Right to bear arms, my ass. Can't even protect myself and family.
I live in a nice, quiet neighborhood.
Quite a few members have been to my house and have seen the area first hand.
I don't live in Youngstown and haven't since 2002.
All of my neighbors besides the pieces of shit that live next door to me are old and retired, very friendly.
Have a couple creepy fucks though. Directly across the street from me was an older woman that had some "issues" and next door to her are a strange couple - one is a drug addict and the other is just fucked up. Both on their late 60's.
So, I was out on my neighbors porch across the street smoking a cigar a few weeks ago... It was me, my 82 year old neighbor, my 72 year old neighbor and his wife.
Mia came out and started riding her bike... on my side of the street.
We all noticed that the crazy lady's house had some unusual company. But we ignored it.
Up until we heard loud screaming, swearing and crying.
I ran off the porch to see what was up. Saw this dude about 6' 5" 350 yelling in this old mans face, just screaming and cursing at him. Saw a pistol in his back.
So I walked across the street to get Mia and put her in the house.
The guy turned around and saw me...
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU STARING AT, BITCH?"
I was like "Dude, can you keep it down please? My daughter is outside."
"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHO'S OUTSIDE, MIND YOUR OWN MOTHERFUCKING BUSINESS."
I kept walking with Mia to get to the house...
My neighbors stepped off the porch and told him to "simmer down, we don't need this around here."
He then told them to fuck off and not to worry, they'd be dead soon anyway.
I got Mia back to the house and was standing in my front yard watching him...
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA DO BITCH?"
I told him one last time to "Settle the fuck down, dude."
He starts coming across the street.
I told him to stay the fuck back.
I went in the house and grabbed my shotgun, put it by the front door.
He was still arguing with my neighbors, standing right on the curb.
I went back out and told him I called the police.
That pissed him off... across the street he came on to my property and towards my front door.
That shotgun was cocked and pointed right at his fucking head.
I've never had emotions of fear and adrenaline come over me like that, it was surreal.
I was almost crying with anger "NOW WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA DO?"
The guy was frozen. Didn't know what to say... Mumbled a few things...
Cops were called.
They had me drop the gun and handcuffed me, tossed in the back of the cruiser.
It's a good fucking thing my friend on the force showed up..
I kept my mouth shut about his gun... but they said I'm NOT ALLOWED outside my home with a gun.
I told them what had happened.
They didn't care.
Wanted to charge me with felonious assault among other things.
My buddy got it down to an aggravated menacing charge.
But I had no ground to stand on. They did not want to hear my side of the story.
If a gun is brought out of the house, you're fucked, no matter what.
I did what I had to.... I protected my neighbors and most importantly, my family.
My buddy and the rest of the cops said that I should have let him come in the house, then I could have done whatever I needed to do.
I don't think I could have shot this guy... Just having the gun to his head was fear enough.
I diffused the situation, nobody was hurt, but I get charged.
I know I could have made many different decisions, but in the heat of the moment, I feel I did what was necessary.

A few people knew about this when it happened.
Did I make a bad decision? Probably.
Did I accomplish what I intended? Most definitely.
Be back later.
