Man, I like Montreal & Toronto.
Can't root for a winner there.
Blues start there season Saturday against Nashville.
Can hardly wait!
I've been to one NHL game (and lucked out when Gaborik scored 5 goals), and now I've finally gotten around into getting into NCAA hockey --I went in on some shared season tickets for the U. of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
I know this isn't exactly NHL, but I doubt there's as much interest for college hockey here.
So far I went to the opening exhibition against the University of British Columbia (with Magician from here), and tomorrow I'm heading to the season opener against Sacred Heart (I want to make a sign that says "Desecrate Heart", but I don't know how that would fly).
When are you going to come to Morgantown and take in a Mountaineers game? You haven't lived until you've experienced one of our famous post game couch burning student riots first hand.
I'd love to see WVU vs. USC. Maybe some day.
Back to Hockey: The Habs are down 0-2 to the Leafs. Damnit! Damnit! Damnit!
The Kings are opening tomorrow night in Sweden against the Rangers. I wonder if a lot of people will show up?
Hope the Sharks can get to the Cup Finals this year.
I hope the Canucks can take it all the way this year; watching the finals last season was a heartbreaker :(
Watching the aftermath was equally heartbreaking.
Toronto takes Montreal 2-0. Not the way I wanted to start the season. But, there are 100+ games left.
Caps start tomorrow night against Carolina.
I went to my first hockey game last year when they beat the Rangers in game 5 in the first round of the playoffs, and I got a partial season plan this year.
Might try and get full season if I can, DC is Cap crazy right now since they are doing well, and every other team sucks here.
Yeah, but the Skins have started out strong before. Don't get me wrong I hope they do well and go far. Actually I'll be at the next game vs the Eagles. I was there last year when they got destroyed on MNF so I hope they bring their A game and redeem themselves this year.
Tell me about it.
I caught some of the game last night, but not the end... Still, it felt kinda good to watch hockey again. Hell, it even (almost) felt good to already get a litany of insults from the legions of Canuck haters, who are already claiming the 'Nucks will disappoint in the playoffs.
Major bump on an unused thread and a big LOL on the last post predicting disappointment for the Canucks in the playoffs. Yep...nothing like the top seed losing in the first round :tickled:

I knew I shouldn't have said anything...
It's awesome to see the Kings finally get past Round 1. The game with Dustin Brown netting two shorthanders was pretty insane.
I hope they go all the way, but if the Kings are beaten, I'll be pulling for any of the remaining Western Conference teams. It'd be a heartbreaker to see the East take it again!
No Canadian teams making it to round 2 hasn't happened in 16 years...my interest in this year's playoffs died with Ottawa's and Vancouver's respective playoff runs.
Any time someone cheers on a NY team, I laugh. It's a litmus test showing that the fan has no interest in the sport. NY sports - for the casual mindless consumer.
im originally from NY. Born and raised a NY sports fan. Was i supposed to become a hawks fan when i moved here? bulls? (shudder) cubs? hell no. The real NY sports fans are loyal to the bone. There are tons of fairweather fans out there (like any team except the coyotes and the tampa bay rays), but there is something to be said for sticking with your team. NY sports has an awesome history. On top of that, there is nothing casual and mindless about being a Mets fan like myself- especially a displaced one.
that shit kills me.

BTW last night's game was Phoenix's sixth overtime game in seven playoff games, an NHL record.
I won't get to cocky knowing how the Caps play in the PO's, but le's go Caps! Made the first three games against Boston, nothing like PO hockey.
Good one. Hate all you want. Your just the typical douchebag.
Lies. He makes an exceptional douchebag.
New Jersey vs Canada....
There are no winners.
At least Canada smells ok.
Thats true

Jeez. I have no idea who to root for this year.
