Awesome to see the Big N got them to do a commercial for Ocarina. BTW, Robin's oldest son came up with the name. When I was a kid I remember seeing an interview with him and he was asked how the new baby was. He said that his son wanted to name the new baby and he was hooked on NES at the time and came up with Zelda. He then said "I'm just thankful it wasn't a boy. I'd have to say, Here's my son, Donkey Kong."

He tells that story a little different in the video. He says he's glad he didn't name her Epona etc....

I just watched the video after I posted that. I didn't think he was a big Nintendo player. The one comedy special he did where he said "I found something worse then crack...it's called NINTENDO!! Mario! Mario! Get me another mushroom! AHH!" It cool to see Robin was just like my parents, but instead of Nintendo they would play 2600.

Robin Williams is an authentic gamer, and not just a poser gamer like a lot of celebrities you see in these commercials.

There were all kinds of rumors about him playing WoW a few years back. Not sure if they were true or not.

I know he's been spotted at a couple of E3's with his family, didn't know he was into anime as well. I know there's an Eva reference in One Hour Photo where the kid he's stalking shows him one of the action figures. He was creepy as hell in that movie. I also hear the play he's doing now (hence the beard) is supposed to be really good. But for everything that he's done, I'll always remember him as Popeye. One of the movies I lived on as a kid.
