What is worse, the germs off my nice clean junk that I bathe every day or the germs off the faucet handles on the sink? I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this.
This problem is avoided by the hands free automatic faucets and toilets, but which would you rather touch?

Two thoughts on the touching the faucet after washing subject...
A) The people that are going to be cleaner by nature will be the ones touching the faucet so even though their hands were on or near their junk, I'd like to think the residual soap would take care of any nasties, as well as all the water that is splashed on it from washing hands & the off.
B) I'd be more concerned over that exit handle/push panel, I will NEVER touch that with my hands ever. Using a towel, shirt, shoe, w/e... that thing is touched by everyone, inclluding the non-washers. That's your real trouble spot. Plus, I'd bet that thing is never washed as often as the sink, ever.

And I never touch the faucets on the sink; I always get a paper towel first, then with the paper towel I push out another one and use the one I have already to turn on the sink. Then I use the ready paper towel to turn off the faucet and crank out another paper towel.

Human skin is an excellent barrier against germs. And you can drive yourself insane trying to protect yourself from contamination. Car doors, door knobs, phones, keyboards, public water fountains, even ice machines harbor germs. The human body can fight off alot of that shit. If it couldn't, people would be dying left and right due to the inability of their immune systems. But when you live in that environment your body adapts. Health care workers are probably the healthiest people simply because of the constant exposure to all sorts of things. Now if you're a phlebotomist and you accidently stick yourself with an infected needle then obviously you're fucked. But just through passive exposure the body develops and adapts a healthy immune system that can fight off just about everything.
