Xbone the S-E titles are intriguing but S-E games are reaching the point where they are no longer safe to blind buy. PS3 has Beyond: Two Souls and a true Disgaea sequel on the way which beats any of the 3 launch lineups.
new video card > ps4/xbox one
Besides my vintage collection i always stuck with PS so the PS4 for me the new Killer Instinct was looking pretty cool for a quick second but i'll past and get the PS4 sometime next year
Originally I was PS4 all the way but when they announced that Titanfall was going to be an Xbox exclusive title I have to get it instead as that's the main game I want to play. Right now on my PS3 the only games I really play are COD but only multiplayer as I like those types of games.
