Bored at work, I need something to watch; I don't care what it is.Quote:

Wow, oldschool anime! :D Nope, I haven't seen them yet. Goodie gumdrops, thanks for the tip, kern.Quote:

Birth: A War of Two Worlds was great viewing with the most intricate plot of all time and a TERRIFIC ending!!!
(I'm only being joking about that last one; Birth is probably the worst anime ever)
Have you ever seen Street Fighter II V? If you're looking for something on the goofy side I'd recommend it, although (like most anime) the overall quality goes downhill as the series wears on (recycled animation on the par of old Hanna Barbara cartoons towards the end). Art style reminds me a lot of Evangelion; wouldn't surprise me if it's by the same studio.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
They'll both keep you busy for a bit , u31 is 26 eps, mcog is 59 i thinkQuote:

- seeing said girls get penetrated by a tentacled monster of some sort
- seeing said girls get penetrated by a similar girl who happens to also have a dick
- seeing said girls get penetrated by any combination of the above
- seeing said girls get penetrated by miscellaneous

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
See what the fuss is about.
Oh and the first episode is sort of a throwaway, it'll make sense later, but it's supposed to be disjointed and weird. So don't watch just that and go "it sucks", it isn't a reflection of what the whole series is like.
Vision of Escaflowne.
Just be sure to watch the sub...the dub is the most horrendous POS evar.
dude I watched both of those when i was about 7Quote:

If you're into the standard hero fighting fare like Naruto & Bleach, I'd say give s-CRY-ed a peek.
They just ran a marathon of that yesterday on the Fuse cable channel. I had a hard time keeping up but that could be 'cause I missed the beginning.Quote:

Witch Hunter Robin
Silent Mobius
Chobits
DearS
Get Backers
Hyper Police
Battle Programmer Shirase
Trigun
Add Death Note and Code Geass.Quote:

This show is SO DAMN COOL! It's not very mainstream but it's awesome nonetheless! This order of episodes are not in the correct order but you'll still be able to follow what's going on. Example, the second episode is the first episode while the first is the 11th. You'll find a list on wikipedia! Watch it dubbed if it's still on youtube; Wendee Lee is awesome as Haruhi!
Heavens no...glad that's been cleared up.Quote:

I'd say Serial Experiments Lain, but only if you actually pay attention to anime plots.
It will confuse you pretty bad if you're not paying attention at the beginning, really.
And don't look up anything about it on the internet...suffice to say, your own interpretation of the ending will be forever altered.
Another vote for Escaflowne.
Still my favorite anime series of all time, just don't watch the movie :oh_no:

Last Exile is pretty great.
Cowboy Bebop* is one of the Best Anime series full stop.**
* Someone on this site totally ruined this anime for me - as they blurted out something regarding the ending totally unspoilered.
I can't remember who did it, but I stopped watching the series half way through because it completely ruined it and I can't forget the spolier.
If I ever remember who blurted it out, I will see to it that their negligence is suitably accounted for.
**Why do you call a full stop a period over there?
Oh, and give Lucky Star a shot for something lighthearted. Though it's not for everyone, and the first few episodes kinda suck (then they got another guy on staff that knew his shit at like episode 6, then they got better). Give it a shot.
And before anyone can recommend it, Azumanga is terrible, Lucky Star isn't, and I wish people would come around and see that...

hmm.. haven't really watched much lately. Full Metal Alchemist, Elven Lied, Gundam Wing, Gundam 00, Maburaho, Myself Yourself
Finally got around to watching the Hand Maid May that was sitting in my closet. Watched all 11 episodes, approx 5.5 hours in one sitting and I loved it. It's a few rungs beneath Tenchi Muyo, but still great nontheless IMO. And the opening theme is infectiously catchy.
Teen Titans
I still haven't watched that. I traded you for that what...like 2 years ago or something :lolz:Quote:

Heh, I forgot about Full Metal Panic. Chris Patton (Sosuke) and Luci Christian (Kaname) are awesome together! As for Esclaflowne, I agree with everyone here on how awesome it is. I saw only the dub when it was on Fox kids back in 2000 but I guess if I watch it now, i'll still have love for the show.Quote:

Ryoko's original english voice over didn't return and the new girl sounds terrible; she doesn't have the same coolness to her voice.
Gokusen is another good series. If you want the best out of it, watch the live action if you can find it. Case Closed (Detective Conan) is awesome in every sense! Great characters, music, and story makes me want to come back for more.
watch the OVA, Riding Bean
here's a 1-minute preview of it, such a short amount of time but it creates a fantastic vibe
to get an authentic feel of chicago, phil perry was hired to create most of the soundtrack -- I messaged him at myspace a few months ago, thinking he'd never respond, and his wife did..they remember all about riding bean! it was pretty sweet
I use my veto power.Quote:

I hate to shit on someone else's selection, but this could mean the difference between life and death for some hapless viewer. Do not watch. I would honestly recommend the terrible US cartoon series over this. That's how bad it is.
Oh my God man...I saw this when I was like 4 or 5, and ever since then I've been wondering what it was...hell, just the other day it popped in my head for no reason.Quote:

+1 One of the best comedies I've seen for awhile. I think he's referring to episode "zero" here, which is only episode one if you're looking at the US DVDs. IIRC the Japanese broadcast order was a little different so if you're looking on a torrent your milage may vary.Quote:

And +1 for Death Note, which is amazing in any format.
Galaxy Express 999
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.. i think they made anime of it at some point.
I wish they'd release this on dvd here. Both the tv series and the movies. Hell, I wish they'd bring the original comic series out here, more than I do the tv series and movies. Viz really has their head completely up their ass about 999. VHS and the first few volumes of the sequel comic series. It makes no fucking sense.Quote:
