Goddamn right, I am fully aware that I'm going to hell for that one and that I'll have a demerit on my urn in red letters.
edit: @'snausage: I actually have nothing but bad to say about it, pretty much, due to the major glitches that royally fucked up my playthrough on hard. The kind of "all that work for nothing" type of deal.
You know what, this is a good point. As much as I personally aren't shedding any tears or anything, I really don't think it's absurd to say that Michael is our generation's Elvis, and his death clearly has an incredible impact.
I just get a bit irked when I hear about people bursting into tears when they hear this news. I'm not trying to slam anyone for being saddened, but I just thought that this nonsense of people going on CNN and talking about how they interviewed him and whatnot... That's just stupid. You'd think these fucks could stand to stay out of the spotlight for one second. Sheesh.
Anyways, yeah, be sad that he's dead, that's fine. That's a normal reaction. Just don't sit there and try and tell me he's a victim in all this. He had it rough, but it's pretty clear to me that his own lifestyle is what caused his early demise. Just sayin'.
In my opinion, Joe Jackson's abusive upbringing fucked Michael up. If you've watched "Living with Michael Jackson", you'd know what I mean. On another note, NCS put out there remaining Michael Jackson Cosbaby figures ($118), which immediately sold out. Not really surprising.
Of course it did. But that's not an excuse. I've known people who had similar upbringings, and they were fucked up too, but at least they knew that sharing a bed with a little kid was wrong. Sheesh. Now, to be fair, a lot of child stars are fucked up as a rule... But there are a lot of former child stars and there's only one MJ. Or at least there was.
now that i think about it, i'd die too if i was 400 million in debt.
chak-tchamoan-ah ha, hiiii hiiii
And they're pretty much uniformly fucked in the head. Personally, I think he was a deeply disturbed individual, who needed help and support that he was never able to get, with his status and fame. And by the time his emotional instabilities became public knowledge, he'd already been demonized to the point where it likely felt like an exercise in futility. I don't believe he was ever guilty of child molestation; rather, I believe that a bunch of opportunistic parents decided that he could be their meal ticket. He was subject to smear campaigns of many kinds, and in the court of public opinion, you're guilty until proven innocent, and even then, you're still guilty.
Looking a lot like the Anna Nicole Smith case. They delayed the coroners report. Also, MSNBC has been unleashing the hate on MJ.
Sorry I not going to read through this...
two things...
Micheal had a pretty fucking good Arcade Collection.
At least now we can listen to his music again. I don't have to worry about my money going to a Ped.
SEE YOU IN SPACE, MICHAEL :)

Wow there's a whole lot of douchebags in here and what's surprising is that most of them are regulars in here. I guess just 'cause we all like the Neo doesn't necessarily mean they're all common sense individuals. MJ was a great artist/entertainer that was his magic, that was his thing. This world is growing angrier everyday and it shows in the simplicity of people's demeaning attitudes.
I love how "not revering MJ" or "believing MJ was a pedophile" are being equated with "being simple."
Awesome leaps there.
True, folks around here tend to focus on the negative. Forget about the impact MJ made on the landscape of 20th century music, or his contributions to society, or a myraid of different good things he's done, just focus on the bad. I'm not saying the guy was a saint by any means, but it's surprising to see some of the members acting like vultures ready to pick at his dead carcass.
Without him, pop music of the last 30 years would have never existed.
Derogatory stupidness is usually coupled with a simple thinking pattern, I guess I could be wrong though, but for the most part any situation where people easily place judgement on things they know nothing about like in this case MJ they simply opt for what seems acceptable within the confines of their own world.
Fucking leaps is right you condecending prick!
Edit: OK, I think is the way that's being presented that bothers me, I honestly have no idea wether the man was a child molester or not, I do know the guy had issues and I do know the guy was an amazing artist, I just enjoy the music. People that belittle the man usually have a very vague concept of MJ, they don't even know wtf happened during his career or after it, they're just shooting bullets 'cause is funny.
rip in peace michael.
ignore the haters
To be fair, if somebody would've made an MJ thread last week there would've been plenty of people saying the same thing. It's not like his death has sparked this mass diss-taste for the guy; it's always been there and will always continue to be. Death in and of itself does not grant somebody respect they may not have previously had. Everybody dies. It's how you live, and that's how most people are judged. And believe me, everybody here judges.
Demerol is fucking awesome.
WHO CARES? 30 years? I wouldn't trade the last 150 years of pop music for the welfare of even 1 kid. Why don't we just have blood sacrifices if pop music is so fucking important -- more than people's lives.
If he was a child molester -- IF, I say -- then all the singing and dancing in the world doesn't cancel that out. Great art is a wonderful thing, but come on.
lol
So much whining in this thread.
He's the greatest performer of our lifetime and that's the way we should remember him. It's a shame his work is overshadowed by his personal life.
RIP Michael.
:emb: too lazy for punctuation today
I think it's fine like it is
HAHAHHAHAHA, rip newspaper in peace?
Anyway, I'm still in shock about this, its really crazy to think he was planning a tour and you just take for granted that he's got many years left in his life.
Was just listening to the 911 call, the caller said he had his doctor with him who couldn't bring him back. I also noticed he never mentioned who he was, makes you wonder what the paramedics thought as soon as they saw it was MJ.
I've been break dancing all day.
Once again RIP
yesterday was the 25th anniversary of purple rain
:emb: The atmosphere is lighter in here, at my expense.
He had a few songs I liked, but by and large I fucking hate pop music. Outside of Jackson, if you like listening to talentless hacks who've been marketed so well people believe they really do have talent, by all means knock yourself out.
On another note if we want to start going down the road Jedah and a few others think is a good idea to travel down, we can start excusing bad behavior out there as long as you were talented or did some things a lot of people liked or thought was a good idea at one time.
Hey what the fuck I can play this game too! Hitler did some good things for Germany...sure he gassed 6 million Jews, ignited the Western world into another world war causing untold numbers of deaths, but what the fuck, he built the autobahn, got Volkswagen going, and pulled Germany out of their economic depression by putting people to work albeit for military purposes. That kicks up his standing a few notches
and most probably wouldn't have been eager to go and see his final tour either, but death makes people big fans again.
what hasn't been talked about that much is what will happen to his kids now? maybe they could live with their rich auntie Janet. they're in for a big lifestyle change.
The guy could have raped baby seals, it still doesn't change the impact he had on music. There's no changing history, whether it be his music or his personal life.
What can be proven is his impact on music.
As you said, if he did those things, Michael Jackson, as a person, will be viewed differently. As a musical artist, he will always be remembered for what he did. Today I choose to remember him for the good he did. I'll let those who write history sort out what is fact, fiction, right, or wrong about his personal life.
I don't think that many people are THAT sad about his passing or actually absolving him from responsibility. I was always angry at MJ ever since that interview where he denied having plastic surgery. The guy was really in his own pathological nightmare, doing anything he wanted to do and trying to escape reality much of the time.
People are more putting him on a pedestal because of what he did in his prime, and looking on the bright side of his life. He did have an incredibly positive impact on a lot of people. What's really sad is that he could have done much better things with his fame and fortune, even for himself. Do you think he made himself happy? I think he made himself miserable doing the shit he did.
As for the child molestation allegations, I always suspected that he was just weird around the kids, and that made it easy to take advantage of him. Maybe he did it, but I never heard any compelling evidence that made me think he MUST have done it. Therefore, I'm wary of condemning him over that.
this thread is gonna become the longest in history... thats some tribute right there.
one more thing before I retreat from this silly shit tho...
a mate sent me a message yesterday which made me lol:
Dude, MJ just died... that's such a shame, he was only 12 :(
I think a lot of us are right there with you. But you have to at least not hide from the possibility that it happened. What we do know is that he had little kids sleep over at his house unsupervised by their parents (or anyone). We do know that whatever might or might not have happened, after he got in legal trouble because of it, he was not able to control his own behavior and not put himself in the same position again, despite how he knew it would look. This inability to rein himself in (in spite of his own best interests) is a huge danger sign -- the kind you see in serial killers and serial rapists.
:(
You know...his death has effected me more than I thought it would.
It's not so much his passing as I feel he became a freak after the early 90's and I viewed him as a sad wreck of what was once MJ...I guess it's the passing of something I've always had in my life. Michael Jackson really is the Elvis or Beetles of my generation. He's always been there, on TV, in the videos, on the airwaves. I grew up watching his videos on MTV...
It's strange.
Or perhaps when you go on national television to give an interview and insist to the reporter that "sleeping with a young boy is showing love".
That interview he gave was honestly disturbing to me. I was looking at a guy who truly seemed to have little grasp on reality. It was like he was speaking from a dream world.
Ever seen Hiter's paintings ? Seriously, the guy was an amazing artist.
Come on guys, can't you put all that negativity away and not focus on the bad he did ?
Lets all remember him as a talented artist.
lol damn Abs, did he diddle you or something?
SHAMONE
HEEhee
I don't know what all the fuss is about, he ain't dead.
He's now on the same secret island as Elvis, Princess Di, and JFK.
Conspiracy theories - let them begin...
(...lol)
Michael Jackson's concerts were amazing! I think he's way better live than in studio albums, but I do like the J5 stuff better on studio than live. MJ's concerts were on the same vein with John Lennon, Bee Gees, Chicago, EW&F, stuff like that, the music was arranged so different from studio that it sounded way richer than it was originally inteded to be.
Dude, I can probably say that the last time I saw a recent video (within 4 to 5 years old) of MJ live was less than a year ago and I really like it.
