It was obviously the Boston fans (in disguise). Canadians don't do this kind of stuff.

We need to see some 'Vancouver Riots Special Edition' up in here, with wookies and added brontosaurus aliens and other distractions that completely diminish the meaning and relevance of the event.

Shame on the shit disturbers.
The people on the arena, cheering on Tim Thomas as he received his award, and then cheering "go cancucks go" after the loss shows real class

Shame there doesn't seem to be any looter fatalities.
Haha, the skinny Asian guy in the top pic with the battle cry and hockey stick is classic!
Overall though, terrible stuff. That pic of the unconscious Boston fan is sad.

this looks like a scene from a bad 90s arcade shooter. One of the innocent people you don't shoot while mowing down aliens/terrorists/ what have you. I think its the blur, makes it look like digitized characters you'd see on a Sega Saturn.
I think the shades also help give it that bad 90s look and the hands in the air like he's about to say "Don't shoot don't shoot"

I was talking to a friend of mine who was (safely) in Surrey last night. She said 9 people were killed during the riots so far. It's nuts.
I just hope I have a Vancouver to visit next month and not the Vancouver ruins. :(

Untrue.

I've been in a sports riot, they're kind of wacky.
I hope Facebook leads to a lot of people getting cited --they never completely delete anything so all of those wall posts, updates and images will be in the servers. Thank heavens most of the people involved were idiots.
You really can't get cited for that kind of photo, because there's no proof you did anything (vs. those ones with people hurling things, stealing things, etc).

i knew this was going to happen, which is why i didn't go anywhere near downtown last night. especially when i saw how big the crowd was outside the cbc building.
it's kinda funny, I was only down there briefly in a car, but I seen like 2 fights on the sidewalk, both involving a different bald white guy with a beard... and now that photo... watch out for them bald whiteguys with beards...

That guy had "deal with it" sunglasses to go along with that beard. Pretty awesome.

Not that all of it was, but guarantee this was pre-meditated by some opportunist. Was reading that early on they already had people with mask running around doing shit. All it does is take one person to get that mob mentality going and bam, Coach bags a plenty.
When I see stuff like this, all I can think is do we REALLY think we're all that advanced when a sports game can put us back to anarchy? I mean in the grand scheme, fucking retarded reason for a riot. Oh no, my team of dudes couldn't get that thing in a net!

There was some serious rioting here when the SF Giants won the world series. But nothing like this.
I've never seen Canadians act this way. Do they have some secret beef/chip on their shoulder to the US?
Also I would never loot... But if I did it probably would be Louis Vuitton... Shitty/stupid putting it on craigslist the next day though.

I totally agree, I was saying yesterday that theese people are really not even a step up from gorillas beating their chests with their raising their arms and screaming, not saying any words, just making loud noises with their mouthes and throwing shit around.

I love the idiots on Facebook that say it was them in the pictures. Might as well just call drive down to the police station and eliminate the middleman of having the cops come to you. I really hope all of these idiots that posted pictures or said it was them in the pictures get arrested. I was watching the news tonight and they had one of the chiefs saying that most of the people weren't really hockey fans but just people looking to start a riot. He said they had masks and hammers ready to go. So it sounds like if the team won or loss, shit was going to happen. When I first saw somebody on my Twiiter feed say "Here come the riots!" I thought they meant Boston, never thought it would be Canada.

i watched a bit of the news today, and the cops said that there were way too many people with masks, goggles, weapons, and gasoline for it to not have been pre-meditated by a group of people.
plus there was a riot here last year about the olympics, so it's not like this hasn't happened before.

Watch in order. You see the guy around 2 minutes in.
People who riot after sporting events have no place in our society. They need to be arrested, declared enemies of the state, and deported to a lonely island in the south pacific inhabited only by cannibals.
EDIT: In fact this enrages me so much that if anyone did this shit near my house I'd put on my pistol, some magazine pouches, and get one of my long arms and start fucking shooting people. I'm sure the fire dept and any other EMS persons wouldn't mind some protection.

LOL was that guy that delivered the OHKO on the phone when he was throwing the punch? He's holding his left hand up to his ear.

This is the only time I'll ever make such a statement:
I want to see more pictures of the police beating the shit out of these degenerate lowlifes. They should have at least deployed tear gas and plastic, less lethal, shot.
That shit would have ended after a few motherfuckers got hit by a 12 gauge bean bag.
Okay, those things would have probably made the situation worse...but god damn man.
People are fucking stupid.

I wonder how much of the rioting was due to the 100,000 people hanging around downtown and watching the game on various outdoor screens.

None. Thousands of people stayed up all night in massive groups in 2002 to watch the World Cup games in SK/Japan on giant screens in Koreatown and no one rioted in LA --and LA knows riots.

I couldn't figure out what the images in the the first post were about, wondering what could make Canadians so angry? Checked google for "vancouver riots", saw:
"the Vancouver Canucks lost"
