Deuce has played it, but since he's done* posting on this site, I guess you'll just have to wait.
I found it on a private torrent site... by the way - which one of you is Tyrael87 at BG ?
I found it on 4chan. I'll play it in a few
Shit downloaded at 1.7mb per second all the way to 99.7% which i've been stuck at for like hours -_-
i'll wait til the release to play it. I want to wait til there are some reviews after the mess XII was.
nice all this time later and I get an i/o board configuration error. Doesnt seem like this is mapped for keyboard.
Nvmed everything fantastic and its the game everyone wanted.
Yes because its kof12 but with what matters.
More characters, a story, better presentation and continuing the story. KOF 12 gameplay was already great and this is just an expansion on that. Of course this in no way means the hope port will be good. What we want is netcode so.....
I wasn't aware that piracy was so greatly acceptable on this 'site. :(
I grabbed the ROM that Kern linked to earlier. I've fired it up and it's OK. I've got tons of graphical glitches, but that could be my setup and not the ROM. I can't really be bothered to find out. The game looks nice, graphically, but meh. I'll give it a go when/if it gets a port to 360/PS3. I haven't been following Playmore's releases at all, so I have no idea when this is even supposed to come out, but I know I'll never see it in an arcade (especially with Arcade Infinity closed and gone). Not that I'd make the drive for this anyway...
This place has changed a lot. People use to get ran out of here by a mob carrying torches and pitchforks for talking about roms. Now they get links. Times are changing.
I want to DL it but I don't have a graphics card on my laptop and probably will never get one LOL
Nah, you're wrong. There were always people talking about ROMs. Most people's stances haven't changed. Those that supported them always supported them, and those who hated them have always stated that... Hell, I came here thanks to them, and bought way too many games due to them. Even the noble went ape shit to get their hands on Ghostlop's ROMs, or to buy a cart made from them. People discuss the X in 1 carts all the time, and we've had a lot of members that have openly supported emulation for years. Definitely not new at all to be talking about emulation here.
Its absolutely gorgeous and plays great.... still going to pick it up for 360 and or PS3 though.
.
Taito Type X2 is pathetic hardware and runs on almost any modern pc some even with integrated graphics if your cpu is good enough
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Embedded
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400/Pentium 4 651/Celeron D 352 (up to latest Core 2 CPUs supported by the chipset)
Chipset: Intel Q965 + ICH8
RAM: DDR2 667/800MHz (512MB/1GB, up to 4GB)
GPU: PCI Express x16-based graphics. Support cards include ATI RADEON X1600Pro/X1300LE or nVIDIA GeForce 7900GS/7600GS/7300GS, up to latest graphic cards (Radeon HD 3800 or Geforce 9800 series)
If you've got an Ion based netbook it will run taito games fine.
So if those are to hard for you to understand
Any dual core cpu at 1.5gzh any single core at 3ghz
512MB of ram up to 4GB depending on the game. KOF only requires 1GB
A video card of any sort that still sold.
Also throwing this out here. This isnt emulation at all.
All new arcade hardware is just a PC in a box. You dont have to emulate anything hence why these run so perfect. The last system people used that was unique hardware was the Chihiro or the Atomiswave. The Atomiswave/Naomi platforms are emulated currently now and also run on most modern day netbooks.
The difference is that emulating Neo games now create no financial concern for SNK, while emulating games that haven't been released yet - KOF XIII or not - are certain to cause losses for the company.
Why someone would want to cheapen the experience of playing XIII for the first time on their fucking PC is beyond me, besides self-discipline. It's like choosing to watch a movie you've been waiting so long to see on your 13'' computer a few weeks before release that you'll inevitably watch in the theater anyway. Whatever.
i think the anti-emulation/rom talk went out the window when the neo officially died.
edit: posted this before i was sage's post:
i'm probably NEVER going to see a kofXIII machine.
ever.
they announced that it's gonna get ported. awesome. till then i'll play the rom. then buy the game.
cause i want to play it.
p.s. snk is dead.
True, laptops are like bad ass portables that can be hooked up to TVs and stereo systems. Me and my friends play 3rd Strike on my laptop all the time. Nothing like playing an arcade perfect 3rd Strike in a big ass TV. It's also cool not having to worry about a joystick for a specific console. My friends all bring their PS3 and 360 sticks and they all work on my laptop cuz it's all usb.
I ended up Dling it and it works like a charm. I just need to figure out how to get my Joystick to work with this thing cuz this keyboard shit ain't cutting it. This game is absolutely GORGEOUS on my laptop. I didn't think it would look this good but it had my jaw on the ground as soon as it booted up.
fuck the SFIV series.
Can't find the download. I fail at the internet.
In other news, I actually made a special trip out to Arcade UFO when my band played in Austin a few weeks and when I got there, the dude said they had JUST taken KOF XIII out the previous weekend. I asked him if he would put it back in for me (since there were 4 continuum shift 2 cabinets and all he'd have to really do is do a quick switch) but he said "That would be impossible." Have been wanting to play this game for a long, long while. October can't come soon enough!
Torrenting it right now. It should be finished by the time I wake up, but I won't have a chance to try it out until I get home from work tomorrow. :(
I think people just changed their view based on growing up and/or the price of what was being emulated or they just left. I'm also talking WAY before the X in 1 carts were around. People have jumped on higher priced arcade emulation (naomi/X2) like flies on shit. I'm talking more about when all there was was "real Neo games" or "mame". Personally, I could care less. Do what ever you want and I'm not here to say what people should or shouldn't talk about. I just mentioned how times have changed. If you don't remember when topics like this were flame wars with TOS quotes and potential bans, I don't know what to tell you. lol.
The timing of this leak is pretty ruinous....do you think it'll hurt sales enough to put them out of business?
Not judging anybody here, just a little concerned for the company.
I did that but it wasn't working. I had to dl xpadder. Even that was sort of a pain in the ass because when I ran typex_config and my joystick wasn't working it just set all the buttons to nothing. So I had to try to figure out what was what again and it was just a pain in the dick.
I'm not sure if it'll put them out of business but it'll hurt sales. This thing actually has a practice mode which is something I've never seen in an arcade dump before in my life. I think practice mode alone is enough to keep people satisfied with just this dump.
Won't affect me though, cuz I'm obsessed with original copies. Sadly many don't share my obsession.
what do you mean its only single player mode? You should be able to play 2 players.
Is this even the 1.1 version?
I remember back when it wouldn't have taken until post #32 for someone to worry about this.
I'll be buying the game when it hits, and I'm not bothering to download this. But I can't help feeling this was SNKP's final KOF anyway. They barely got this one out (and honestly, I wasn't expecting THAT). I think they're done.
I mean honestly no one I know likes SNK games so to say it supports 2 player local is just like saying its 1 player. If I cant get online and play then I cant play.
Btw why doesnt anyone just use joy2key and map their stick. I found it effortless.
I think its pretty good so far...I even like that art.
Looking forward to the (hopefully) expanded home version.
Definitely buying The King of Fighters XIII the day it comes out.
But I'll be playing this every single day until then. I want to be as good at the game as possible by the time it comes out.
Interesting. Couple weeks ago I was visiting another city, saw some candy cabs running SF4, never dawned on me that they were still making modern arcade/jamma hardware. Went home, did some googling .. was almost ready to pull the trigger and purchase a new board+hd+dongle ....
But then I saw on google "taito type x2 loader", and I started snooping around about this..
Long story short, shit like this does effect sales. But at the end of the day, I'm not putting it into a route/service so you can assume my wallet is still heavy... But I also tracked down some tech info on the guy who started dumping them. As far as I'm concerned there isn't actually any protection...
Its basically everything you wanted from XII.
Love the last boss, he's so Urotsukidoji. Which pleases me immensely.
Oh wow... I'm tripping out. It really is a PC Game... The video files are WMV and the sound files are OGG vorbis.... oh man... no protection at all. What a shame....
Okay I got this downloaded and it works like a charm! My only gripe is I can't change the resolution setting in the game. Changing my computer resolution setting does NOTHING.
Have to admit... this is a fun one. I don't get it though. I have an intel i3 3.20mhz, 6 gb ram, and it's not full speed. I think my graphics card is what's crapping it up a little.
