For the uninitiated.
played with the music off, looks lame and stupid.
But with the loud music, it look exciting.
Game looks good...im guessing that it did not do very well as its been out for 3.5 yrs and not many have heard of it....why such a late post?
i already got burned by you people saying bullet witch was good so i dont get the hype for edf. vids look kind of cool but it looks like something id rather play with a mouse. dont suppose its on pc?
Bullet Witch is still the second best game this generation.
Deadly Premonition is the third best.
edf
bulletwitch
deadly premonition
bayonetta
viking
wanted
top 6, right there.
Still easily some of the best Co-op ever and some of the best weapons ever!
Yep i did 1000/1000 on it :)
i agree with deadly premonition.
isnt wanted just gears of war?
oh man i totally want to play that game again.
haven't played it since it came out.
it's one of those games where you either love it or hate it.
I remember the director saying something about making a sequel with online co-op. Still waiting on that.
I'm seriously considering getting a Japanese copy of EDF2017 so I can 1000/1000 it again.
Seriously.
I really can't wait for the Batman: AA sequel. I read the story about it in Game Informer this month and it looks great. My only complaint with the original was that you had to be in detective vision mode or whatever it was called all the time. The game had such good graphics it was a shame to obscure them like that all the time.
EDF is a great time. One of my first 360 purchases and still one of my favorites. :buttrock:
So nobody's heard of shit like Uncharted 2, Fallout 3, MGS 4 — stuff like that, huh? Because those are some of my favourite games this gen.
P.S. Bayonetta doesn't rate, not even on a top 50 list.
Ha ha ha, fair enough.
On another note, sounds like I really have to try this EDF game, anyways. I doubt I'll agree it's the best this gen has to offer, but that doesn't mean I don't want to play it.
P.S. I was responding to wasabi, not Buro. This is for Buro: except for the Fallout 3 thing, you're wrong. :smirk:
Uncharted 2 is the best PS3 game.
MGS4 I don't care for as I'm not into that stealth style of gameplay.
Fallout 3 is excellent and I see why people lick its asshole but it's not a personal favorite.
Earth Defense Force 2017 is honestly my favorite game this generation and very easily earns a spot in my Top 10 Favorite Games of All-time list.
Bayonetta (360) is the Game of the Year.
And please, don't turn this into a 360 vs PS3 thing as I don't give a shit what you prefer and why.
I figure if we're talking about the generation, we should clarify that the thread is about the 360's generation, not this generation for all three consoles.
But interesting to see so much praise for this EDF game that I never heard of until now. I want to try it.
MGS4 is the ultimate fan service game. As a MGS fan(boy) I loved it. I can't imagine why anyone else would ever want to play it though.
If Bayonetta doesn't rate in your top 50 games of this generation (who has 50 favorite games from this gen, honestly?) I'd like you to list the ones that do.
Man, I've owned EDF twice and both times I've never been able to get into it. Dug Bulletwitch though.
No action game, especially in the last year, outclasses Bayonetta's combat mechanics. And that's why the game is so good. The story is hard to follow at best and graphically it is not really anything special outside of creative character and enemy design. But the gameplay blows any competitors out of the water. Games like God of War 3 and Dante's Inferno might have it beat in terms of story and presentation (and presentation is arguable even) but they pale in comparison to Bayonetta's depth. Honestly you might as well be comparing X-Men Origins: Wolverine to Bayonetta.
Yeah it kind of slipped under the radar after a while...I got my 360 pre-Halo 3 so the only good game was Gears pretty much. I had read a bunch of great reviews for it and decided that it was my kind of cheese. Once the fall 07 rush set in everyone forgot about it.
I know a place that has a cheap ($10ish IIRC) sealed copy if you want it :eye::eye:
What Bill said.
I only played AA after I read on here that it was several members' favorite first time play through experience ever. I read that and thought it must be near perfect. Totally accurate. Ive never played a game where I was excited to see enemies every time, because they never stood a chance against the bat.
I saw that Bayonetta is down to $20 now...don't know why I didn't grab one.
Oh yeah, it's because I blind-bought Stormrise for $6 and then found out it's fucking horrible.:mad::mad::mad:
