A one pound cheeseburger with a side of fries and a drink of your choice from Fuddruckers.
: drool :
I don't see bacon on those burgers.
on a scale of 1 to 10, Fuddruckers is a fucking 4 on the hamburger scale, and possibly 2 on the food scale. What a fucking joke.
you calm the fuck down, Bobak.
YOU COOL IT MAN.
I couldn't even imagine where to start on this question... I'd suggest things like (in no particular order, but things I think are magnificent):
- real, authentic poutine.
- A perfect chocolate chip cookie (there are a number of good places).
- french dip, double dip from Philippe's, alongside coleslaw and a piece of their apple pie
- authentic cheesesteak wit' wiz.
- juicy steak from a place like Ruth Chris, Mastro's or Manny's (I prefer filet or sirloin).
- Anything by Joel Robuchon.
- Emeril's incredible BBQ shrimp (I've had it four times, it never disappoints).
- Crayfish etouffee equal to what's at the Bon Ton Cafe.
- Just about anything at Antoine's, Galatoire's, Commander's Palace, Brennan's, or Couchon
- high quality sushi, not rolls which can mask serious issues (including the best flavors)
- Fresh tuna belly for breakfast at one of the stalls in the Tsukiji market
- Bobby Flay's Coffee Rubbed Steak at Mesa Grill
- chili-cheese fries from the original Tommy's shack
- Japanese curry, katsu or shrimp
- palak paneer and naan, but only if done right --let me know where you find it, btw
- a well appointed charcuterie plate
- foie gras cooked by someone who knows what to do with it
- Good pate
- any Michelin 3-star
- the beef barg with rice at Shamshiri in Westwood
- fresh, raw, creamy oysters from the Pacific Northwest
- lobster roll equivalent or better than the one at Todd English's Kingfisher Hall in Boston
- halva
- thick, fresh clam chowder
- fried clams from the Clam Box in Ipswitch, MA
- well-made risotto (easier said than done)
- dinner at The Rules, London --proof English food can actually be good (which is nobel prize worthy)
- lemon ricotta hotcakes and Rosti potatoes from Hell's Kitchen, Minneapolis
- fresh bread and top quality Caspian caviar (I didn't believe how good it was until I tried the good stuff.. its like how bad quality booze can prematurely sway your judgment)
- bacon pancakes from the Original Pancake House chain, assuming all franchises are as good as each other
- blue-cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped, dates: My god, they're awesome.
- jamon iberico (if you can find it outside Spain, get it)
- ropa vieja, fried plantains and black bean soup at a place like Versailles in Miami (or the LA knockoffs)
- just about anything from El Cholo's main location on Western in LA, make sure to wash it down with a Cadillac Margarita or two.
I could keep chugging these out, but I'm getting hungry despite being full from a supper club I tried here in Green Bay.
I've always said that everyone should try sushi at least once (it's my favourite food).
Birthday Cake Ice Cream from Richardson's in MA.
Vanilla cake batter base with chunks of frosting and cake pieces in it.
Used to eat this once a week or so before I gave up the crap food.
I could easily eat a drum of this in one sitting.

Roti. Just by itself, these are a meal for me. But if they do go bets with the goat curry.
frozen pizza + cold beer = super-happy-amazing-fun-time........
but seriously.... fuddruckers is one of the worst chains in the industry....
Very nice topic. :)
As for me, I would start by saying is not just about the meal/food per se, but also about the experience you get having that meal/food.
I.E. I *luv* cheap&good food over expecive&posh food. I'm not talking about junk food, don't get me wrong (though I must say Burger King has some nice treats as well) but mostly referring to popular, common food.
My most beloved food is Kansai food. Kansai, as you may know, is one region in Japan, the one with Osaka (and SNK, yes). I could seriosly eat Kasai-ryouri (that's Kansai-cuisine) everyday. Treat me with some serious (I mean the real deal, not the tourist fake shit) okonomiyaki, takoyaki, katsu-karee rice, Osaka-style sushi, whatever. And I'll be happy. :)
Eveything I've posted is best enjoyed with some beer:

Now I have two drive 2 hours away if I want fuddruckers.

Also I like Arby Q's but I cant find a picture of it.
Someone pick me out some good shit from here: http://www.aladdinseatery.com/
Like quick.
Gonna order soon.
Pecan pie is by far my favorite desert. I only have it once in a great while as its pretty heavy. I like to put a scoop of ice cream on top :drool_2:

Honey Shrimp and Walnuts. Rarely ever printed on a Chinese menu unless high class, but they will make it for you if you ask for it at any Chinese restaurant.
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/8/hswu.jpg
Don't blame me if you keep going back for more.
not really honey it's actually cream with mayo and they deep fried the light battered shrimp( usually large size) then just mixed in the mayo/cream and the one i had last week they had canned peaches with it, creamy with a hint of sweet from the syrup/peaches... crunchy on the outside and shrimp on the inside. :drool_2:
also try this :drool_2::drool_2: peking duck
http://news.cultural-china.com/china...pekingduck.jpg
also try porky's Hickory Smoked Baby Back Ribs slabs
http://extras.mnginteractive.com/liv...6__porkys2.JPG
so.
Hungry.
fuck me.
I have had the walnut shrimp before... Pretty good Hot on the outside, cold on the inside.
A lot of restaurants in asian dominated metropolitan areas will also serve shark fin soup, Birds Nest Soup and even Venison. But they only put it on the Chinese language menus.
If you have any Jamaican or Caribbean restaurants in your area you owe it to yourself to get a freshly made beef patty. on the topic of coco bread any west indian bakery worth its salt will have it; and while you are there pick up some coconut bread. It's about as dense as fruitcake but tastes like fruit instead of liquor.
http://www.justbajan.com/menu/recipe...weet_bread.jpg
a slice of this with a glass of dark rum will finish off a meal nicely.
I'm glad I ate before returning to this thread :p
I'll dig up some photos later.
Argh, that was the one I was hoping no one would ask: I had them once, as a special, at a restaurant that never had it on the menu again :( It was the Border Grill, which now has a few locations in LA and one in Vegas --I've met the two women who founded it, they have a real gift with pan-Latin American food. I guess you could try making your own, but I don't know if there's a trick --with that said, the three flavors so perfectly compliment each other: the first thing you taste is the smoky bacon, then you get the power of blue cheese in a later harmony with the rich, sweet flavor of the dates. As soon as I saw the special I though "wow, this could really work!" It did. I've since been to a place that did bacon and dates, but it wasn't the same.
Frankly, it was one of those dishes that completely revolutionized my interest in high cooking and opened me up to going a step further and exploring molecular gastronomy.
Hah, I was thinking about mentioning Schwartz's, but poutine and the Montreal bagels from Maison du Bagel probably topped it IMO.
As for eastern European fare, I prefer pierogies over the cabbage ones.
I just have a problem with crimes against humanity, that's all :p
You should hear my opinions when something actually pisses me off. Fuddruckers merely stains the planet with its existence and exceptionally overrated, just-above-McDonalds food.
I cant really think of anything
But i love seafood and anything chinese.
Hmm I would like to try certain cooked insects, or frog flesh in china ; )
The only reason to go to Fuddruckers is to see if you can actually eat a 1LB burger. It's a right of passage for any man worth his salt.
After that, you don't really need to go back.

3 Way, 5 Way, Cheese Coneys. If you're looking to clog your heart on cheese Skyline will be happy to oblige.
Pssh... I can get something better at the Anchor Bar in Superior, WI:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85...uperior-TH.jpg
The place is a local legend, and I had everything on the plate, known as the Gallyburger: three 1/3 lb patties.
It's as good as local gets up in Superior. Better than the chain crap.
More good photos of the beast:

My shame is I still haven't gone to one of the two local birthplaces of the Jucy Lucy.
Bobak, you realize where I lived in MO was a cultural wasteland, right?
That burger looks good, but 1LB of Beef is absolutely, truly disgusting. I've ate a few 1LB burgers in my day and am not really interested in doing that again.
It was me vs the burger and I won each time. I've nothing left to prove.
You ever watch Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network? I love that show because those are the types of places I generally want to hit up when I go out to eat.
I haven't, but there's an excellent place near where Djdelly used to live (a small town just beyond the urban sprawl of the Twin Cities) that was featured on the Food Network: The Peppermint Twist. The burgers were all that were worth having, but holy cow were they ultra-greasy goodness.
But cultural wastelands usually have the best local beef for some reason... The beef tips and original barbecue sauce from Arthur Bryant's in KC was tops (can't say the same for the regular beef, was way too fatty). I had a damn good burger 'n tots at a place in Bottineau, ND last month (Herbel's Dario Drive-In).
Again, crazy coincidence we're talking burgers, I was in Sault St. Marie, MI a few days ago and I went to their own U.P.-famous chain of Clyde's Drive-Ins (the original is in the Soo):
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85...-Clydes01a.jpg
These onion rings were possibly the best I've ever had... the burger was good, but these rings were like a spiritual experience (possibly worthy of a space on my list). My decision to get a chocolate shake proved to be forgettable.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y85...-Clydes01b.jpg
My favorite burger joint in my home town was John's Burgers, it became a local chain for all the right reasons --the burgers were ridiculously good.
Now that you're in CA, you must track down an In-N-Out if you haven't already (EDIT: there's one in Auburn, lucky man). Remember to read up on the "secret menu" before you go.
The secret menu?
I hit up In-N-Out but I didn't really care for it.
Not that it was bad or anything it's just not what I'm looking for. A classic burger joint? Eh. It's cheap and they're open late, so I do see the appeal - but it just doesn't appeal to me. It's still fast food IMO even if it's better than the super franchise joints (McDs, BK, etc.)
I haven't had a milkshake from their, so I need to go do that soon.
The hidden religious stuff was creepy.
I'd rather go to Wiener Works and get a hot dog, chili cheese fries, and a beer.
I didn't even know they had shakes, or at least had a friend order one... its all about the double-double and animal style fries for me.
The bible verses are the beauty of being a privately held company... sort of like how Cargill is one of the biggest companies on planet earth, but since they're privately held they can keep doing an excellent job of keeping anyone from really knowing how big they are... until the occasional news comes out like them holding one-quarter of Russia's bond markets, having $110.63 bil in revenue and 152,600 employees spread out across the world --all being run from a mansion in the suburbs of Minneapolis.
