Alien Abductions, do you believe in them?

I decided to catch a matinee of the film "Dark Skies" and I really do recommend it to anyone that is interested in a good alien abduction type of movie. I remember reading both "Communion" and "The Greys" both by Whitley Strieber, who describes the events that happened to him and the things he describes whether they are true or not, were terrifying.

Most people know about the Travis Walton story from "Fire In The Sky" with his friends/co-workers witnessing his abduction late at night, the controversy afterwards, yet they all still passed the lie detector tests, some multiple times if I remember right. The Roswell incidents and Area 51 in which the government will never tell us about. So, I'd like to ask what do you guys think about it? Do you believe in any of it and do you think we'll ever get any sort of straight answers?

I think there's a lot of things out there that we don't know of, or don't understand. Do I believe beings more intelligent than we are coming to our planet to probe our anuses? No, but I think its possible they're carrying people away..

There are reports throughout history, in every corner of the world of people being whisked away by "angels" or "heavenly beings". Am I convinced they were 100% legit? No, but I think there's something that can be said about them being plausible, even possible.

You can just type in my location with UFO behind it and find way to much stuff. Drives me crazy that occasionally people still try to write about it here. I don't think either way about it but in one of the books they used a bunch of pictures from the beach at the end of the street I lived on at the time.

There's no convincing evidence for Alien abductions, so no, I don't "believe" in it. Why should an extra-terrestrial race with a technology capable of flying to earth from a solar system that's possibly dozens of lightyears away abduct humans? A species on such an advanced technical level surely wouldn't have a problem doing whatever they want to do without physically picking up lifeforms from a planet they're interested in.

I've seen very odd lights in the sky on multiple occasions, some of which I have seen in various videos online. Though that doesn't mean too much. I can't say whether they're coming here to study us or not.

Like others have said, our supposed superiority over animals hasn't stopped us from examining them, imprisoning them and testing them to see why they are what they are, or even using them for a variety of medical and pharmaceutical purposes. I am not trying to sound like an activist here, but it's simply what is happening in the world.

On their own (supposedly) primitive level, I'm sure animals are terrified of being captured and living in captivity while they are subjected to things they have no comprehension of.

Now, *IS* it happening? I do not believe so, no.

But neither am I going to just presume that simply because a society is so advanced as to have developed space travel that we are beneath their notice. What if we're the only thing within their reach? What is their society like? What is their behavior like? Why did they even develop space travel in the first place? There are so many motivational factors that may or may not have anything to do with how we think that I couldn't accurately determine that.

Shit, we can't even get into each other's minds. Are we really making the mistake of presuming we will know how aliens think? Are humans really so arrogant as to project their own thought processes onto other forms of life?

Or do we need to 'study' them to see whether we think like them or not? Are we compatible? Can we coexist? Will we be at war? If so, what are their weaknesses?

And are we really willing to risk the future of our species on being polite with our inquiries?

I don't have that kind of faith in humanity.

So if there are aliens out there flying around in spaceshps with greater power and intelligence than us, I hope they're nicer than we are, too.
