Men's cologne seems like an old man thing these days, yet i see ads for it all over magazines.
I wore it all the time when i was younger 17-22ish, but these days i can't seem to find a time where the scent will not be overbearing. The few times I have wore it again, people mentioned it immediately like it was out of place.
It's too much for for work and every day wear, so ....

you're using too damn much. The cologne scent should be subtle. You should put it on when you get out of the shower when your body is still hot and only put a little on your neck and wrists. That's how you get it to work it's magic. That shit will make bitches start marinating in their own juices.
Stop bathing in it.
Might also want to stop using the spray and switch to a decanter style bottle so you can limit your use a bit better.

That stuff is from the olden days before de-odorant and is truly unpleasant under nearly any circumstance.
just make sure you shower regularly so you don't stink. There's no need for cologne.

Exactly! I think some of the cologne naysayers haven't experienced a woman going nuts over a scent. I can't believe what I'm reading. Saying men shouldn't wear cologne is like saying women shouldn't wear pretty smelling (albeit subtle) perfume. I wouldn't wear it to go play basketball, but if you're going to be in a place where hot women might be, put some (SOME) on. Old days? WTF?
Maybe I have a more sensitive nose, maybe I've been stuck around too many guys who abuse it, or maybe I've been around too many women who dislike it, but cologne is a no go for me.
People like to think that they're not using much, but put them in a room full of other people who are doing the same thing and you get something slightly more pleasant than tear gas.

The thing with any cologne is to do one of two things:
1. Spray the air (once is generally enough) and walk through it.
2. Spray one hand (again, once is generally enough), rub hands together, then pat it onto the neck/shoulders. Then wash hands.
Moderation is key. I don't often wear cologne, but when I do, I use Eternity for Men. My wife likes it, and it doesn't give me headaches, so hey.
Eternity is excellent stuff, I used to wear it about 10 years ago now (almost can't believe they still make it, I guess it's living up to it's name). After Eternity I wore CK BE for YEARS. That is some awesome stuff, but I decided to move on and I've been using Curve for about a year now.Quote:

And just a little bit goes a long way, but it also helps if you get the cologne approved by a woman before you start wearing it all the time. I had a friend who would wear a Dolce & Gabbana cologne that was nasty. It was not Light Blue (lonesage), but was in the bottle with the dark blue trim. Terrible stuff, like fermented licorice.
Personally am wearing Lolita Lempicka these days. It smells like russian strippers, which is nice.

Yeah, I personally find it nicer when guys actually smell nice. I notice it right away myself and yes, I actually might look towards your direction twice (not once like the usual) if you do. Doesn't make you any better looking but it makes your presence nicer.

It also kinda depends on the ladies you're going after. For a long time I dated this artsy girl who never wore any perfume or makeup herself, so it didn't even occur to me to wear it. After we split, I sort of continued my ways, but this thread has inspired me to go for the gusto.
