Fffffffffffuck.
I'm just gonna call it now folks, GAME.OF.THE.YEAR.
I only really discovered this game a few days ago. I put up my pre-order the next day...i really want that art book!
I just hope they can deliver with the online. It's going to be amazing playing this on the couch with friends but I hope I'll be able to connect to everybody else getting the game. (Gotta get a headset for my Triple)
Some new details have emerged.
Can't wait to get in my homocave and play this extremely juvenile game with no maturity or dark story.Quote:
There is a “Game Master,” voiced by Takashi Taniguchi in the Japanese version, who will be your guide in your Dragon’s Crown adventure.
The game will begin at the Dragon’s Paradise bar, where all six selectable characters are gathered at a round-table. When you make your selection, you’ll be able to customize their color, voice, greeting message, character selection message, revival message, and their dying message.
There will be two AI partners supporting you as you progress through the game: A Rogue named Rannie, who opens treasure chests, locked doors, and carries your loot; and a Fairy named Tiki, who will serve as your navigator.
When you enter a town, you’ll be able to visit various facilities that will help you on your journey, including party organization and shopping for items.
Dungeons will be a big part of the Dragon’s Crown experience, since that is where you’ll gather new weapons and armor, earn experience points and money, and complete quests. Sometimes an event scene will also occur while you are exploring, like meeting new characters like the barbarian warrior Roland.
More customization options will come with Skill Points, which will be earned as you gain experience through fighting monsters and completing quests. These points can be used at the Adventurer’s Guild to learn new skills.
There is going to be a rather large cast of characters to meet as you progress through the game. Some characters will be important to the story, like Princess Vivian, Prime Minister Gustav, and the Royal Prince Dean of the Hydeland Castle. While others will play supporting roles that will help improve your chance in surviving your adventure; like Morgan Risley who runs the magic shop, Samuel who is the head of the Adventure Guild, and Lucian, a wizard who lives in the Old Tower laboratory.
This game is going to be so good.
I need a new PS3 controller.
I
like
big
boobs and I cannot lie,
you other brothers can't deny
When a girl walks in
With a itty bitty waist
and some round things in yo face
New sorceress images are up.
Spoiler:
I can hear Merc furiously mastrubating from here.
Most of this is probably commonly known by this point, but here is a list of 'top ten' things to know about Dragon's Crown.
Posted here in case anybody wasn't aware of the key points.
I learned one thing from it: the PS3 and Vita versions will have cross play. Won't be cross buy, however.
EDIT: I'll be too busy playing Diablo III.
No, I'm not tired of beating that dead horse.
Have you checked out the American trailers on gametrailers?
http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/a1zlq4/dwarf-trailer
Looks pretty cool....too bad it'll be collecting dust in my homocave while I play something a little more dark and mature....got any suggestions for what that may be, Taiso?
I suggest all three Diablo games, a LFL game and anything with Momoko.
Any good pre-order deals on this?
Yeah. You get the artbook for free.
Notiuce the other artists contributing to the artbook, as well.Quote:
Publisher Atlus announced today that Dragon’s Crown pre-orders will include a 64-page art book loaded with illustrations from artist George Kamitani.
The limited edition soft-cover art book will also feature artwork by other Japanese artists, including Akira “Akiman” Yasuda, Kinu Nishimura, and Bengus—all of whom worked on various Capcom fighters.
Dragon’s Crown launches on PS3 and PS Vita August 6 in North America. Pre-orders are available at GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, New Egg, and Best Buy.
I haven't pre-ordered a retail game online in years.
Which of the retailers will get me the game on the release day? I'm strongly considering taking a few days off work to sit down with this. I'll at least take Thurs/Fri off.
I've moved a lot of my business from Gamestop to Amazon. My store took good care of me, but not having to make an extra trip to the store to pick up the game can't be beat.
Anything I preorder from Amazon, game or movie, is always at my house day of release.
I am an Amazon Prime member, and believe me it's worth it for the free shipping alone.
Yeah, I want to see that Bengus art.
Small update just to post the opening movie that was streamed by Atlus:
Man that looks so good.
Is there a playable build at E3? I'd love to hear some impressions.
It's playable at E3:

How the thief works sounds really neat.
I just bought a new PS3 controller in preparation. My old one was busted. I need to actually hook up my PS3 again and start getting the updates.
Lagduf, we are going to play this game together.
That's all I got to say about that.
This game is what I always wanted the CPS3 to produce, but we ended up with 2 JoJo games instead. Better late than never, though. I hope this game has plenty of hidden stages and the like, though. Given how exquisite the art is I can't help but worry that there's going to be a lot of short or recycled stages and bosses (one of the few negatives of Odin Sphere was fighting the same boss 4-5 times throughout the course of the game).
on the plus side, that's better than only using their assets once and the overall playthrough being 4-5 times shorter/smaller.
Don't think a beat em up reusing bosses is as bad as SRPGs boss/elite battles mostly being recolors of monster types fought before.
They did say something about revisiting locations. It's no Diablo but it seems more loot/leveling focused than D&D.
more gameplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK-da...tailpage#t=95s And it appears there might be a infinite dungeon or some random generated dungeon. http://www.destructoid.com/i-m-down-...n-256291.phtml
and PVP arena.
Nice footage saner. The game looks incredible.
I'm going to start limiting myself to checking out anymore footage of the game. I always seem to over hype myself and sometimes things never live up to what I expect. Reading all the interviews where the creator said it's a game he's wanted to make since the days of the Saturn I think it'll turn out alright. The only thing I want to read up is how the game is going to handle online. I think that's one of the only things they haven't gone into. I really hope it's like some of the later Konami beat em' up ports where if the host of the game leaves it will automatically pick a new host then having to throw everybody back to the start screen like some other games did.
Perhaps some would agree that the Netcode is a more important subject than host switching feature.
Even Castlevania Harmony of Despair is still played to this day online despite disconnecting if the host leaves (and no drop in/drop out co-op)
because it has one of the greatest and most stable netcodes to date
(especially considering there is little to no issues playing with Japanese, Hong Kong, Thailand, Middle East
Canadian and European players. Disconnects are very rare).
And that's impressive also considering it can support up to 6 players co-op online, with so many pixels being generated at the
sametime with no loading between rooms. Everything on the map runs in real-time and works smoothly online.
Yea the netcode could make or break the online co-op for people (like KOFXIII's netcode kind of caused people to shy away from it,
despite Atlus's marketing.)
D&D Chronicles of Mystara's online co-op is secured with Iron Galaxy's quality GGPO netcode, but yea Dragon's Crown netcode
raises big questions.
I think it will turn out fine but it might not be up to standards for playing with people overseas. Though who knows what
resources and experience and testing the developers have to ensure the netcode is up to standards.
been hyped for this one for quite a few years. huge kamitani fan with muramasa, odin sphere, and princess crown. probably the only game that isn't a shmup or point and click adventure that I will actually preorder.
that new gameplay video is awesome too. still stuck on wanting to play the dwarf since his moveset looks legit.
This and Batman are the 2 games I have pre-ordered this year. I am pumped and cannot wait for August to get here.
I was on the fence about picking this one up at launch, but after watching some more of the gameplay footage I have been swayed enough to take the plunge. Plus full fledged 2D game releases like this and rayman origins/legends are so rare these days I don't mind throwing some support their way.
This is the kind of game that people need to buy on launch day. We don't get enough of these types of games and they need the support. Besides, it's streeting for $50. A brand new 2D beat 'em up that is the spiritual successor to Dungeons and Dragons coming out at a slightly lower price point? This is everything traditional gamers could ever want, and should be purchasing day one rather than waiting for a price drop. There shouldn't even be a question.
I wish this was cross platform! Gah. Anyone want to donate a PS3? :D
you can actually preorder it from amazon for $45 too.
I have a YLOD 80GB that was refluxed and reflowed... then YLODed again after 5 months so I had to take the entire thing apart to get my killzone 3 disc (I was actually 95% the way through). Then I put the entire thing back together. If you're good with a heatgun and want to pay for shipping it's yours ^_^ (no joke tho... but probably not even worth the work and risk of refluxing and reflowing yourself just to play one game)
I think I'll get this for the PS3 because I don't know anyone with a Vita...at least no one I'd play it with.
I don't play with strangers.
I'm convinced. Sign me up. Are there command moves like in shadow over mystara?
