New season/episode tonight
Really liked the season premier. Most of the characters I hated in previous seasons were tolerable for once. Here's hoping season 3 keeps up the pace.
I liked it, I figure this time next season the kid playing Carl will be replaced as he's growing fast
So keen. I'll be watching the new episode in the next hour or so.
Michonne looks badass!
It was okay. Looks like they're going to have the horrible thing that happened to Dale in the books (to prove a point about infection) will happen to Herschel here.
Andrea is still a loathsome character played by an actress with the cuntiest face imaginable.
Was there some mojo between Carl and Herschel's 18 year old daughter?
Niiiice.
I thought it was pretty good. Liked how they jumped right in with the action. Kinda weird how Hershel is like the new Dale and Beth has the hots for Carl but fuck it.
they've already severely screwed the comic's story line so much i'm surprised they even follow any bit of it at all.
Thought the episode was pretty good. They have a horrible way of clearing out the zombies. Why not just stay at the fence and make noice so that they come to you? seemed to work pretty well in the start. Wreckless to barge in there and taking them head on.
What's the deal with the 2 chained zombies? What's their purpose?
New episode tonight. Wonder if Rick deems all the prisoners unsafe and locks them up or kills them?
I guess I'll never get to see the new episodes until they come to Netfilx. Dish and AMC sound like they'll never see eye to eye. Even at the New York Comic Con this past weekend AMC had a GIGANTIC full color banner with Rick and on the bottom of the poster they had the Dish logo with a cross out symbol on it saying, "NOT AVAILABLE ON DISH!!" Yeah! We get it!
I don't have tv period. I just use the internet & netflix.
For the season premiere, if you registered on the AMC website they'd email you a link so that you could stream the premiere episode as it was being aired. Oddly though, here on the west coast it's supposed to air at 9:00PM yet the link they gave me went live at 5:00PM.
I also watch other shows (666 Park Avenue, American Horror Story, etc) and find that tv show groups will have episodes ripped & available online usually within 1 - 2 hours after they've aired. Not sure what you have access to, but these are always available via torrents/newsgroups.
T Dog deserves his own spin off series.
Just watched S301, now I have to wait what? 2 weeks? Ahh!!
Pretty good episode. Rick is turning more and more into Shane. Locking that dude outside with the zombies was pretty cold. He did nothing wrong. He just ran for his life as he was afraid to get killed like that latino guy.
I think Merle is coming back. After episode 2 they did a next week preview and I'm pretty sure I saw a glimpse of him.
Say hello to The Governor!
It's holding up so far. Second episode was just as compelling as the first. I'm 'feeling it' for TWD right now.
I like these first two S3 episodes more than all of S2 combined.
I even liked T-Dog this week.
I disagree that 'he did nothing.' He ran after Rick killed their leader. To Rick, that's a clear flag that he was complicit in the act. I'd even argue that was the show's story all but telling us he was guilty.
Rick is not turning into Shane.
Season 3 has started pretty well. I am happy with it.
Rick with those killer one liners.
They are moving along with Ricks character really fast compared to the comic. I feel like he didn't become this cold until near the end of the prison saga. The show is really setting itself apart and I'm loving that.
He's not that cold.
He and Lori are having marital issues. Is he suddeny supposed to forget about all of that just because they're trying to survive?
He's making it as comfortable as he can for her. But right now, he doesn't owe her any more compassion than anyone else in the group. Probably less, in fact.
As for how he treated the prisoners, they just became neighbors with convicts and he's got people to take care of. In the new world, he aint got time for noboby's bullshit.
Finally, he saved Herschel's life and was visibly moved by Herschel's reaction. This shows that Rick is just adjusting to this new existence while holding on to the person that he is at his basic core.
I remember Rick being a bit more covert with his cold blooded murder in the comic. I mean of course I could see post prison Rick doing something far more heinous (because THAT Rick doesn't give a fuck) TV Rick slamming machetes in melons because shit happens this early on feels off but refreshing. I really don't give a fuck about his marital problems and I don't think Rick cares either.
Spoiler:
We see what comic book Rick endures during the winter. We have no clue what went on during the winter that affected tvshow Rick.
Of course Rick cares about his marital problems.
Despite the analysis that he's somehow become some kind of cold hearted bastard, he still has a conscience.
Rick didn't kill those guys because he's an asshole now. He killed them because he couldn't live next door to a guy that tried to kill him when that guy is the leader of a neighbor faction.
Rick knows that eventually, a group led by a guy that tried to kill him would collude and continue to undermine him and would probably eventually sway everyone to his cause. Rick is responsible for women and children, not the least of which is his own son.
Rick couldn't take that chance. Lori told him he wasn't a killer, and it was partly to try to help him deal with how things are going down in the 'present' and partly to help with how they went down with Shane.
The stakes are too high for Rick to fuck around, but if the convicts would have kept their end of the bargain, Rick wouldn't have had to kill any of them.
Other than the scene where the Governor and his henchmen took out that military crew, I really liked Episode 3.
Season 3 has been surprisingly good, imo. Glad to see the story moving along.
Yeah, so whats up with those fish tanks?
Is he some kind of sick fuck who gets off on that shit or what?
he's honestly a saint compared to the comic version...
;)
Episode was great, until the Governor and his men killed the soldiers. They didn't need to have such an improbable event as this to show he's a bad guy, and it was far too unbelievable, given everything else.
Yeah, you're probably right about that.
I think they should have just had him murder a couple of soldiers sitting on a huge stockpile, hiding it and hoping no one found them. That way, they could have shown the governor was still a bad man who wanted loot and guns but didn't want anybody that might be a threat to the willing authority others have given him. And the show wouldn't have had to go with the improbable scenario that played out as we saw it.
It's not like killing twenty soldiers makes him worse than just killing two scared, nervous and anxious soldiers. The act itself is evil enough. 'Moar killing' doesn't make him 'moar evil' in this case.
Rewatching the scene, I couldn't help but think of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLRXKlU02Oc
i figured out how it works.

Since I was away in Vegas I didn't notice that Dish Network finally got AMC back. I guess almost half a year of AMC putting out anti Dish Network adds finally paid off. The stupid f'n DVR didn't bother taping the newest episode tonight even though I had the whole thing set to "New Episodes" since the first one aired. Hopefully they'll re-air the ones I missed. I'm not going to start watching the one tonight.
so..... S03E04.... T-Dog....
