E-gouge is flooded with this shit now, and I have to wonder what kind of people would buy this crap.
ng.com has had its share of overpriced games, so the money is out there.
I can replicate almost any type of shrinkwrap, y folds, etc. Seals and all. I'm guessing half this sealed crap is not original.
Sometimes i want to track down a game, and all i get are VGA graded items for $300
I have seen this myself and seen a Slim PS2 asking over $1000, it's only going to get worse.
That shit is against my religion...dumb fucking idea for dumb fucking buyers.

id rather see it stay affordable and playable.
vgs is ruining the hobby.
Video grading is for non AES big tymers. They just want to feel like they have something to tell someone else they have the others do not.
I hope people aren't really this retarded.
I have used their company AFA toygrader for action figures but I dont think I would use the VGA service as grading video games doesnt make much sense.
Brianstoys catalog use to have tons of VGA games in it.

If you want to see sad check out the sealed game collectors forum or the VGA grading thread at Nintendo Age. NES has been hit hard by VGA shit and it's interesting to me how it's more embraced over there but it's really looked down upon and generally despised over at PCEFX and here.
I sold a sealed Chaotix on ebay a while back and I really wish I just sold it on a forum. I started it at $1 but it ended up going to a reseller who sold VGA stuff.
Considering how inflated game prices have gotten this isn't shocking. If you are tempted to sell your collection now is the time. Games are super overpriced lately. The balloon will burst eventually, and we will reap the sweet benefits.

Back to the thread title, I have bought one VGA graded item. It was a sealed copy of Boxxle 2 for Game Boy. It was graded as an 85, which is ironic because that was what I paid for it: $85.
The first thing I thought was: How the hell am I going to get it out of this shell without ruining it? For those that have never seen one up close, they are sealed in an extremely hard plastic shell. I assume this is so that the game (or, as I like to refer to it, your brick) cannot be damaged without excessive force.
Long story short, my brother was able to get it out by hitting one of the corners with a hammer and then sawing the rest of it. Pulled it out...no damage and it sits in a box protector on my shelf. I left the game sealed and was able, rather easily, to find a loose copy.
My opinion on VGA itself is very similar to a lot of yours. I think in probably ten years, the majority of decent/semi-rare games will be ridiculously overpriced...very similar to what happened with comic books. Just, for some reason, it seems to be happening much quicker for video games.

What I don't get is how people pay so much for VGA games when they could buy a mint sealed copy for probably much less and have it graded themselves.
